Measure the running costs again and drop the window's figures - #100

The README paragraph "Measured, so you know what to expect" and the cost card on the download page carried figures from August. Measured again on the same machine with a release-shaped build of main: - bws list reads 804 entries in 142-216 ms (ten runs after a cold one), so "about a fifth of a second" rather than a quarter - the command line peaks at 18.1-18.9 MB of private memory, so "about 19 MB" rather than 16 The window took 1.1-1.4 s to its first row and 117-118 MB at rest, both far from the 0.8 s and 100 MB the page promised. Those two figures are taken out of the README and every language of the download page rather than replaced. All 21 translations of the page carry the same change and are stamped as following the English again. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

What changes
The README paragraph "Measured, so you know what to expect" and the What it costs to run card on the download page carried figures from August. They are measured again and corrected, and the window's two figures are taken out.
bws listreads themThe card now holds two figures instead of four. The grid is
auto-fit, so the two cards share the width (looked at in a browser). How it was measured
One machine, a release-shaped build of
main(self-contained, single-file), an elevated session, the first run of each series not counted, ranges rather than means. The command line's peaks are read from the process handle after it exits, so a short-lived process cannot slip between two samples. The window was measured both with its relaunch from an administrators-only folder and without it, and frombin. All three ranges overlap, so neither explains the difference from August. The other 21 languages
Every translation of the download page carries the same change: 804 in the opening sentence, "a fifth of a second" in its own words, the window's two cards removed, 19 MB. They are stamped as following the English again, and the site builds with
--strict --require-freshwith no problems.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
