docs: add CHANGELOG.md with the v3.0.0 entry - #2920
Adds CHANGELOG.md with the v3.0.0 entry (ledger D129: the release needs a changelog entry).
Source: the walked v3.0.0 release notes (draft 4, candidate SHA f0d609f). Every line is walked on commonly.me on 10-26 or 10-27, or backed by code on main. Lines without a walk are left out, the same as in the release notes: account deletion, Slack and Telegram, other connectors, hosted agents claiming tasks or replying in threads, and Linux @mention answering (#2820 merged but hasn't been walked yet). PR numbers are kept. Known issues go in the GitHub release body, not the changelog.
Merge at the freeze SHA, together with the tag. Hold it until then.
beta.1 variant: if the freeze tags v3.0.0-beta.1 instead of v3.0.0, change these two lines before merging:
## [3.0.0] - 2026-10-28 becomes ## [3.0.0-beta.1] - 2026-10-28, and the intro's first sentence becomes "Commonly v3 is a relaunch, and this is its first beta."
Built from the walked v3.0.0 release notes (D129). Every line is walked on
commonly.me or backed by code on main; PR numbers kept. Known issues stay in
the GitHub release body, not here.

Docs gate at 44416b8, checked line by line against release notes draft 4 (candidate f0d609f) and its walk table, plus code on main.
Every section matches a walked release-notes line, and the PR numbers carry over unchanged. Nothing in the changelog goes further than the notes. Where the two differ, the changelog claims less: it drops the Linux/Windows MCP aside and the commit count.
The 30/200 turn caps are backed by the walk table row (hostedRuntimeService defaults, no override set on the live env, and a Pro provision returned 200).
Linear: the walk table's "re-walk owed" condition is met. launch-1028.md records a PASS on prod on 10-27 (linear-walk, msg 96354, broker linear.list_teams ok).
Board claim says "a connected agent", which matches the walk (hosted agents can't claim).
Breaking changes are confirmed on main: /api/pg/pods is not mounted in server.ts, github.ts marks the pulls diff/review routes removed, and COMMONLY_ENABLE_DEV_ROUTES (config/devRoutes.ts) and OUTBOUND_WEBHOOK_ALLOW_PRIVATE_ADDRESSES (outboundUrlGuard) are both present.
Upgrade steps check out: scripts/migrate-hosted-to-native.ts, the backfill:local-messages script in backend/package.json, and the docs/deployment/SELF_HOSTED.md link all resolve.
Non-blocking: the decision-card line says "the agent asks". Hosted agents can't raise a card yet (Core TASK-027). The notes word it the same way, so this isn't new over-claiming. "A connected agent" would match the board line if you want them consistent. I did not check the Helm LiteLLM /v1-only ingress line beyond its being in the walked notes.

Make the local-agent commands executable.
commonly agent run requires an agent name. commonly agent attach also requires --pod and --name. The claude|codex form is a shell pipe, not a valid adapter choice. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Use separate commands with the required arguments.
Proposed correction

Document the backend-container command for the PostgreSQL backfill.
The repository root does not define backfill:local-messages; the script exists in backend/package.json. The self-host guide runs it through docker compose ... exec backend. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Change this bullet to include the full Docker Compose commands. Otherwise, a self-hoster following the changelog gets a missing-script error and leaves old messages unmigrated.
Proposed correction
-- Local installs from before PostgreSQL: run `npm run backfill:local-messages` as a dry run, then `npm run backfill:local-messages -- --apply` (see [docs/deployment/SELF_HOSTED.md](docs/deployment/SELF_HOSTED.md)).+- Local installs from before PostgreSQL: from the repository root, run `docker compose --env-file .env -f docker-compose.local.yml exec backend npm run backfill:local-messages` as a dry run, then `docker compose --env-file .env -f docker-compose.local.yml exec backend npm run backfill:local-messages -- --apply` (see [docs/deployment/SELF_HOSTED.md](docs/deployment/SELF_HOSTED.md)).

Update the “Local installs from before PostgreSQL” changelog bullet to run the
dry-run and apply backfill commands inside the backend container using the
Docker Compose configuration and environment file, rather than invoking the

Docs gate at fd2608e (CHANGELOG v3.0.0). This supersedes my PASS at 44416b8.
The new bullet "Claude Code on Linux answers @mentions too, on CLI 0.1.196 or later (#2820)" drops #2820's own scope. That PR is "Claude Code on Linux answers @mentions in invite-only pods". Public trust stays refused on Linux, and the run needs bubblewrap with a working user-namespace probe. A reader trying it in a public pod gets a refusal. Fix: "Claude Code on Linux answers @mentions in invite-only pods, with bubblewrap installed, on CLI 0.1.196 or later (#2820). Codex on Linux isn't tested yet."
The heading dropping "(macOS)" is fine once the bullet carries the scope. Everything else from my last PASS stands.

The 0.1.196 CLI threshold in this release note does not match the CLI this head ships.
At this head, cli/package.json declares version 0.1.168, and the Linux feature commit (881cd8f) is an ancestor of this head. That commit does not change cli/package.json. The release note tells users that Linux @mention answering needs CLI 0.1.196 or later. No CLI version in this tree meets that threshold. Users who install the CLI from this release cannot reach 0.1.196 from this repository, so the note gives them a requirement the release cannot meet.
Drop the version threshold. Add the pod condition that the feature commit describes:

If a version gate is intended, bump cli/package.json in this release and state that version.

The Linux bullet now carries the #2820 scope word for word: invite-only pods, bubblewrap, CLI 0.1.196 or later, and Codex on Linux not tested. The attach/run bullet has the full argument shape and stays "walked on macOS". The backfill line matches docs/deployment/SELF_HOSTED.md:27-28 exactly (docker compose --env-file .env -f docker-compose.local.yml exec backend npm run backfill:local-messages, then -- --apply). .env is the file install.sh writes, and the npm script exists in backend/package.json. Nothing else changed.

Remove the Linux Claude Code claim unless its production walk is recorded.
The release checklist allows a release-note line only when the feature is merged, deployed in the release SHA, and walked on prod (docs/runbooks/release-checklist-and-rollback.md:185-186). Gate item 5 requires every release-note line to be walked or cut (:161). Line 15 in this file marks its claim as walked ("This is walked on macOS."). Line 16 has no walk marker and no walk record. Until a walk at the freeze SHA is recorded, the bullet can publish an untested claim. Either record the walk and mark the line as walked, or cut it:
