feat(hosted-mcp): Latchkey catalogue entry, operator key, hidden on dev - #3352
Adds Latchkey to the hosted-MCP catalogue as an operator-key entry (TASK-330, F07). It ships hidden on dev until the walk passes.
Why now: the entry was waiting on vendor tool annotations. On 11-01 Latchkey's tools/list annotated 0 of 19 tools. A fresh capture on 11-03 (walk key, initialize + tools/list, the key never logged) shows 22 tools, all annotated. So the entry can follow the catalogue's normal rule: a tool is pinned read only on the vendor's own readOnlyHint: true.
The entry:
credentialMode: 'operator_key': Latchkey takes a bearer lk_live_ key, so there's no issuer, client or scopes. The key's reach is chosen when it's created (read-only by default, dispatch opt-in), and connectNotice says so.
16 reads pinned read, and 5 writes pinned write, which the broker turns into write-with-confirm for the key owner. dispatch_workflow, run_workflow, run_job and cancel_job are also irreversible, so they park even on a write grant.
apply_migration is not pinned. Operator-key intake already refuses a key that carries migration:apply.
accessPage and revoke.page are both https://latchkey.dev/dashboard, the management_url that Latchkey's own MCP manifest declares (/.well-known/mcp/manifest.json). Its docs say keys are created and revoked under Settings → API keys and agents there. Latchkey has no revocation endpoint, so none is set.
Descriptions are ours; schemas and annotations are pinned byte-for-byte from the capture.
values-dev.yaml adds latchkey to hostedMcp.hiddenEntries, following the rule that unwalked entries ship hidden.
Test (written first): hostedMcpEntry.test.js:
the pin equals the capture minus apply_migration
each class follows the vendor hint
schemas and annotations match the capture
16 reads; 5 write-with-confirm; 4 irreversible
the dashboard is both the access and revoke page
the catalogue order includes latchkey
Reverse checks, each fails the new test:
pinning one read as write
dropping irreversible from run_job
unregistering the entry
Every suite that reads the catalogue: 22 of 23 pass (507 tests). The one failure is stagingSeed.test.js, whose two tests need to run inside a git checkout; the container copy isn't one, and CI is. Helm suites 7/7. tsc clean.
Frontend: every catalogue id needs a platform glyph (platformGlyphCatalogue.test.tsx), so Latchkey gets an original key outline, not the vendor's mark. The contract test passes 8/8 and fails 2 with the map entry removed.
Known gaps, not fixed here:
Staging hides no entries, so a Latchkey tile shows there.
The shell has no paste-a-key UI yet: Connect on that tile calls the OAuth start route, which answers unknown_entry.
The F07 walk goes through the operator-key API, and dev keeps the entry hidden until a key-entry UI exists.
Owed after merge: the F07 walk on prod with the walk user allowlisted. A hosted agent, the walk key, a pinned read, and a write parked for the owner.
Latchkey's MCP server takes a bearer lk_live_ key, so the entry is
operator_key: no issuer, client or scopes. It was waiting on vendor
annotations (0 of 19 tools on 11-01); a fresh tools/list on 11-03 has
all 22 annotated, so the 16 reads pin on the vendor's own readOnlyHint
and the 5 writes are class write, parked for the key owner. Starting or
cancelling compute is irreversible. apply_migration stays unpinned:
operator-key intake already refuses a migration:apply key.
The dashboard is the management page the vendor's MCP manifest declares,
used as both the access and the revoke page; there is no revocation
endpoint. The entry ships hidden on dev until the F07 walk passes.

The hosted MCP catalogue now includes a Latchkey entry with operator-key credentials and 22 tool definitions. Tests compare its configuration and tool metadata with a captured server response. Development Helm values keep the entry hidden pending the F07 walk. The frontend adds a Latchkey platform glyph.
Adds Latchkey connection metadata, registers the entry in the hosted MCP catalogue, and adds it to the development hidden-entry list.

Defines migration, trial verdict, workflow step, environment, and workflow validation tools. Adds a captured tools-list fixture and tests for entry configuration, tool schemas, annotations, and classifications.
Add the platform glyph frontend/src/v2/icons/platforms/index.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/platformGlyphCatalogue.test.tsx
Adds and registers the Latchkey key glyph. The catalogue test checks its rendered dimensions and SVG geometry.
Team-Commonly/commonly#1400: The entry uses operator-key credentials, but the changes do not describe adding the shell’s API-key input or connect surface.
Merge Risk: Moderate · up to 04d74
Latchkey cannot be connected from its catalogue tile, and agents are not warned that workflow inputs may appear in the run page and logs. Both issues should be fixed before merging.

Qualify the status promised for GitHub Actions runs.
When run_id identifies a GitHub Actions run, Latchkey returns only the jobs it served. It does not return run-level status or conclusion. The current description can mislead consumers into expecting those fields for every run.

Update the run-description text near the run_id handling to clarify that GitHub
Actions results include only the jobs Latchkey served, not run-level status or
conclusion; do not promise those fields for every run.
Restrict the canceljob description to jobs the caller started.
Restrict the cancel_job description to jobs the caller started.
The catalogue description is the only cancel_job text an agent reads. It omits the usage limit that the vendor contract states: cancel only the jobs you started. list_jobs returns jobs from the whole workspace, so an agent can select another user's job for cancellation. Cancellation is irreversible. The repository does not show whether the vendor blocks cancellation of another user's job.

The run_workflow catalogue description omits the captured warning that inputs values appear on the run page and are not hidden in job logs. This description is surfaced through the hosted tool definitions used by agents. Tell agents to use Latchkey secrets instead, and assert both parts of this warning in the catalogue test.

Update the run_workflow catalogue description to warn that input values appear
on the run page and are not hidden in job logs, and instruct agents to use
Latchkey secrets for tokens or passwords. In the catalogue test, assert that the
run_workflow description includes both the job-log visibility warning and the
instruction to set values as Latchkey secrets.

Agreed, fixed in ab7a4db. The run_workflow description now says inputs are recorded on the run page and aren't hidden in job logs, and that a token or password goes in a Latchkey secret instead. The catalogue test asserts both parts, and it fails with the warning removed. I checked the other pinned descriptions against the vendor text: that was the only safety warning the shorter wording had dropped.

Latchkey Connect cannot succeed: the normal action only starts the OAuth flow.
LATCHKEY_ENTRY uses credentialMode: 'operator_key', so isOAuthEntry returns false for it. The hosted catalogue row does not include credentialMode. The Connect button still appears for any available hosted row with no connection. Clicking it posts to the /start route, which returns 404 unknown_entry for non-OAuth entries. The paste route at POST /:entryId/operator-key has no caller in this path. A user therefore cannot connect Latchkey from the connector tile.
Correction boundary: include credentialMode in the hosted catalogue projection. Then branch the action in renderEntryActions so that operator_key entries open a key entry. That entry must submit the pasted key to /:entryId/operator-key. The OAuth /start rejection is correct for non-OAuth entries and should stay as it is.
No patch is proposed. The fix requires changes to the catalogue type and the key form, and those sources were not inspected.

On the outside-diff point in the review at 04d74f9 (Latchkey Connect can't succeed from the tile): agreed. That's why the entry ships hidden on dev in this PR, and the PR body names the gap.
The paste-a-key UI is a separate UI change: carry credentialMode in the catalogue projection, and give operator_key entries a key form that posts to /:entryId/operator-key. It belongs in the connector UI lane, not this catalogue PR.
Until that lands, the entry stays in hiddenEntries, and the F07 walk uses the operator-key route directly.
The /start refusal for non-OAuth entries stays as it is.
One review round (D218): a fresh subagent review, then CodeRabbit and CI. The review's one HOLD was real, a missing platform glyph that would break the frontend catalogue contract. It's fixed at 04d74f9, and the contract test fails 2 with the map entry removed. Lanes covered:
hosted-MCP catalogue: the first shipped operator_key entry
connector UI: the glyph
helm values-dev: hiddenEntries
Checks:
Every suite that reads the catalogue: 22/23 pass (507 tests). The one failure is stagingSeed.test.js, which needs to run inside a git checkout.
Helm suites 7/7. tsc clean.
Reverse checks: a read pinned write, run_job without irreversible, and the entry unregistered each fail the new test. The run_workflow input warning fails it when removed.
The reviewer traced the operator_key path end to end (credentialFor, grants mint, revoke page-only, hiddenEntries on catalogue/submit/mint) and found no OAuth-only field read.
Every CodeRabbit point is answered. The key-entry UI is #3353 (Launch). The entry stays hidden on dev until it lands and the F07 walk passes.
A hosted-MCP entry with credentialMode 'operator_key' (the first is
Latchkey, #3352) now shows a form on its tile: pick one of your agents,
paste that agent's key, then Add key. It posts to the existing
POST /connect/hosted-mcp/:entryId/operator-key, in place of the OAuth
Connect, which answers unknown_entry for such an entry.
- The catalogue projection carries credentialMode: 'operator_key'. It is
omitted for every other entry, so those rows are unchanged.
- Agents come from the pod rosters the page already reads, filtered to
ones the viewer installed. An agent someone else also installed is left
out, and so is an agent already keyed on this entry. When a roster can't
be read, the form says the agents couldn't be read, not "no agents".
- One key per agent. The form stays on the tile and in a granted entry's
drawer while any of the person's agents has no key.
- The key lives only in form state and is cleared on every path. Errors
are fixed sentences keyed by route code; the server's message is never
shown and nothing is logged. Success needs the route's
{ integrationId, status: 'connected' } receipt.
- The input is type=password and autocomplete=new-password, with the
1Password and LastPass ignore attributes.
- en and zh-CN strings, through the skill's two-pass review.
- A layout presence test for the form's flex rule.

Adds Latchkey to the hosted-MCP catalogue as an operator-key entry (TASK-330, F07). It ships hidden on dev until the walk passes.
