build: Node 22 floor for mintlify CI and CLI/MCP/apps/seats engines (TASK-025) - #3009
…TASK-025)
Follow-up to #2810. Bumps the mintlify docs workflow to Node 22 and the
engines.node floor from >=20 to >=22 in cli, commonly-mcp, packages/commonly-apps
and packages/seats (lockfile root entries match). User-facing Node requirement
text in the CLI and BYO docs moves to 22 to match.

The Node.js minimum was raised from 20 to 22 in package engine declarations, the Mintlify validation workflow, and CLI and setup documentation. The CLI no-build-step statements and Codex CLI sign-in requirement remain unchanged.
Changes: Node.js runtime floor
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Runtime declarations and validation cli/package.json, commonly-mcp/package.json, packages/commonly-apps/package.json, packages/seats/package.json, .github/workflows/mintlify.yml
The package engine requirements now specify Node.js 22 or newer. The Mintlify workflow now configures Node.js 22.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2810: Raises Node.js to 22 in other repository packages and CI jobs as part of the same version-floor update.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2739: Introduces the CLI and seats package requirements that this change updates to Node.js 22.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2480: Adds the Claude Code and Codex pages whose Node.js requirements this change updates.
Merge Risk: Low · up to 553d9
Users can still follow stale Node.js 20 instructions or pass the demo bootstrap with Node 20 or 21 before reaching a CLI that requires Node 22. These are straightforward documentation and script corrections.

Restrict the workflow token permissions.
This validation job does not declare permissions, so it inherits repository or organization defaults. Because the job executes npx -y mint@4.2.1028, a compromised dependency could use inherited write permissions. Set explicit least-privilege permissions, such as contents: read, at the job or workflow level.
The static-analysis hint identifies this job's inherited permissions as excessive.

Update the documented Node.js requirement.
packages/dsh-plugin/README.md states that Node.js 20 or newer can run npx -y @commonlyai/mcp@latest, but commonly-mcp/package.json now declares Node.js >=22.0.0. Update both the English and Chinese requirements to Node.js 22 or newer.

Update the Node.js requirement on the linked private-listener page.
docs-site/bring-your-own/work-in-your-repo.mdx still says "With Node.js 20 or later" before the steps that install @commonlyai/cli@latest and run commonly agent run. The CLI now declares "node": ">=22.0.0", and the Claude Code listener page now requires Node.js 22. A user who follows the linked page can install and run the CLI on an unsupported Node.js version.

Align the bootstrap script with the Node 22 floor.
docs/DEMO_QUICKSTART.md directs users to ./scripts/demo-bootstrap.sh. The script still advertises Node 20 and only warns for versions below 20, while cli/package.json requires Node >=22.0.0. Update the script text and threshold to Node 22. Preserve its intentional warning-only behavior.
