Summary

  • Task detail on the pod board opens as a 400px right drawer on desktop. Phones keep the bottom sheet.
  • Status is a segment of the four columns (Pending, In Progress, Blocked, Done). It replaces the Start, Block, Done and Reopen verb buttons, and the current column is disabled.
  • Of the updates, the newest three show. Older ones fold behind "Show N earlier updates" / "Hide earlier updates".
  • Slice 2 of TASK-687 (the umbrella). Slice 1 is TASK-698, already merged as fix(board): columns scroll inside the pane, not the page (TASK-698) #3078.

Spec

D215 artboard, task-board section (docs/design/artboards/d215/index.html): drawer 400px, status as a segment, older updates folded.

Tests

  • V2PodBoard.test.tsx: 23/23. New test: the segment PATCHes the status, and the fold toggle shows and hides the older updates.
  • v2-layout-invariants.test.ts: 276/276. New invariant pins the drawer width and the overlay alignment. The TASK-443 assertion now expects the drawer class.
  • Lint: 0 errors on V2PodBoard.tsx. Typecheck clean for the file.

Walk

Built with a fixture API (not prod), at 1440 and 390. The drawer, segment and fold render as the artboard describes. Screenshots are in the pod. Dark mode is not walked yet.

…t (TASK-699)

Slice 2 of TASK-687, from the D215 task-board section. On desktop the
detail is a 400px right drawer, and phones keep the bottom sheet. Status
is a segment of the four columns in place of the Start/Block/Done verb
buttons. Of the updates, the newest three show and older ones fold behind
"Show N earlier updates".

Tests: V2PodBoard 23/23 (segment PATCH, fold toggle), layout invariants
276/276 (drawer width and the phone sheet). Walked at 1440 and 390 on a
build against a fixture API. Not yet measured against the artboard
numbers on prod.

Walkthrough

The task detail view now appears as a drawer and uses a segmented status control. The update timeline shows the three newest entries by default and can expand to show older entries. English and Simplified Chinese translations and board tests are updated.

Changes: Board task detail

Layer / File(s) Summary
Drawer layout
frontend/src/v2/components/V2PodBoard.tsx, frontend/src/v2/v2.css, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts
The detail overlay and dialog use drawer-specific classes. Desktop and mobile styles set the drawer layout, and layout tests check its width and alignment.
Task status control
frontend/src/v2/components/V2PodBoard.tsx
The detail view replaces the status pill and move buttons with a radio group for the four canonical columns. Options reflect the task’s status and are disabled while saving, without write permission, or when already selected. Selecting an option calls moveTask with the column’s canonical status.
Expandable update history
frontend/src/v2/components/V2PodBoard.tsx, frontend/src/i18n/locales/en.json, frontend/src/i18n/locales/zh-CN.json, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2PodBoard.test.tsx
The timeline shows the three newest updates by default and can reveal or hide older updates. Its expanded state resets when the selected task changes or the detail view closes. Translations and a test cover the controls and behavior.

Minor follow-up Give the radio group radio-group keyboard behavior.

Give the radio group radio-group keyboard behavior.

These buttons have role="radio", but they have no arrow-key handler. The checked option is also disabled, so Tab cannot focus it. A keyboard user cannot navigate this control as the announced radio group. Use native radio inputs, or implement roving focus and arrow-key selection while keeping the current option non-actionable. The W3C radio-group pattern specifies focus on the checked option and arrow-key navigation. (w3.org) Based on learnings, React controls need “widget-appropriate focus and keyboard handling.” As per path instructions, comment on “broken contracts.”

Update the radio options in V2PodBoard so the checked option remains focusable
and the group supports roving focus with arrow-key navigation. Keep the current
option non-actionable for task moves, while preserving the existing moveTask
behavior for other options.

Minor follow-up Reset drawer overlay padding on desktop only.

13763-13763: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Reset drawer overlay padding on desktop only.

.v2-modal__overlay contributes 24px padding on desktop. The drawer selector overrides only padding-top, so flex alignment leaves the 400px drawer 24px from the right and bottom edges. Reset the full padding, but preserve the current mobile sheet padding.

Proposed CSS change
-.v2-board .v2-board__overlay--drawer { align-items: stretch; justify-content: flex-end; padding-top: 0; }
+.v2-board .v2-board__overlay--drawer { align-items: stretch; justify-content: flex-end; padding: 0; }
...
 @media (max-width: 760px) {
+  .v2-board .v2-board__overlay--drawer { padding: 0 12px 12px; }
   .v2-board__col { flex: 0 0 78%; min-width: 250px; }

Update the `.v2-board__overlay--drawer` rule to reset all overlay padding on
desktop so the drawer reaches the right and bottom edges. Preserve the mobile
sheet spacing by setting its existing mobile override to retain 12px horizontal
and bottom padding.
Minor follow-up Serialize same-task mutations outside the drawer lifecycle.

802-802: Minor · Data Integrity & Integration · Quick win

Serialize same-task mutations outside the drawer lifecycle.

Adding detailSaving to moveTask is not sufficient. openTask clears detailSaving while the previous request is still pending. A user can close and reopen the same task, then submit a second PATCH. The two writes can complete in either order. Ignoring the older response protects the display, but it does not prevent the older write from becoming the final server status.

Use per-task in-flight mutation state that survives task changes and serializes status/detail mutations for the same task. Track the selected-task view generation separately. Apply a response or rollback to selected only when that generation is current, and apply it to tasks only when its per-task mutation token is still current. Do not use the resettable global detailSaving state as the only concurrency guard.

Switching to a different task does not directly replace that task's selection: the existing taskId checks in setSelected prevent it. The bounded impact is a stale board entry, stale state after reopening the same task, or a final server status that does not match the user's latest same-task action.

Review comment at @frontend/src/v2/components/V2PodBoard.tsx at line 802:
In V2PodBoard, add per-task in-flight mutation state that survives openTask
changes and serializes status and detail writes for the same task; do not rely
on resettable detailSaving as the concurrency guard. Track the selected-task
view generation separately, applying responses or rollbacks to selected only for

Nitpick Assert the drawer status after the status change.

675-675: Trivial · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Assert the drawer status after the status change.

The test waits for the PATCH request but does not assert the drawer status. Add assertions that “In Progress” is checked and “Pending” is not.

This covers the visible status transition. It does not, by itself, prove that the drawer consumed the response body because moveTask updates the drawer optimistically before the PATCH resolves.

Suggested test assertion
   await waitFor(() => expect(axios.patch).toHaveBeenCalledWith('/api/v1/tasks/pod-1/TASK-5', { status: 'claimed' }, expect.any(Object)));
+  expect(within(segment).getByRole('radio', { name: 'In Progress' })).toHaveAttribute('aria-checked', 'true');
+  expect(within(segment).getByRole('radio', { name: 'Pending' })).toHaveAttribute('aria-checked', 'false');

Review comment at @frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2PodBoard.test.tsx at line 675:
Extend the test around the axios.patch assertion to verify the visible status
transition in the drawer: within the existing segment, assert that the “In
Progress” radio is checked and the “Pending” radio is not checked. Keep the
assertion scoped to the drawer status controls.

The zhNumberUnitSpacing guard requires no space between a numeral and the
hanzi after it. The new 显示 {{count}} 条 string broke it.

c5982d9

GATE review for TASK-699 (drawer, status segment, folded updates). Head is c5982d9.

  • CI on this head: all checks pass, including Frontend tests, Test & Coverage, CodeRabbit, and coderabbit-threads.
  • The earlier red run was the zh-CN spacing guard in zhNumberUnitSpacing.test.ts. The fix is the string 显示{{count}}条更早的更新 (no space before 条).
  • Local at this head: V2PodBoard suite 23/23, v2-layout-invariants 276/276, i18n suites 333/333.
  • Browser walk at 1440 and 390 was done earlier on a production build against a fixture board. It is not on prod.
  • Not done yet: the dark-mode walk. It's a follow-up, not a blocker for this gate.
