Goal

Hold work that's wanted but not scheduled for a release yet. Nothing here has a milestone.

In scope and out of scope

In scope: additions, docs, tests and internal work that no release epic has taken on yet.

Out of scope: anything labelled silent or breaking. By the release rule that work goes straight into the next major's epic (#58 for 10.0.0) and never waits here.

How an issue leaves

When someone picks an issue up, it moves under the epic of the release it will ship in and takes that milestone. Since 2026-10-18 there are two lines (#147, #151): an addition ships in a 10.x minor on main (after the v10.0.0 tag: release/10.x) and is merged forward or cherry-picked with -x into the 11 line, so the LTS line never carries something the current line lacks (CONTRIBUTING.md#branches-and-releases).

Where it came from

Started on 2026-10-17 with the 13 issues still open on 9.1.0 when release/9.x was cut, so that 9.1.0 could ship with the work already finished.
