Add Cursor MCP install links to BYO and Connect. The deeplink carries this instance's API URL and a placeholder agent key; the issued key stays out of the URL. Add a small repository Cursor rule for contributors.
This PR is stacked on #2568 because both tasks touch the BYO and Connect pages. Rebase on main after #2568 lands.

Summary
Generate and display Cursor links frontend/src/v2/utils/cursorMcpInstallLink.ts, frontend/src/v2/components/V2AgentBYO.tsx, frontend/src/v2/components/V2ConnectPage.tsx
A shared helper builds a Cursor MCP link with the configured API URL and placeholder token. Both setup pages display the link.
Present and verify Cursor setup frontend/src/i18n/locales/*.json, frontend/src/v2/v2.css, frontend/src/setupTests.ts, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/*
English and Chinese strings explain placeholder-key setup. Styling supports the links. Tests verify link configuration and guidance; test setup provides TextEncoder.
The ignore rules allow the Commonly Cursor rule to be tracked. The rule describes pod workflows, listener behavior, agent-key handling, and repository instructions.

The shared link builder follows Cursor's documented name plus base64 configuration shape. Both BYO and Connect use this instance's API URL and encode only a token placeholder; the issued key stays in the local copy path. Tests decode the link and cover a non-Commonly instance. The new links use the existing v2 link and focus styling. Polish reported 28 focused tests, typecheck, scoped lint, and 1200/390 markup checks. The stacked base/CI and real browser UX check remain separate before merge.

The prior review was attached during a head move and named eacdc50 in its first line. This review is for the exact current head. The only added delta rewrites the Cursor rule to state the pod coordination path, the MCP versus listener boundary, and the key handling rule. The link builder and tests I reviewed are unchanged. The stacked base/CI and real browser UX check remain separate before merge.
Credit: @polish implemented the links and clarified the Cursor rule.

UX-GATE: FAIL @ cdc1bb2 — Connect passes; the BYO Cursor block needs three small fixes
Rendered from built bundles at 1200 and 390, en + zh. The BYO page was in its issued state with "Other ways to connect" open, plus /v2/connect in en. Base is the #2568 head 5ccf0ac. Nothing overflows: scrollWidth == clientWidth on every arm. Zero fixture misses and zero external requests. I decoded the deeplink config: it carries PASTE_AGENT_TOKEN_HERE and the issued key never appears in the href.
/v2/connect: PASS. "Add Commonly to Cursor" uses the same 13px/650 accent-text style as "Manage connected CLI devices". At 1200 the guidance sits on the same baseline beside the link. At 390 it wraps cleanly underneath in tertiary 13px, and the 12px rhythm to the next link holds.
BYO, folded alternatives: FAIL.
The hint is styled as body text. The new <p> has no class, so it renders at 14px in primary ink (rgb 16,24,40). The Claude snippet's hint in the same disclosure is .v2-byo__hint, 12px tertiary (rgb 102,112,133). The guidance is louder than the heading's own subtext. At 390 it runs to 3 lines before the link. Fix: <p className="v2-byo__hint">.
The JSON block lost its destination. Base headed it "Use the pod from Cursor via MCP — add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json". This head drops the path in both en and zh, so the 369px JSON block below the link no longer says where it goes. That block is still the only route that carries the real key. Fix: restore the snippets.cursor suffix in en and zh.
The hint comes before the link, and en and zh say different things. "Cursor opens with this instance" describes what happens after the click, but it reads before the user has seen the link. The zh "会连接到此实例" says "connects to", not "opens with". Fix: put the link first, then the hint, and have the hint say what the link leaves to do. For example:
en: "The link adds Commonly with a placeholder key. Replace it in Cursor’s MCP settings with the key above."
Carrying the prior code gate at cdc1bb2 across the focused BYO follow-up. The link now leads the Cursor guidance, the existing hint class styles the explanatory copy, and the en/zh labels name the JSON destination. The regression checks ordering and destination; the Cursor URL/token construction and Connect path are unchanged. UX render verification and CI remain separate.

UX-GATE: PASS @ fa64de6 — all three BYO fixes from my FAIL @ cdc1bb2 are in, re-rendered at 1200/390 in en + zh; /v2/connect unchanged and still passes.
Rebuilt at this head (V2AgentBYO-TU6HruK7.js, V2ConnectPage-AneIFpNs.js) and served from disk with a sample-data API: no live host, a dummy key, no external requests, no fixture misses. BYO is shown with the key issued and "Other ways to connect" open.
Cursor block, top to bottom, at every arm:
Heading: "Use the pod from Cursor via MCP — add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json" (zh "…——添加到 ~/.cursor/mcp.json"). 600 14px, the same as before.
"Add to Cursor": 500 13px cobalt, 82×20.
Hint p.v2-byo__hint: 400 12px/20px rgb(102,112,133), identical to the Claude snippet's hint. It wraps to 1 line in en and zh at 1200, and 2 lines at 390.
JSON command block.
The deeplink config decodes to npx -y @commonlyai/mcp with COMMONLY_AGENT_TOKEN: PASTE_AGENT_TOKEN_HERE. The issued key never appears in the href.
Document scrollWidth equals clientWidth on all six arms (1200 and 390; BYO en, BYO zh, Connect).
Connect: at 1200 the link and its guidance share one row. At 390 they wrap to two lines, and "Manage connected CLI devices" follows 12px below. Byte-for-byte the same measurements as at cdc1bb2.
The delta since cdc1bb2 is two strings per locale, the hint's className and its position, plus one jsdom test that pins the order, the class and the ~/.cursor/mcp.json destination.
Fetched +pull/2584/head and checked out this exact SHA in a detached worktree. Reviewed the ten-file diff against main at 259499e and the merge resolutions against the prior passed head fa64de6. The Cursor formatter, Connect implementation, Cursor regressions, rule, and CSS are unchanged. The BYO resolution preserves both the Cursor import/link and main's hostedCapNotice import and error behavior; locale additions preserve the same independent changes. No Cursor behavior was dropped in the merge.
Both surfaces still build an install link from the current instance's API URL and the fixed PASTE_AGENT_TOKEN_HERE placeholder. The issued agent token stays outside the URL. The focused tests decode the real component hrefs and verify the configured API URL, placeholder, and absence of the issued key. The BYO ordering, hint class and ~/.cursor/mcp.json destination regression still passes. The repository rule keeps MCP tool access distinct from a listener and warns against putting keys into messages, URLs, logs or committed files.

UX-GATE: PASS @ 060eeae — re-gated at this head after the rebase onto main 259499e: rebuilt, re-rendered at 1200/390 in en + zh, and every crop is pixel-identical to my PASS @ fa64de6.
What moved: the PR's own lines did not. Per-path patch-ids from each head's merge base with main are identical for utils, v2.css, locales, .cursor and .gitignore. The components and tests patch-ids moved only because #2568's getApiBaseUrl lines and its two instance-API tests are now in the base instead of in this diff. An interdiff of the +/− lines confirms nothing else changed.
Commands I ran:
git checkout --detach 060eeae5, then REACT_APP_API_URL=http://readme.fixture npx vite build in .dev/wt2584/frontend. Output: V2AgentBYO-6BEOVZF1.js and V2ConnectPage-CEkN3s6J.js.
Ran the same two harness arms as last time, .dev/signal/t2584/g-after-{1200,390}.js, through Playwright. Each serves the build from disk with a sample-data API.
Compared all 10 crops (BYO en/zh with and without the Cursor block, Connect) against the fa64de6 crops in RGB. Every difference bbox is None.
The Cursor block order is the same: the heading with the ~/.cursor/mcp.json suffix, then "Add to Cursor" (500 13px cobalt, 81.6×20; zh 82.3×20), then p.v2-byo__hint (400 12px/20px rgb(102,112,133), the same as the Claude hint), then the JSON block.
The hint is 1 line at 1200 and 2 lines at 390, in en and zh.
The deeplink decodes to npx -y @commonlyai/mcp. Its key is PASTE_AGENT_TOKEN_HERE and the issued key is not in the href. Its COMMONLY_API_URL is the build's instance URL, as #2568 intends.
Connect: at 1200 the link and its guidance share one row. At 390 they wrap to two, and "Manage connected CLI devices" sits 12px below.
scrollWidth equals clientWidth on all six arms. No fixture misses and no external requests.

Re-gated the checked-out delta from earlier CODE PASS head 060eeae. The only production change converts serialized Cursor MCP config to UTF-8 bytes before Base64 encoding. The Unicode URL regression decodes the generated config back to the original API URL and the placeholder token; the BYO and Connect suites retain the existing issued-token exclusion and install-link checks. The jsdom TextEncoder addition is confined to test setup. No CSS, locale or page-render logic changed in this delta.

UX-GATE: PASS @ 8efc05b
ux-lead render gate (Signal), on behalf of lily-shen's pod.
Re-gate after one new commit (fix(cursor): encode install config as UTF-8). git range-diff shows commits 1–6 as =. The only production change is in cursorMcpInstallLink.ts: btoa(JSON.stringify(config)) becomes TextEncoder bytes, then btoa. For an ASCII config that produces the same base64 as before.
Rebuilt from this head and rendered both surfaces: BYO "More ways" (whole section and the Cursor snippet) in en and zh, and the Connect lane, each at 1200 and 390. All 10 crops are pixel-identical in RGB (getbbox() = None) to my renders at 060eeae and fa64de6.
The deeplink config= decodes to the same JSON as before: npx -y @commonlyai/mcp with the fixture API URL and PASTE_AGENT_TOKEN_HERE. The token is still absent from the href.
Link, hint and head styles and boxes are unchanged. There is no horizontal overflow at either width.
The fixture made no external requests and had no API misses.

#2584 CONNECTOR-UI GATE: PASS at 8efc05bb03cb3da0e76d45076c2630208279553d
The Connect and BYO links encode this instance's API URL and PASTE_AGENT_TOKEN_HERE, never the issued agent key. The helper uses UTF-8 before base64, so a Unicode API URL does not break page render. The per-server name and config parameters match Cursor's install-link format. BYO puts the link before its hint, retains the manual JSON destination, and carries both en and zh-CN copy. The new CSS uses the existing accent token and link/focus rules.
At the exact head I ran CI=true ./node_modules/.bin/jest --watchAll=false --runInBand --runTestsByPath src/v2/__tests__/V2AgentBYOListenSnippet.test.tsx src/v2/__tests__/V2ConnectPage.test.tsx src/v2/__tests__/cursorMcpInstallLink.test.ts (20/20), ./node_modules/.bin/tsc --noEmit (pass, after frontend and backend npm ci), and scoped eslint on the changed TS/TSX files (0 errors, four existing JSX-extension warnings). git diff --check origin/main...HEAD and git merge-tree --write-tree origin/main HEAD are clean. A local headless Chrome check with exact-head v2.css and representative markup at 390x844 and 1440x900 confirms both links pick up the accent and the Connect guidance wraps. UX Lead's separate review at this same SHA covers actual built components at 1200/390 in en and zh with no overflow; my markup check is not a substitute for that render. I could not launch the Cursor protocol handler here. At filing, two backend CI jobs remain pending; no completed check is red.
Credit: @polish implemented the links and UTF-8 fix; @ux-lead verified the rendered flow.

TASK-449
Add Cursor MCP install links to BYO and Connect. The deeplink carries this instance's API URL and a placeholder agent key; the issued key stays out of the URL. Add a small repository Cursor rule for contributors.
This PR is stacked on #2568 because both tasks touch the BYO and Connect pages. Rebase on main after #2568 lands.
Verification
Browser check used representative markup because the ego browser is blocked for Commonly seats; the Jest checks render the actual components.
