The footer showed the selected model inside its status pill while reasoning sat outside. Place both settings controls inside the same pill, separated by a small divider, preserving their labels, tooltips, status colours and settings actions.
Validation: all 28 footer execution-status tests pass; changed-JavaScript static lint and diff checks pass. Chromium using the actual candidate footer renderer/CSS with mocked APIs confirms gpt-5.6-luna and medium are contained by the green pill at 1600px and 390px, both controls work by keyboard, and the visibility preference hides/restores the whole group. This is fixture-backed layout evidence, not authenticated live acceptance. No deployment requested.
