Select the frozen upstream API revision 9af1f7b4730c so standalone API consumers and the root module use the same generated configuration types. BREAKING CHANGE: Opt-in CustomNoUpgrade embedded KMS configuration now requires a pluginConfig reference instead of inline type and Vault fields. This dependency bump does not provide legacy migration or rollback support. Assisted-by: LLM Signed-off-by: Chai Bot <chai-bot@redhat.com>
Use API 9af1f7b4730c and client-go 1f34fe8dc069 together. The matching generated clients remove obsolete CRIO v1alpha1 references that otherwise break the control-plane PKI operator build with the new API types. Remove the obsolete September API exclusion without changing Kubernetes, library-go, CAPI replacements, or other dependency requirements. Assisted-by: LLM Signed-off-by: Chai Bot <chai-bot@redhat.com>
Refresh both vendor trees and feature-gated schemas through the canonical update and generation targets for the frozen API and matching client-go. Default and TechPreviewNoUpgrade HC/HCP schemas remain unchanged. BREAKING CHANGE: The CustomNoUpgrade HC/HCP embedded KMS schema requires pluginConfig instead of inline type and Vault configuration. No legacy object migration, downgrade, or rollback compatibility is supplied here. Assisted-by: LLM Signed-off-by: Chai Bot <chai-bot@redhat.com>
Explicitly replace legacy KMS compatibility expectations with the accepted CustomNoUpgrade transition contract for HostedCluster and HostedControlPlane. Cover reference create and update persistence, invalid and legacy request rejection, typed round trips, and Default and TechPreview schema absence. Assisted-by: LLM Signed-off-by: Chai Bot <chai-bot@redhat.com>
Reclassify only the reviewed HC/HCP v1beta1 CustomNoUpgrade KMS required field diagnostic after normal comparison. Match exact asset identities, feature-set annotations, schema fingerprints, and diagnostic metadata. Retain all other errors and existing warnings without mutating schemas. Add negative controls for unrelated changes and mismatched transitions, document the intentional contract break without migration guarantees, and rebuild the checker whenever its Go sources change. Assisted-by: LLM Signed-off-by: Chai Bot <chai-bot@redhat.com>
Keep the exact KMS schema snapshots and their fingerprints unchanged when running codespell. Record the upstream description spelling in the existing word list and explain why it is retained in the checker documentation. Assisted-by: LLM Signed-off-by: Chai Bot <chai-bot@redhat.com>

Summary
openshift/api v0.0.0-20261028095540-9af1f7b4730cand remove the obsolete API exclusion.openshift/client-gotov0.0.0-20261026141621-1f34fe8dc069so generated clients no longer reference the removed config/v1alpha1 CRIOCredentialProviderConfig type. Regenerate dependency, vendor, API and documentation artifacts.Explicit opt-in KMS contract transition
The embedded API server KMS configuration in HostedCluster and HostedControlPlane v1beta1 CustomNoUpgrade schemas now requires
pluginConfiginstead of the old inlinetype/vaultrepresentation. Default and TechPreviewNoUpgrade schemas do not expose this KMS member; cloudspec.secretEncryptionis unchanged.A fail-closed schema-check acknowledgment is limited to the exact old/new KMS schema fingerprints, these two CRDs, version, feature set and field path, and the specific required-field transition. Global required-field errors and unrelated diagnostics remain enforced. Negative controls cover mismatched schemas and unrelated changes. This intentionally rejects the old inline representation; it does not implement legacy migration, conversion or rollback compatibility.
Validation
make verify, make verify-ci,make pre-commit, root/API race tests, lint, dependency verification, PKI and all six binary builds passed.Existing diagnostics
Three auxiliary schema-checker assertions also fail on the unchanged base because of existing warning-versus-error expectations; the actual mandatory schema-check consumer passes. A supplemental whole-diff whitespace probe reports an EOF blank line in an upstream-generated vendor manifest that is byte-identical to upstream; repository formatting hooks exclude vendor, and the remaining scoped whitespace check passes. No vendor normalization or broad checker bypass was introduced.
