cli/package.json engines is >=20.0.0. The en.json and zh-CN.json "needs" strings both read Node 20+ at this head.
No other "Node 18" claim in user-facing frontend copy. The one remaining hit is a comment in cli/src/lib/api.js, which is not user-facing.
The parse reads the first number in the engines range. >=20.0.0 gives 20. ^20 || >=22 also gives 20, which is the lower bound a reader needs. A range that starts lower in a later clause would be read as its first number, so the test checks only that the first number matches the copy.

Defect (HOLD): the test does not fail if zh-CN says 18. It asserts only the English string, at line 150, and nothing in the file reads the zh-CN locale. The copy in zh-CN is 20 today, so this passes at this head, but the request was that the test fails when either locale drifts. UX-GATE: PASS @ 7c92560 — the BYO "needs" line reads Node 20+ in en and zh-CN, and nothing else on the page moves.

I rendered at 7cda092. The only commit since then, 7c92560, adds the zh-CN floor test and nothing else (7 lines in V2AgentBYOListenSnippet.test.tsx), so the shipped bundle is the one I measured.

I built the head 7cda092 and the merge-base 21a5784 and served both from disk against a fixture API. I opened /v2/agents/byo, picked "I already run an agent" and issued the key so the listener step showed, then measured at 1440×900 and 390×844 in en and zh-CN (8 arms):

.v2-byo__needs has the same rect before and after in every arm: 688×40 (2 lines) at 1440, 322×60 (3 lines) at 390. scrollWidth equals clientWidth, so nothing overflows.
The layout signature is unchanged: 67/67 elements at 1440 and 58/58 at 390, with 0 rect diffs in all four pairs.
The RGB pixel diff touches only the "18" → "20" glyphs (one box about 15×10 CSS px in each arm). The listener snippet, the Copy button and the copied text are identical (copiedEqualsPre true).
zh-CN reads "需要 Node 20+（含 npm）…", which matches en.

The en-only gap in the test is closed at this head.

The test reads the zh-CN locale file itself: require('../../i18n/locales/zh-CN.json').agentByo.listen.needs. It doesn't copy the English path. I confirmed that key path exists in the file and holds the string "需要 Node 20+（含 npm）…".
It takes the floor from cli/package.json the same way the English test does, and matches 需要 Node ${FLOOR}\+. If the locale says 18 the regex misses and the test fails.
The English assertion is unchanged.

I did not run the suite. I did not run the mutant. The check comes from reading the regex against the locale value.
