feat(ui): the Script pane's last run whole in a Details window - #1516
The Script pane cuts each line's result to 400 characters on one line, so a long answer (raster.gcpFit with compare, layer.fields) can't be read or copied. Details…, on the run's line, opens the last run in a window, Script Results, as View Details does in ArcGIS Pro's Geoprocessing History:
each line folded under its command (line 1: layer.fields), opening to its whole result as indented JSON, monospace, in a scroll of its own, and Copy;
Copy All for the run: its line and each command and result, or the error if it stopped;
the error in red when the run stopped (a run that stops is undone whole by Session::guarded, so the error is all it has to tell); "Nothing ran" for a script of comments only.
How:
ScriptRun keeps the run's lines (ScriptLine: line, command, result as a Value, moved out of the answer, not cloned) and its error. script_out, the pane's lines, is unchanged.
A result is laid out (indented, a row per line) the first time its section opens, not as the run lands, and drawn with ScrollArea::show_rows, at most 24 rows tall, so only the rows in view are laid out however long it is. Copy All formats the run when it's clicked.
The window is drawn at the app's level (lib.rs), so it stays open with the pane closed; it closes by itself when there is no last run.
No new command: the button changes the pane's state, as Run does.
Docs: a paragraph in the Script pane section of docs/user-guide/analysis.md. New strings are left to the catalogues, as AGENTS.md says.
Testing
New analysispane::tests::script_details_show_a_runs_whole_results: each line is folded, an opened result is laid out a row per key with only the rows in view drawn, Copy copies the whole result and Copy All the run, a run that stopped shows why in the pane and the window, the window shows the last run only, "Nothing ran", and the window's ✕ closes it.
Added a Details window for script runs, with expandable results grouped by command, run number, elapsed and start times, and failure information.
Copy an individual result or all results from the window. The run summary continues to show shortened output; Details shows full results and indicates when no commands ran.
Documentation
Updated the user guide with information about script results, run timing, failure reasons, and undoing a run.
The Script pane now retains full per-command results and run errors. A Details window displays those results, provides copy controls, and shows run timing and error information. The pane continues to show truncated previews.

Summary
Capture run results crates/ui-egui/src/analysispane.rs
ScriptRun stores successful command line numbers, commands, and full results, plus any run error. The pane displays successful results or the error and retains the 400-character limit for each preview line.
Display and validate run details crates/ui-egui/src/analysispane.rs, crates/ui-egui/src/lib.rs, crates/ui-egui/src/scriptcolor.rs, docs/user-guide/analysis.md
The Details window displays folded per-command results, copy controls, run errors, or a message when no commands ran. The UI invokes the window, tests cover its behavior, and the user guide describes the run summary and Details window.

A rabbit reads each result line, Then opens Details, neat and fine. Full JSON waits beneath each fold, Copy buttons make the answers hold. Run errors show, and previews stay, The bunny hops contentedly away.
A run that stopped drops the results of the lines before the failure (high confidence). run_script_here in crates/engine/src/cmd/workflows.rs returns Err at the first failing line and discards the earlier results. The pane and the Details window then show only the error. This contradicts the PR body, which says the window and Copy All include each command and result. Inline comment posted at analysispane.rs:1600. The new test covers only a single-line error, so it does not catch this.
Performance
Every line's result is pretty-printed on landing, even when Details… is never opened (low-medium confidence). The strings are kept until the next run, and as_array().cloned() copies the whole ran array. Inline comment posted at analysispane.rs:1611.
The window lays out each full result every frame while it is open (low confidence). The layout is cached by egui, so this is probably small, but a multi-MB result could still cost time per frame.
Security
None found in the changed lines.
Quality
Nits, left for the release quality pass: the docs/user-guide/analysis.md paragraph now has an uneven line break where "On the desktop…" was appended to the Details sentence; and ui.horizontal in the run line may clip in a narrow pane (not checked visually).
AGENTS.md
Screenshots are missing (high confidence). The PR body has only placeholder HTML comments (<!-- pane with the result cut -->, <!-- script-details-pane.png -->, <!-- script-details-window.png -->) where the before/after images should be. AGENTS.md requires screenshots for visible UI changes.
The rest of the diff follows the rules I checked: no unwrap/expect, strings go through tl!/i18n::fmt, no new command, and no dialog from a command. Id::unique("…") is the repo's usual idiom, so I did not flag it.
I did not build or run the tests; this review is from reading the code. I left no earlier concerns alone, because there were no prior review threads.

- Around line 1606-1613: Update the `script_ran` result-conversion path around
`ScriptLine` to avoid eagerly creating duplicate full-size result strings on the
UI path; preserve the complete formatted output for Details, and defer or reuse
formatting until that output is needed.
- Around line 1798-1809: Virtualize the result rendering in the loop over
`r.ran` so off-screen results do not require processing their full text each
frame and visible large results do not allocate a full galley. Preserve the
`Copy` button’s ability to copy the complete `l.result`; use an egui-supported
approach that bounds display work without truncating copied content.

GitHub Pages takes a minute or two to publish a new commit. Newer commits from the fork aren't published until a maintainer adds the preview label (once per commit).
Screenshots: added to the PR body (before, the pane with Details…, the window).
CodeRabbit's "Linked Issues check" (keep the results before an error): see the reply on analysispane.rs:1600: a stopped run is undone whole by Session::guarded, so those results describe nothing left in the project.
The two nits from the review (the docs paragraph's line break, and the run line in a very narrow pane) are left for the release quality pass.
None new. The earlier thread on lost partial results is answered by the author with evidence (Session::guarded rolls back a stopped run), so I left it alone.
Security
None found. Output goes to the clipboard only, and no new input is parsed. Missing or non-numeric fields fall back through unwrap_or and get, not panics.
Performance
show_rows virtualizes by line, but pretty escapes newlines inside JSON strings, so a string result becomes one row. data.convert returns {"text": …} for GeoJSON, CSV, KML, GPX and WKT, so a large export is one row that is laid out whole, and cloned, every frame it is visible. The earlier virtualization thread was answered for many short keys, not for one long line. Inline comment posted at crates/ui-egui/src/analysispane.rs:1835. Confidence: medium-high.
Quality (nits, left for the release quality pass)
docs/user-guide/analysis.md: the new paragraph has a line well over the file's wrap width.
script_ran: a ran value that is missing or not an array becomes an empty run, which the window reports as "Nothing ran". The engine always sends ran, so this is low impact. Confidence: low.
AGENTS.md
Compliant on the points I checked: strings are wrapped in tl! or i18n::fmt, no unwrap/expect in non-test code, no unsafe, egui-only code with no std::time, a test covers both the window and the copy paths, screenshots are included, and no catalogue entries were added.
Checked: 4 earlier threads, 3 left alone (answered or fixed), 1 re-raised with new evidence.

The two performance threads on long single lines and the pane's preview are fixed (rows of at most 200 characters in Details, and the pane's line written no further than the 400 characters it shows), with a regression test.
The docs paragraph's long line is rewrapped.
A ran that is missing or not an array showing as "Nothing ran": the engine always sends ran, so it's left for the release quality pass.
I read the full diff (4 files, +341/−19 in analysispane.rs), the base-branch AGENTS.md, and the five open prior threads. I also checked the engine code the change depends on. I could not build or run the tests in this environment, so the findings below come from reading the code.
No blocking issues. No inline comments posted: nothing reached the bar for one, and the nits are grouped below.
Bugs
None found. Checked the moves out of the answer (Value::take, which runs before the result mapping), the preview byte cap (400 chars fit in 1600 bytes, so a cut UTF-8 sequence always lands past the kept text), rows() at the 200-char boundary and on blank lines, and the error and "Nothing ran" branches. Confidence: high.
Security
None. The change only displays and copies the user's own script results; no new command, file, or network path. Confidence: high.
Performance
Opening Details on a very large result (for example, a data.convert export of tens of MB) runs pretty and rows on the UI thread once, and Copy All formats the whole run synchronously on click. The cost is one hitch per click, not per frame, and the PR documents it. Confidence: low-medium that it matters in practice.
Quality (minor; these can wait for the release quality pass)
ScriptLine::text holds the laid-out rows, not text, and its doc says "text". Renaming it to rows would collide with the rows() function, so the pair would need renaming too. Confidence: high that it's confusing.
The two new tests each repeat the clipboard-extraction closure (copied in one, an inline find_map in the other). A shared helper would remove the duplication. Confidence: high.
pretty returns unwrap_or_default(), so a serialization failure would silently copy an empty string. serde_json cannot fail on a Value, so this is theoretical. Confidence: high that it's theoretical.
A script.run answer with no ran key shows "Nothing ran: the script has no commands.", which would be wrong if the answer shape ever changed. Confidence: low.
AGENTS.md
Conforms as far as I can tell. No unwrap/expect/panic in non-test code; no unsafe. Every new visible literal goes through tl! or i18n::fmt. Nothing new is added to ui-egui below L6. Display truncation is unchanged from before, and the full result is available through Details and Copy. Tests cover both the bounded preview and the long-line split. Docs and screenshots are included.
Prior threads
Left alone: 5 threads.
Four were already addressed in the code: the single long row (rows()), eager formatting at landing (preview and deferred formatting), and per-frame layout (show_rows with the folded headers).
One was answered: partial results of a stopped run. I checked the answer. script.run is registered with the default mutates: true, so Session::guarded restores the whole project on failure, and the partial results describe state that no longer exists.
