Installed agent engines need a native boundary that verifies the exact executable and companion files before launch. This adds manifest artifact descriptors, checksum and path validation, and optional macOS containment for a worker and its descendants. Protected launches keep approval state private and host controls, plugin storage, application code, and the installed engine directory read-only.
The host process contract exposes containment without coupling it to a particular agent adapter. Manifest, launch, containment, and host contract tests stay with these changes; the macOS protection CI lane begins here.
Code flow
Exact declared files are verified before contained launch. Approval state stays private; workspace writes remain possible.
Illustrative flow. Source: host_process.rs, protection.rs.

Validation
TypeScript and host contract tests pass. Native process tests cover exact executable/companion bytes, ownership, cancellation and macOS containment (16 passed). Browser CI workflow integration checks pass (5 tests).
Draft. This is infrastructure for the dependent protection layers; human app acceptance remains pending. The stack preserves the original implementation without functional changes from splitting it.
