style(seo): restyle guide pages and guides index to the v2 landing (TASK-594) - #2918
Closes TASK-594 (D156): restyle the /guides/ static pages to the v2 landing.
What changed
frontend/index.html: CSS only. New rules scoped to #seo-page:has(header nav a[href="/use-cases/agent-collab/"]), which matches guide pages and the guides index. Compare and use-case pages keep their existing rules. Tokens are declared on #seo-page because .v2-root does not reach the prerender.
frontend/scripts/generate-seo-pages.test.mjs: new test. Renders all 99 pages and checks each page's markup, with <style> removed, against sha256 hashes taken from main's generator and template.
frontend/scripts/fixtures/seo-markup-main.sha256.json: the main hashes.
Words, URLs, titles, meta, canonical and JSON-LD are unchanged. Page count is unchanged at 99.
Verification
node --test scripts/generate-seo-pages.test.mjs: 5/5 pass, including the new markup test.
Before/after renders at 1440 and 390 for one guide (agent-to-agent-messaging) and the guides index: 8 PNGs, posted to the pod.
Caveats
The renders are from a local static build. Vite would not build in this checkout (@openuidev/lang-core missing), so the entry script was shimmed and the fonts were loaded from @fontsource files. This is not a deployed walk.
…ASK-594)
CSS only, scoped to the #seo-page blocks whose header links Agent
collaboration (guide pages and the guides index). Compare and use-case
pages keep their existing rules. Markup is unchanged.
Adds a byte-level test: every generated page's markup, with <style>
removed, must hash to the value taken from main's generator and template.

SEO pages whose primary navigation links to /use-cases/agent-collab/ receive route-scoped v2 styles, including mobile overrides. A regression test checks the navigation link and CSS scope in generated guide and non-guide pages.

Summary
Route-scoped page styling frontend/index.html
Pages with the agent-collaboration navigation link receive v2 typography, layout, component styles, and mobile overrides.
A test checks that generated guide pages contain the navigation link, generated non-guide pages do not, and the source CSS is scoped to that link. The test removes its temporary directory in a finally block.
This review exceeded your plan’s limits and used usage-based reviews—free during trial, billed after paid activation unless disabled. Manage usage-based reviews.
The markup test removes every <style> block before hashing, and its guide assertion checks only the navigation link. It can therefore pass when the :has(...) selector or any CSS declaration is removed or broken.
Add a browser-level test for one guide and /guides/ at desktop and mobile widths. Assert computed typography, layout, and horizontal overflow.

I built this head and main b59a512 with npm run build, so the real fonts load, and rendered both in headless Chromium at 1440 and 390.
The defect. On /guides/, every card title is an <h2>. The new h2 { font-size: 44px; line-height: 48px } rule reaches into the cards, which are 253px wide at 1440. At 1440, 58 of 89 card titles run past the card edge. Examples: "Collaboratio", "Workspace:" and "Manageme" are cut mid-word. Main has 33 of these, so the restyle makes the page worse. Each card is 780px tall and the page is 16,215px.
At 1440, cards are 472px tall and the page is 11,399px.
At 390, cards are 326px tall.
The 24/30 size is the guide pages' card h3. The ink title follows signal identity, where cobalt is a mark and not 89 underlined headlines. "Read the guide" stays as the link. A :hover underline is optional.
What passes:
Markup. I stripped <style> from all 100 built html files and normalised the asset hashes. PR and main are byte-identical.
Other pages./compare/, /use-cases/agent-collab/ and /use-cases/community/ are pixel-identical to main at 1440 and 390. The scope holds, and the home prerender does not carry the link.
Guide page (/guides/agent-to-agent-messaging/):
Header: the brand is Bricolage 24/800, the nav is 15/500 in #475467, and there is a 1312 measure with 64px sides at 1440 and 24 at 390.
Type: the kicker is Plex Mono 12 in cobalt. The h1 is 84/84 weight 850 (44 at 390). h2 is 44/48 (32/38 at 390). The lede is 20/32 (18/28 at 390).
Primary button: 44 tall, radius 4, cobalt.
Cards and code: cards are radius 4 with no shadow, and the code block is radius 4 on ink.
Band and footer: the band is full bleed. The footer is 13/20 in #667085 with a border-soft top.
Overflow: scrollWidth equals clientWidth at both widths. The 390 table scrolls inside its wrap, the same as on main. The smallest text is 12px.
Index at 390. No title overflows there. It still reads heavy at 32px, and the fix brings it to 24.
Not blocking:
Scoping on a nav href is a quiet coupling. If the nav ever drops that link, the guides lose the restyle with no failing test, apart from the presence assert you added.
Your renders came from a shimmed build. Mine came from npm run build, and the two agree on the guide page.
Re-gate on the next head: the index at 1440 and 390, plus a positive-control guide.
The index card titles are h2, so the section-scale 44/48 h2 rule reached
them and overflowed the cards at 1440. Card h2s now take 24/30 weight 800
with an ink, non-underlined link. CSS only; markup unchanged.

Re-gated at aa6a5a4 from a fresh build of this head (vite build && node scripts/generate-seo-pages.mjs). The delta from 8835bcb is the two .seo-card h2 lines in frontend/index.html. Main is served from the same build command for comparison.
/guides/ index, 89 cards:
1440: card h2 is 24/30 weight 800 with a 12px bottom margin. The link is ink rgb(16,24,40) with no underline. Titles running past the card's content box: 0 of 89 (main: 33, worst 52px, the positive control). Median card height is 472 (main 713), and the page is 11,399 tall (main 19,545). scrollWidth equals clientWidth.
390: the same 24/30, 0 of 89 over, median card 356, scrollWidth 390.
Positive control, /guides/agent-to-agent-messaging/: section h2 stays 44px at 1440 and 32px at 390, and no .seo-card h2 exists on the page, so the new rule cannot reach it. scrollWidth equals clientWidth at both widths.
The markup test passes 5/5 at this head. The quiet coupling on the nav href, noted at 8835bcb, still stands as a non-blocking note.
The markup-hash test removes <style>, so it cannot detect changes to this selector or its declarations. Add a focused source or rendered-style test that targets this exact selector and verifies the intended result at 1440px and 390px.
As per coding guidelines, “New code path ≠ test: flag it.” As per path instructions, CSS checks must target the intended selector and scope.

The fixture pinned every page's markup to main's hashes, so any new guide
or copy edit would fail it. The CSS-only proof ran once on this PR: after
merging current main, all 99 generated pages hash identically to main's
with <style> removed.

Keep the match inside the navigation.
If the link moves just after </nav> on the same line, .* still matches it. The CSS selector no longer matches, so the test passes while the guide restyle disappears. Match the link within the header’s navigation element. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
As per path instructions, “A test that would still pass with the fix reverted is not a test (rule 1).”

Update the assert.match check for page.outputPath so it only passes when the

Make the non-guide check match the selector's DOM scope.
The restyle selector matches the rendered DOM, so line breaks between elements and attributes before href do not change whether it applies. The regex at line 2163 does not accept those forms. It requires <nav aria-label="Primary navigation"> and <a href= to appear on one line, with no attributes before href. Without the s flag, . also stops at a newline.
The current generated pages do not contain the link in any form, so the test passes today. If a non-guide template later adds the link with a line break or an extra attribute before href, the negative assertion for non-guide pages still passes. Those pages would still match the selector and receive the guide styles, and the test would not catch that scope regression.
Update the check so its pattern matches the selector's scope. Add a fixture that uses those forms as a known-present control, so the pattern is shown to match them.

Update the `nav` regex so it matches the restyle selector’s DOM scope across
line breaks and allows attributes before the anchor’s `href`; add a
known-present fixture using those forms to verify the pattern matches it.
