fix(dm-room): the room's head leads with its agent, and the panel starts closed - #3279
A 1:1 room with an agent opened like any team pod: the title stood alone in the head, and the right-hand panel opened by default, taking a third of the width for a room that only has two members. The artboard's DM frame leads with the agent's face and leaves the panel closed.
Head. When the room is an agent room with one agent, a 28px face (radius 7px) renders before the title. The title no longer stretches, so the meta line sits beside it and the actions stay right.
Panel. 1:1 rooms (agent-room, agent-dm) keep their own collapsed state under a separate key and start closed. Team pods keep theirs, so closing the panel in a DM no longer closes it everywhere, and the reverse.
Artboard. Adds the .av--28 and .av--56 sizes the DM and first-run frames use.
Proof
frame-diff, Scout room against the dm frame, local build against prod (read-only):
1440: before OVER at layout 0.287 with the panel as an unmatched region; after ok at layout 0.051, structure 0.182.
390: ok at layout 0.023, structure 0.1.
Tests: a 1:1 room starts with the panel closed and keeps its own choice (V2LayoutSelection); the head shows the agent's face (V2ThreadStarter); invariant for the 28px face and the non-stretching title (v2-layout-invariants).
…rts closed
Lifts the DM room onto its d215 frame at 1440:
- A room with one agent leads its head with that agent's 28px face, then
the name, then its runtime and DM chips beside the name rather than
across the header. The panel toggle keeps the right edge.
- The pod panel (members, board, files) is a team pod's furniture. A 1:1
room now keeps its own panel state, starting closed, so opening it in a
room doesn't open it in every team pod and closing it in a team pod
doesn't close it in rooms. The type comes from the sidebar's list, so a
room never paints the panel while its detail loads.
The artboard used av--28 and av--56 without defining them; both are now
declared on the same quarter-radius scale as the other sizes.

V2 now stores inspector preferences separately for direct rooms and regular pods. Direct-room headers receive distinct styling, and agent rooms with exactly one bot member display that agent’s avatar before the title.
Changes: Direct-room UI
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Inspector preferences by pod type frontend/src/v2/components/V2Layout.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2LayoutSelection.test.tsx
Direct rooms use a separate saved inspector preference and default to a collapsed inspector. Regular pods retain their existing preference and viewport-based default. The test checks toggling each preference and restoring the room’s saved state.
Direct-room headers receive a modifier class. Agent rooms with exactly one bot member display a decorative 28px avatar before the title. Styles and tests cover the header layout; the artboard adds 28px and 56px avatar size variants.
Some rooms may lack an agent avatar, and a mobile navigation can change the team panel preference. These are bounded UI issues suitable for follow-up if accepted.

Review at c369020. No blocking defects. The touched suites pass, 397 of 397. The new V2LayoutSelection test fails when directPod is forced to false, so it does exercise the change.
Hook order.toggleInspector and openInspector now sit after useV2PodDetail and before the only early return, so no hook is called conditionally. Both write the key that matches directPod. The phone listener collapses both states.
INVITE_BLOCKED_POD_TYPES is exactly {agent-room, agent-dm}, which matches DM_POD_TYPES_GUARD. agent-admin is correctly not in it.
Avatar. It renders only when isAgentRoom && botMembers.length === 1, so botMembers[0] exists. aria-hidden is right, because the title names the agent next to it. The --direct modifier applies only to the 1:1 types.
CSS..v2-thread .v2-pod-header__avatar .v2-avatar (0,3,0) beats the base 36px rule (0,2,0). The modifiers are scoped to --direct, so team headers are unaffected.
nit, V2Layout.tsx:184. The comment claimed a room never paints the pod panel while its detail loads. That's false for a room not yet in the sidebar list (a cold deep link, a just-created "Talk to"), which shows the team default for one fetch. It's cosmetic, but the comment should say so.
nit, phone. The --direct meta margin and the 28px face also apply at 390. Check that against the d215 390 frame in a real browser. (The writer's frame-diff at 390 reads ok at layout 0.023.)

Re-stamp at b598bb9. The only change since c369020 is the comment at V2Layout.tsx:184-185, which now says a room not yet in the sidebar list reads as a team pod until its detail loads. That closes the nit. No code changed, so the earlier findings and test results hold. The phone nit stays covered by the writer's 390 frame-diff (ok, layout 0.023).

Resolve the agent when isBot is absent.

Resolve the agent when isBot is absent.
Older member payloads can omit isBot, as the directAgent resolver notes. In that case, botMembers is empty and the room has no header avatar, even when the installation identifies its agent. Use the resolved agent member here and test that payload shape.

Update the header-avatar condition in the V2Thread component to use the resolved
directAgent member when older payloads omit isBot and botMembers is empty, while
preserving the existing behavior for identified bot members. Add a test covering
an agent payload without isBot where the installation resolves the agent.
Gate the inspector backdrop until room detail exists.

Gate the inspector backdrop until room detail exists.
When navigation selects a direct room that is absent from pods, V2Layout keeps the team inspector state open while detail.pod loads. V2Inspector returns null, but the backdrop remains clickable and persists the team preference. Render the backdrop only when detail.pod exists.

In V2Layout, gate rendering of the v2-inspector-backdrop button on detail.pod
being available, so it cannot appear while a selected room’s detail is still
loading. Keep the existing inspector and collapse-state behavior unchanged.
Cover both direct pod types during same-mount navigation.
Cover both direct pod types during same-mount navigation.
The current test unmounts V2Layout before rendering the team pod, so it does not exercise state across pod navigation. Add a same-mount test for both agent-room and agent-dm.
Testing only agent-room would not detect an agent-dm omission from INVITE_BLOCKED_POD_TYPES; the room case would still pass. Both types share the same branch, but both are required to protect the changed contract.

Update the V2Layout selection test around renderAt so navigation from each of
agent-room and agent-dm to the workspace pod occurs without unmounting the
layout. Assert the expected invite-blocking behavior for both pod types,
preserving the existing same-mount state across navigation.
