feat(web): let users turn on wake on connect from server settings - #818
The operator has armed the wake sentinel from spec.idle.wakeOnConnect since v0.2.0-beta.8, but the dashboard had no control for it, so the only way to turn it on was kubectl patch. This adds the switch to Server settings → Lifecycle, design first.
Changes
Design (ab4b3a7): design.pen Lifecycle (i1bLR) gains a "Wake on connect" block inside the Idle auto-sleep controls, under the wake windows. It holds a Gameplane/Switch/Off instance, "Wake the server when a player connects", and a helper about the extra pod per sleeping server and the UDP retry. New variant A8vGwM shows the switch disabled with "Not available for this game". Both are exported to JSON and 2x PNG and recorded in MANIFEST.md. No reusable component changed and no node moved.
Code (193f27e):
Lifecycle.tsx: the switch writes spec.idle.wakeOnConnect. It mirrors the operator's wakeOnConnectEligible: when the template advertises no port whose wakeProtocol can wake the server, it is disabled and says why. An already armed server can still be turned off.
Fix: switching idle auto-sleep off and on again rebuilt spec.idle from afterMinutes and wakeWindows only, which silently dropped wakeOnConnect. It now keeps every saved idle field.
types.ts: GameTemplate.spec.ports, including wakeProtocol.
i18n: four new strings in the English pack (the extractor also moved condition.tunnelready.invalidtailscaletags to its sorted place) and the French pack, stamped with i18n-check --stamp.
web/specs.md describes the switch.

Tests
New cases in Lifecycle.test.tsx:
arming keeps the other idle settings;
disarming;
the regression: wakeOnConnect survives switching auto-sleep off and on;
the helper text;
available with an advertised port that defaults to generic;
disabled when every advertised port is wakeProtocol: none;
an armed server can still be disarmed on such a template.
Locally only npx tsc --noEmit was run (passes); CI is the verification.
Out of scope
The Overview sleep card does not show whether wake on connect is armed.
The "Auto-restart" switch label (it is the inverse of spec.suspend) is confusing and could be renamed separately.
Added a “Wake on connect” option to Lifecycle settings, allowing a sleeping server to wake when a player connects. The setting is unavailable when the game does not support waking through any advertised port; an enabled setting can still be turned off.
Added guidance explaining the extra pod used while a server sleeps and the connection retry required for UDP-only games.
Wake-on-connect settings are preserved when idle auto-sleep is toggled off and back on.
The operator has armed the wake sentinel from spec.idle.wakeOnConnect
since v0.2.0-beta.8, but the dashboard had no control for it, so it
could only be turned on with kubectl.
Lifecycle (i1bLR) gains a "Wake on connect" block inside the Idle
auto-sleep controls, under the wake windows: a Gameplane/Switch/Off
instance with "Wake the server when a player connects" and a helper on
the extra pod and the UDP retry. The new variant paiCe, to its right,
shows the switch dimmed with "Not available for this game" for a
template whose advertised ports all set wakeProtocol: none, which the
operator never arms.
Both frames are exported to JSON and 2x PNG and recorded in
MANIFEST.md. Row 26 keeps its height, so nothing else moved.

The operator arms the wake sentinel from spec.idle.wakeOnConnect, but
the dashboard had no control for it, so turning it on needed kubectl.
Lifecycle now shows a "Wake on connect" switch inside the idle
auto-sleep settings, as designed in i1bLR, with a helper on the extra
pod per sleeping server and the UDP retry.
The switch mirrors the operator's wakeOnConnectEligible: when the
template advertises no port whose wakeProtocol can wake the server, it
is disabled and says so (paiCe), unless the server is already armed, so
it can still be turned off. GameTemplate gains its ports in the web
types to read that.
Switching idle auto-sleep off and on again used to rebuild spec.idle
from afterMinutes and wakeWindows only, which dropped wakeOnConnect. It
now keeps every saved idle field.
i18n: the new strings are extracted to the English pack (the extractor
also moved condition.tunnelready.invalidtailscaletags to its sorted
place) and translated in the French pack, stamped with
i18n-check --stamp. web/specs.md describes the switch.

Walkthrough
The Lifecycle settings add a Wake on connect control. Its availability depends on advertised template ports, and saved idle settings are preserved when idle auto-sleep is re-enabled. Tests, translations, documentation, and design exports cover the setting.

Template port declarations determine whether the control is available. The Lifecycle settings update wakeOnConnect and preserve existing idle settings. Tests cover availability, toggling, state preservation, and explanatory text. Documentation and English and French strings describe the setting and its availability.
The design exports show the Wake on connect control, its unavailable state, and related Lifecycle settings. The manifest records the export update and validation.
Wake on connect cannot be newly enabled for a loaded template with no wake-capable port. No actionable merge-blocking issue remains after normal checks.

# Gameplane Constitution
## Core Principles
### II. Design-First for User-Facing Change
Any change to the web dashboard's visual surface, and any change to the public website's
screens, MUST be designed first in the relevant Pencil source (`design.pen` for the
dashboard, `website.pen` for the public website's screens) via the `pencil` MCP server,
and translated to React only after the design is committed. Backend-only, API-only, and operator-only changes are exempt. The `.pen`
files are Pencil-owned design sources and MUST NOT be read, hand-edited, or deleted with
generic file tools (`Read`, `Grep`, `sed`, `cat`, `rm`) — they MUST be accessed and
modified through the `pencil` MCP server only. They are multi-megabyte machine-generated
JSON documents: hand-editing risks structural corruption Pencil cannot recover, and
reading one floods an agent's context while revealing nothing useful about the design,
for which `get_screenshot` and `export_nodes` are the correct tool...

386-387: Maintainability & Code Quality
The design-source update is present in PR #818, so the requested confirmation is already satisfied. The comment's premise that design.pen is absent from the PR does not hold.
CodeRabbit: when the template had loaded but declared no ports, the
switch stayed available, so a user could arm wake on connect on a
server the operator never arms (wakeOnConnectEligible finds no
advertised port to wake on). The switch now stays available only while
the template is still loading; a loaded template without ports shows it
disabled with the "Not available for this game" hint.

Brings in PR GameplanePanel#815 (reserve less than the limit), which also changed
design.pen and the design export manifest.
- design.pen: never hand-merged. Taken from master, then the wake on
connect design was re-applied with Pencil: the "Wake On Connect
Section" in Lifecycle (i1bLR, now at y 46130 after GameplanePanel#815 moved the rows)
and the "Wake on connect unavailable" variant to its right. Pencil
gave the new nodes new ids, so the variant is now A8vGwM (was paiCe)
and its JSON and PNG exports were renamed. i1bLR is re-exported;
against master it only gains the new section.
- MANIFEST.md: both sections kept, GameplanePanel#815's first; the wake on connect
section names the new ids and records the re-application.
check-layout.js: NO ISSUES. npx tsc --noEmit and go build ./... (api)
pass; npm run i18n:extract leaves the English pack unchanged.

Takes in a0fdbf1, the earlier merge of master pushed to the branch before PR GameplanePanel#815 landed. Every commit it brings is already in the master merged by the previous commit, so the tree does not change.
