fix(anthropic): recover rejected thinking without local prefix validation - #7147

Carry the bounded payload memo from #7098 without its local prefix validator. Keep legal history edits upstream-owned, and preserve newly issued thinking after a repaired send. Co-authored-by: lcxhh <lcxhh521@gmail.com>
Use each existing dispatch, pacing and send-budget owner. Retry only the current inference, keep completed media side effects, and retain structured replacement refusals. Ordinary continuations after output stay ineligible. Co-authored-by: lcxhh <lcxhh521@gmail.com>
Describe serialized-payload memos, sidecar and empty-retry boundaries, and upstream-owned legal history edits. Co-authored-by: lcxhh <lcxhh521@gmail.com>

Use lidge-jun#7147 recovery without restoring the obsolete lidge-jun#7098 prefix gate. Preserve previous personal dev as first parent and retain its DSH profile patch and real-home write protection through the newer upstream implementations. Keep backup/dev-before-integration-20261015. Validated typecheck, structure, privacy and file-size gates, plus focused isolated synthetic/local-fixture regression tests. This is source integration only; no release, installation or deployment.

Review comments at @src/adapters/anthropic-replay.ts:
- Around line 43-48: Update the replay capture in retain so budget errors
invalidate the optional capture instead of escaping, and stop processing the
current frame when retention fails; apply this at both block and delta call
sites in accept. In finish, move the transient reservation inside the guarded
region and release it only when acquired, so reservation failures also
invalidate the capture without interrupting stream completion. Update the
overflow test to verify accept does not throw, takeAnthropicReplay returns
undefined, and the budget returns to zero.
Review comments at @src/images/loop.ts:
- Line 793: Update the SendBudgetExhaustedError branch in the later-iteration
handling around isTranslatorBudgetExceededError to convert the refusal into the
same structured, non-retryable 429 LoopError used by the eager first-iteration
handler, preserving its status and code for produce(). Keep the
translator-budget error handling unchanged.

Maintainer integration into Exact head |
Summary
Recover the exact Anthropic/Bedrock thinking-signature conversation-binding rejection once on translated Responses HTTP paths. HTTP 400 and initial HTTP-200 stream errors rebuild without the rejected signed/redacted payloads through the existing pacing and send-budget owner. Ordinary delivery, hosted search, image/video iterations and empty-completion retries share one guard. Completed hosted tool results remain in history; semantic output, side effects, cancellation, exhausted budgets and a second refusal prevent replay.
Carries #7098's recovery, bounded selective rejection memo and faithful in-memory search history without its local prefix validator, prefix hashes or observer chain. Successful delivery can memoize only the rejected opaque payloads, preserving newly issued thinking. The recovery remains disabled for legacy sidecars under enforced spend when earlier physical-send receipts cannot be proven. No native Messages beta/body contract changes are included.
Includes contributor #7221's owner-inventory registration by merge commit, preserving its original commit and authorship. The merge with current
devpreserves both owner-inventory entries, the combined test-layout maps and Zen's structured rate-limit type/code handling. The final focused selection includes all test files found byrg -l -g "*.test.ts" opencode-zen tests. The branch includesdev(0036a88503, including #7095, #7261, #7262 and #7235) and preserves signed progress ordering, native-reasoning retention, account-refusal handling and sidecar usage attribution. Signed progress created during a hosted search stays signed in the internal history so a later binding refusal remains recoverable. The progress/search integration test now exercises actual adapter parsing and replay capture. Optional capture-budget pressure invalidates only the capture and preserves healthy final answers; further hosted searches still require a lossless snapshot. Later media-iteration send refusals preserve their non-retryable 429 identity after tool execution.Co-authored-by: lcxhh lcxhh521@gmail.com

Earlier-head runs were intentionally interrupted (exit 143) before review corrections and dev refreshes, and are not counted as passing. The import-graph run covers 1,336 files; a separate full local suite was omitted because active release worktrees share the broad-test runner. The focused set explicitly covers source inventories, golden layout maps, file-size limits and Lab isolation that Bun's import graph cannot reliably discover. The 37 skips include opt-in real-client wire tests and platform-specific checks. No live Anthropic, Bedrock, search or media service was contacted.
Hosted PR CI for this head is tracked in run 38994132436. Current-head functional jobs must finish successfully before merge; older-head, queued, cancelled and skipped jobs are not passing evidence. Prior independent review covered the original carried runtime, and CodeRabbit verified and resolved both follow-up findings in
