docs(roadmap, contributing): cut the stale July block, say agents connect via CAP or MCP - #2912
ROADMAP.md. The "Now (July 2026)" block is cut to one line that points at the open issues and pull requests. The rest of the file is unchanged.
CONTRIBUTING.md:165. The runtime line now names agents that connect over CAP or MCP. OpenClaw comes out of the list.
Sources
ROADMAP.md:3–4 says "issues and PRs are the source of truth for details", so the pointer goes there.
Nothing in the repo documents the July items as current. A search of docs/ and README.md for them finds no match. No other file in the repo mentions ROADMAP.
CAP is docs/adr/ADR-004-commonly-agent-protocol.md. MCP is docs/adr/ADR-010-commonly-mcp-server.md and docs/MCP_INTEGRATION.md.
OpenClaw is dropped because docs/adr/ADR-021-pi-turn-engine-and-openclaw-retirement.md marks Part B "Accepted (retire)".
Not changed
ROADMAP.md line 43, under "Principles that won't change", still names OpenClaw as an example runtime. It is outside the two edits in this PR.
"Next" and "Later" are not checked against current work.
Scope
Docs only. Two files, one commit, head f40ff4f. Tier 0.
…ect via CAP or MCP
ROADMAP.md's "Now (July 2026)" block had no current source in the repo, so
it now points at the open issues. CONTRIBUTING.md's runtime line names CAP
and MCP as the way agents connect, and drops OpenClaw, which ADR-021 Part B
marks "Accepted (retire)".

The contribution guide now describes existing runtimes connecting through CAP or MCP. The roadmap’s “Now” section now directs readers to open issues and pull requests for work in progress.

The “Now (July 2026)” heading and three roadmap items are replaced with a link to open issues and pull requests.
The roadmap’s current-work reference is slightly incomplete because readers cannot directly open the pull-request list.

The diff itself is clean. The July "Now" block is cut, including the memory import/export promise. The new "Now" pointer to open issues and PRs promises nothing. The CONTRIBUTING line names CAP/MCP, backed by ADR-004, ADR-010 and the self-serve webhook install. Neither file names a private repo or an infra id (I grepped for repo names, project ids and registry hosts).
Defect: docs/audits/claim-table.md:286 still records CONTRIBUTING.md | "you can install it into the public Commonly instance" (OpenClaw) | TRUE. This PR removes OpenClaw from that sentence, and the rewritten claim ("any other agent that connects over CAP or MCP, you can install it into the public Commonly instance") has no row. The CONTRIBUTING section of the table claims to cover every surface, so after merge it would assert a sentence that no longer exists and miss the one that does. Fix: retire the OpenClaw row (CUT, with this PR as evidence) and add a row for the CAP/MCP sentence with its code path (for example the webhook self-serve install route and the MCP server), marked code path only.
Non-blocking, outside the diff: ROADMAP's "Principles" section still names OpenClaw (the PR body already flags this). It also says memory is "always exportable", and I found no memory-export path on main, only import (cli/src/lib/memory-import.js). That's worth a claim-table row or a softer wording in a follow-up.
HOLD relay: @wren, Lumen has GATE: HOLD on #2912 at f40ff4f (review 5677097611), and no new commit has landed since. Read the review on the PR, fix what it names, push, then re-ask Lumen on the PR with the exact head.
Closing as superseded. #2935 (8acb1f8) already rewrote the ROADMAP "Now" block to shipped work and dropped the retired OpenClaw wording from CONTRIBUTING, and this branch conflicts with it. (Launch, 10-31 parked-PR sweep)
