feat(users): add self-serve account deletion with upload cleanup - #2721
People cannot currently delete their own account, and admin deletion leaves their uploads behind. Add DELETE /api/users/me with explicit confirmation and re-authentication, deleting the human and owned upload metadata/bytes while preserving other users' data and independent agent identities.
Current head: 17a3a4d261347e1a37f8e30a311cf5371e86066d. Both current-head formal code-read gates end GATE: PASS: Rhea and Sable. Neither reviewer independently ran tests. All applicable current-head checks pass, including both base guards, CodeQL, real-DB shards and CodeRabbit threads. Skipped: Release Branch Guard. Integrated main b46672f, including #2742's administrator-mutation lock. Resolved the role-handler conflict by retaining both the shared lock/recount and the atomic deletion-marker predicate. Previous 3fa3793 and ddb363c verdicts/asks are superseded. Ready for Lily's merge press at this unchanged head. Lily requires a separate deployment after the 2026-10-26 batch and a dedicated live deletion/Stripe walk before the privacy claim is enabled.
Browser JWT only, body {confirmation:'DELETE', password?}. Password accounts require the current password. OAuth-only accounts require a provider sign-in within five minutes, proved by a signed claim emitted only at the one-time OAuth exchange. Refresh cannot manufacture that proof. Success returns 204; cleanup failures return retryable 503.
Administrators hand off their role first: another admin makes this a member account before deletion. Concurrent admin deletions refuse without changing either account. Atomic target-document predicates prevent promotion and deletion from crossing: deletion marks only a non-admin, and role changes refuse a marked account. This removes the count-then-delete race reproduced in the original implementation.
Delete every owned File, including legacy inline bytes, and its object-store bytes. Ownership comes from File.uploadedBy. Avatars and uploads shared into pods are included; other people's and agents' uploads remain. New upload keys carry an ownership namespace so cleanup also finds bytes whose metadata save failed.
Delete the human User, embedded API/device tokens and authorized device/OAuth login state. Revoke owned AgentCredentials and descendants, remove machine registrations and disconnect browser sockets. The human is removed from ordinary Mongo/PG pod memberships. Strict 1:1 agent-room/agent-dm pods retain both historical member IDs in both stores, with a Deleted user label in pod reads and runtime context; shared pods remain with only an opaque historical creator reference and no automatic ownership transfer. Other humans' and agents' memberships remain. Active installations made by the human pause. Independent agent User identities, memory, memberships and installation records survive; other humans' installations remain active (ADR-001). Unattributed legacy agent keys are not reclassified as human-owned keys.
Shared messages/posts remain. PostgreSQL's author join retains a Deleted user tombstone without an avatar. Account deletion does not scrub personal details typed into shared messages.
Atomically claim a non-admin deletion before canceling a linked Stripe subscription, using an account-and-subscription idempotency key, a 30-second timeout and no automatic network retry. Promotion winning first causes refusal before Stripe is called. Cancellation failure releases only this attempt's marker and preserves credentials/uploads. A timeout can have an unknown provider outcome; retry uses the same key. Stripe retention, billing audit records and backups remain outside this removal.
Ten deletion attempts and sixty uploads per authenticated user per fifteen minutes, independent of session rotation and forwarding headers. Coarse pre-auth limits (120 deletion / 6,000 uploads) use a SHA-256 digest of the presented credential. Anonymous traffic has a distinct bucket, so it cannot exhaust an authenticated user's bucket. Rotating invalid secrets can evade this coarse bound; it is not a substitute for ingress abuse protection. No shared socket-peer or untrusted forwarding-header key is used. The touched admin-role mutation uses the existing admin write limiter. Pod create, leave and member-removal routes now share a60/min presented-token lifecycle budget, following three CodeQL findings exposed by the read-helper change. Retired baseline entries are removed.
Settings includes explicit DELETE confirmation, optional password, password-required focus/retry, fresh OAuth sign-in returning to Settings without auto-deletion, server error recovery and logout only on success. English/Chinese copy discloses upload deletion, subscription cancellation, retained messages, paused owned runtimes and surviving agent identities/memory.
Cleanup across stores and late writes
A durable marker refuses new uploads and ordinary human session use. Shared session verification refuses pending deletion for HTTP, sockets/packets, attachments and hosted connectors. Access cleanup disconnects existing browser sockets. Only password/fresh-OAuth DELETE retry and a minimal read-only GET /api/auth/user bootstrap remain available; the bootstrap lets Settings reopen after reload/provider sign-in and grants no pod/profile/refresh access. The sweep first recovers up to 100 stale authorized markers whose receipt write failed, excluding fresh billing claims and users with existing receipts. Recovery repeats billing preflight before creating a receipt and retains failures for retry. Successful cleanup of a retained human is finalized through a re-authenticated browser retry. A minimal AccountDeletion intent retains the opaque user id and timestamps after User removal; it has no TTL. A one-minute scheduler tick processes at most 100 least-recently-attempted receipts under a renewable two-minute cluster lease. Failed receipts rotate too; failures aggregate after other receipts are attempted. Expiry recovers a crashed worker and cleanup remains idempotent if an expired worker finishes late.
The sweep reapplies access revocation, author redaction and upload deletion, including late uploads that fail cleanup after the human is gone or lose their File metadata. A large queue can need multiple ticks to revisit a receipt. In the initiating request, bytes are removed before File metadata; storage/PG failure retains the human for a re-authenticated retry.
Runtime mint/backfill checks deletion intent before and after writes. Late new keys are removed from every token store, including legacy reprovision paths without an issuer ledger. An existing key belonging to someone else is preserved. Runtime auth independently refuses credentials of deleting owners before a later sweep. See docs/api/account-deletion.md for the contract and boundaries.
Validation
Current integration: seven focused suites 244/244, including all 51 composed deletion/admin cases and main’s CORS/hosted-MCP regressions. Source typecheck and diff check pass. Automatic main merge with no manual resolution; the composed role handler is byte-identical to 3fa3793. Only PR-owned documentation adds the accepted nonblocking TASK-006 hard-delete overlap. All 21 current-head CI checks pass.
Sable formal code-read PASS on prior 3fa3793: feat(users): add self-serve account deletion with upload cleanup #2721 (review). Its main-integration prerequisite is now implemented. The cancelled guard runs she cited had successful replacements on that same old head at 22:11 and 22:15 (REST check-runs independently verified); those cancellations did not describe all runs. New head still requires its own checks/reviews.
Combined deletion and administrator concurrency service suites: 51/51 against real MongoDB 7 and PostgreSQL 16, and 51/51 in the default fixture. Stripe is mocked. The two new handler interleavings prove promotion wins before deletion's marker (409 before Stripe), and deletion wins after the role target read (promotion 409 with the marked account still a member).
Removing only the marker predicate makes the new deletion-wins test return 200 instead of 409. Bypassing only the role lock makes both demotion/demotion and demotion/admin-delete races leave zero administrators (second response 200). Restored code passes the four paired controls.
Admin route, hosted-row refusal and synthetic purge focused suites: 32/32. Updated concurrency barriers/write-error mocks to intercept the atomic role query, preserving unknown-write lock-retention coverage. Backend source typecheck, targeted TypeScript lint and diff check pass.
Initial local aggregate had two obsolete role-test hooks and two unexpected backfill outcomes. The hooks were updated for the atomic query; backfill cases passed in isolation and both final full service runs. Backfill tests now capture nested deletion status outside the issuer's best-effort catch so an assertion cannot disappear inside it. No production credential change was made to explain those initial outcomes.
Earlier frontend validation: 1,757 Jest tests, four script tests, typecheck/build and mocked production browser walks at 1440/390 passed. This integration adds no UI changes. Earlier broad backend aggregate was 336/337, with an existing profile-write mock HTTP404; it is not reported as green. Full current-head CI is required.
Earlier deletion controls cover late upload/mint/backfill cleanup, legacy reprovision without issuer ledger, other-owner preservation, OAuth freshness, receipt recovery, quota/limiter census, retained DM pairs in both stores, missing-user reads and owned-only pause. Detailed contract: docs/api/account-deletion.md.
Remaining boundaries
No deployed deletion or live Stripe cancellation has been verified. The minimal pending-account bootstrap still includes the human's own email (accepted nonblocking review note). Invalid-secret rotation can evade coarse pre-auth buckets. TASK-004 tracks receipt capacity and safe retirement; receipts retain no TTL. TASK-005 tracks the pre-existing synthetic-purge DM membership cleanup defect accepted as nonblocking for #2742. TASK-006 tracks administrative hard delete ignoring the pending self-deletion marker; source read confirms the gap, but no controlled orphan reproduction or fix is claimed here. The account-deletion path preserves DM pairs.
#2742 merged first as 8f7c16b. This integration preserves its non-expiring shared lock, actor recheck, recount, beginWrite/unknown-outcome semantics and owner-qualified release. Self-deletion claims do not take that lock, so the atomic accountDeletionRequestedAt-absent role update remains necessary. See docs/runbooks/admin-user-mutation-lock.md for quiescing all old writers during rollout and orphan recovery. Both exact-head formal reviews now end GATE: PASS. Merge requested from Lily at this unchanged head; deployment and live verification remain separate.
It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.
Adds a self-serve account deletion flow in settings and a backend endpoint. The backend validates requests, cancels subscriptions, removes or anonymizes account data, and retries incomplete cleanup. Upload, runtime-token, and administrator-role operations check deletion state.
Adds deletion-request and OAuth authentication timestamps. The endpoint validates confirmation and authentication. The settings form submits deletion requests and handles success and error responses.
Cancels subscriptions before cleanup, revokes owned access, removes uploads, anonymizes the PostgreSQL chat author, and removes the human user row. A scheduled sweep retries cleanup using receipts and a lease.
Checks deletion state during uploads, runtime-token issuance and authentication, and administrator role updates. Adds transport-peer and authenticated-user rate-limit keys and applies route quotas.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2644: Both PRs specify how shared message history is retained during account cleanup.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2688: Both PRs involve the OAuth first-session contract; this PR adds its timestamp to support recent reauthentication.

Cover the retained-user branch in the in-flight upload test.
The current test deletes the user before the post-save lookup, so it covers only !remainingUploader. The retry test starts after deletion has returned and covers only the initial guard.

Serialize last-admin validation with account deletion.
DELETE /api/users/me can serve two authenticated human administrators at the same time. With two human administrators, both requests can read a count of 2, pass the LAST_ADMIN check, and later delete different administrator rows. The separate count and User.deleteOne(...) calls do not reserve an administrator. Both deletions can therefore succeed and leave no human administrator.
Add a shared atomic guard or transaction that serializes the count with administrator deletion. Apply the same guard to administrator-role changes.

Isolate each receipt's cleanup so one failure does not stop the sweep.
The sweep has no per-receipt error handling. If revokeOwnedAccess, anonymizeChatAuthor, or deleteOwnedUploads throws for one receipt, the loop exits. Receipts after that one are not attempted in that tick. If the failure persists, the next tick starts with the same receipt and fails again, so later receipts can stay uncleaned indefinitely. The scheduler logs only the error name, so the stall is hard to see.
Attempt every receipt, collect the failures, and throw one aggregate error after the loop. The scheduler still records that the sweep failed.

Fence runtime-token issuance during account deletion.
A request can pass the active-installation check before deletion starts and resume after revokeOwnedAccess and a deletion sweep. issueRuntimeTokenForAgent can then create an active AgentCredential because it checks only in-process state, not accountDeletionRequestedAt. agentRuntimeAuth accepts that credential without checking the installation or deleted owner, so it can remain usable until a later sweep.
Apply the deletion-state fence inside issueRuntimeTokenForAgent, including the existing-token backfill path. Recheck the marker after the credential write and revoke any credential created after deletion began.

Assert that refused uploads write nothing before storage.
The unit fixture always returns an existing uploader without a deletion marker, so the new pre-storage refusal is never reached in this file. Add tests for a marked uploader and a missing uploader. Each should expect a 403 and assert that no bytes are stored and no File metadata is saved. The service test keeps failed cleanup retryable and blocks new uploads sends an upload for a marked user, but it checks only the 403 status. No test checks that the refused upload left no write behind.

Make the rate-limit test distinguish middleware order.
The 60 requests omit a file. uploadSingle calls next() for that input, and handleUpload returns the 400. Authentication is also mocked to always continue. The test therefore passes if the limiter moves after auth or uploadSingle.
Use a disallowed file for the request after the bucket is full:
If the route must also remain before auth, add a separate case with an authentication middleware that rejects. The current authentication mock cannot cover that ordering.

feat(users): add self-serve account deletion with upload cleanup #2721 (comment): upload and deletion quotas use authenticated user IDs after auth, plus coarse socket-peer limits before auth. Forged CF/XFF headers and rotating sessions cannot reset a user's quota. Existing Cloudflare helper behavior elsewhere is unchanged.
feat(users): add self-serve account deletion with upload cleanup #2721 (comment): atomic non-admin claim now precedes Stripe cancellation. Promotion-first regression asserts no cancellation. Billing failure releases only its own claim and preserves data/credentials. Provider requests have a bounded timeout and stable account/subscription key; external timeout outcome remains a provider boundary.
feat(users): add self-serve account deletion with upload cleanup #2721 (comment): reproduced receipt-write failure leaving a marker without scheduled recovery. The sweep now recovers stale authorized markers without receipts, repeats billing preflight before creating a receipt, and renews its lease between recoveries. Fresh preflights are excluded. Disabling recovery fails the added regression.
Validation: 29/29 service tests on real MongoDB 7/PostgreSQL 16; 239/239 focused backend tests across 19 suites; backend typecheck and targeted lint pass. Lark's Settings UI is combined: 1,757 frontend Jest tests, four script tests, typecheck and build pass. Browser evidence is mocked API/auth, not deployed deletion. Stale quota prose contradicts the new "Request quotas" section.
This PR moved the limits to per-user keys after authentication, plus a coarse transport-peer bucket before authentication. Lines 16-19 still say both limits are "per client address" and run "ahead of authentication and multipart parsing".

The deletion limit is now 10 per user per 15 minutes, plus a 120-request peer bucket before it.

The global CF-header probe correctly exposed four intentionally shared buckets:
new socket-peer ingress limits and authenticated user quotas for deletion/upload.
Capture exact construction policies by getKey (preserved through Express's
middleware wrapper) and probe each new policy's identity with CF held constant.
Pin the four policy/route pairs, count A,A,B for every instance, and retain the
legacy CF separation controls. No limiter is excluded from measurement.
The updated seven-test census passes. Record Lily's ruling to preserve agent
identities under original ownership and leave them detached after deletion.

Follow-up at 58d932d: the backend shard failure at 49ab23f was the global limiter census requiring every limiter to separate on cf-connecting-ip. The four new quotas intentionally share a bucket when only that untrusted header changes. The test now captures the exact configured key function through the limiter's preserved getKey method (Express wraps the middleware function), pins the two peer/two user policy-route pairs, and runs counted A,A,B requests varying the declared identity while holding CF constant. No limiter is exempted. All seven census tests pass; existing CF negative/positive controls remain.
Lily also ruled to preserve agent identities and leave them detached under original ownership. The contract doc and PR body now state that self-serve re-attachment is unavailable after deleting the original owner; no transfer/admin recovery is introduced. Decision: https://commonly.me/v2/pods/6addd4d47f8fc798a6f66bbb#message-86052.
Current-head CI is running. No final gate or press yet.
Please attack the combined deletion flow: browser-only re-authentication; only owned uploads/credentials removed; independent agent identities/memory and other owners' data survive; concurrent upload/runtime issuance cannot escape durable cleanup; promotion cannot cross deletion eligibility; billing failure preserves account/data; bounded receipt recovery does not delete before billing succeeds.
Lily ruled to preserve agent identity and original ownership, leaving it detached with no automatic re-attachment/transfer after its owner is deleted. Administrators must hand off their role before self-deletion. Shared messages remain, with a PG author tombstone. These rules and retry/provider boundaries are in docs/api/account-deletion.md and the PR body.
All current-head CI has finished with no failures. Local evidence: real MongoDB/PostgreSQL deletion 29/29; focused backend239/239 across19 suites; quota census7/7; frontend1757/1757 plus4 Node script tests; typechecks/lint/build pass. Guard mutations fail their paired assertions. Combined production UI was walked in an isolated browser at1440/390 with mocked auth/API, no page errors or horizontal overflow; OAuth next/confirmation reset and 204 logout checked. Local harness /tmp/sprint-impl-delete-browser.cjs and screenshots /private/tmp/sprint-impl-delete-{1440,390}.png. Deployed deletion and live Stripe cancellation remain unverified external boundaries.
Lark authored the UI and is not a gate for it. PR remains draft pending your independent verdicts. No press or merge.
Tier 2 gate at 58d932d (rhea, read of the PR diff and docs/api/account-deletion.md)
Re-auth, claim ordering and admin/billing races hold. The gap is what a retained human can still do.
H1 (blocks): a failed deletion leaves a live, half-deleted account.deleteOwnAccount clears deviceTokens and apiToken, sets accountDeletionRequestedAt, then returns 503 when upload or PG cleanup fails. middleware/auth.ts is not in the diff, so the browser JWT still authenticates the account, and tokenVersion is not bumped. The sweep never deletes the human row: User.deleteOne appears only in deleteOwnAccount. The doc says "the browser session stays available for retry until the human row is removed". So a human who never retries keeps full session access (pods, posts, membership) indefinitely. Uploads are refused, which is the only write the marker blocks. Fix options: (a) auth middleware rejects marked accounts except DELETE /api/users/me with fresh proof; or (b) bump tokenVersion at the claim, so the old session dies and the retry needs a fresh sign-in. Option (a) is the tighter one. Either way, update the doc sentence.
M1: receipts never leave. An AccountDeletion receipt is kept after successful cleanup, and the sweep re-runs revoke, PG anonymize and deletePrefix on every receipt, 100 per minute, forever. This is intentional per the doc ("no TTL"). Please confirm the cost is acceptable at scale, or add a reap condition after late producers are fenced.
M2: human pod membership is not handled.revokeOwnedAccess does not touch Pod.members, and the diff does not say what happens to pods the human created. The doc covers agent memberships only. Say what is intended.
Verified and holding: upload namespace plus File.uploadedBy isolation; late uploads re-checked after metadata save; runtime mint and backfill refuse a deleting owner; OAuth claim only at exchange, with refresh not carrying it; admin promotion and deletion are atomic on the target document; Stripe claim comes before the call, with an account-and-subscription idempotency key; PG tombstone clears username and avatar. The PG users table holds no email.

Tier 2 attack on #2721 at 58d932d. I read the diff and the code it touches. I did not run the test suite.
Holds (no defect found):
Re-auth: the route reads the same bearer that auth accepts (Authorization or x-auth-token). oauthAuthenticatedAt is minted only in oauthController.issueSession. The refresh path (authController ~913) passes no fourth argument, so refresh cannot mint the proof. The five-minute window and the claims.id match are enforced.
Admin/deletion race: the claim filters role: {$ne: 'admin'} atomically, and the role route's findOneAndUpdate requires accountDeletionRequestedAt absent. Either order refuses cleanly.
Late uploads: the recheck runs after File.save, and the sweep's deletePrefix runs before File.find. I traced both interleavings and neither strands bytes.
Finding 1 (medium, HOLD reason): the pre-auth buckets are global in production. transportPeerRateLimitKeyGenerator keys on req.socket.remoteAddress. server.ts:121 trusts loopback, linklocal and uniquelocal, so behind the GKE ingress the socket peer is the proxy and all clients share one bucket. uploadIngressLimit (6000/15min) and accountDeletionIngressLimit (120/15min) run before auth. An anonymous client can therefore exhaust uploads for every user for 15 minutes, and deletion attempts from all users share 120 per window.
Fix: run the upload and deletion quotas after auth (keyed by user), or key the coarse bucket on a verified client IP. Otherwise document the global cap as accepted.
Finding 2 (medium, pre-existing, same handler): the last-admin guard is still count-then-update. routes/admin/users.ts ~156-158 runs countDocuments({role:'admin'}) and then the update. Two admins demoting each other concurrently both pass the count and leave zero admins. This PR rewrote that handler and says it removes count-then-act races, but it covers only deletion versus promotion. Fix it here or name it as a follow-up.
Lower, for the author:
Upload bytes shared into pods are deleted, so other members' messages keep text but lose the attachment. The PR says this is intended. Confirm the privacy copy says so.
anonymizeChatAuthor silently no-ops when pool is null, and the 204 still returns. The sweep repairs it later, so this is minor.
Receipts never retire, so the sweep keeps rotating all of them at 100 per minute. That is bounded, but cost grows with lifetime deletions.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Confirming Rhea's blocker from the same head. middleware/auth.ts verifies the JWT (line ~109) and never consults accountDeletionRequestedAt. Only agentRuntimeAuth calls isAccountDeleting. A human whose deletion fails with 503 keeps a live browser session, and the sweep never removes that session. Auth must refuse marked accounts, except DELETE /me with fresh OAuth or password proof.
Finding 1 (the proxy bucket) and finding 2 (the admin count race) from my earlier review stand. The HOLD now rests on three items.
Refuse marked accounts in the shared session verifier for HTTP, sockets,
attachments and hosted connections. Keep only reauthenticated DELETE retry and
minimal read-only AuthContext bootstrap available; disconnect existing sockets.
Remove the human's Mongo/PG pod memberships while retaining shared pods and
opaque creator references. Independent agent memberships remain.
Replace shared socket-peer ingress quotas with hashed presented-credential
buckets before auth and stable account quotas after it. Anonymous exhaustion
cannot consume an authenticated user's bucket. Rotating invalid secrets remain
an ingress abuse boundary, not a claimed protection of this coarse quota.
Real MongoDB/PostgreSQL service31/31; session gap reproduced before fix; restoring
shared-peer key fails the anonymous-exhaustion regression. Typecheck/lint pass.
Expanded local337-case run:336 pass, one unexpected404 in an existing profile
mock; affected fixture passes6/6 isolated. Current-head CI remains required.
Isolated production UI recovers from503+reload with minimal pending identity,
other APIs403, and logs out only after204. Docs name TASK-003 admin-demotion
race follow-up and TASK-004 receipt-retirement bounds.

Rhea and Sable were right about the retained-session gap and the proxy-wide buckets. Fixed at 0027085; the gate request on 58d932d is superseded by this head move. Existing HOLDs are not converted to PASS.
I reproduced the session defect with my own service probe: after deletion returned503, an ordinary protected request still returned204. Shared session verification now refuses the marker for HTTP, socket handshakes/packets, attachment access and hosted connections. Access cleanup disconnects browser sockets. Deletion retry still independently requires password/fresh OAuth.
One narrow read-only exception is necessary alongside DELETE: GET /api/auth/user returns only id, username, email, role and accountDeletionPending. AuthContext needs that bootstrap to reopen Settings after reload/provider sign-in. It grants no pod/profile/refresh access. A new service assertion pins the exact bootstrap keys and rejects ordinary GET/POST/profile access. An isolated production-browser check with that minimal payload and403 from ordinary APIs completes503→reload→explicit retry→204/logout with no page errors.
The shared socket-peer cap was my implementation choice. Documenting its shared nature did not make the anonymous lockout acceptable. It is replaced by pre-auth hashed-presented-credential buckets and post-auth stable-user quotas. Anonymous exhaustion cannot consume an authenticated user's bucket. Restoring the shared-peer key makes the new exhaustion regression fail. Rotating invalid secrets can evade the coarse credential cap, so it is not described as complete ingress abuse protection. The repo's pre-auth guard and every limiter's counted identity probe remain enforced.
Human memberships are now removed from Mongo Pod.members and PG pod_members; shared pods retain opaque historical creator references and no automatic transfer occurs. Other humans' and agents' memberships remain. Shared text remains but deleted-owned attachments disappear. Receipt revisit cost grows with lifetime deletions; TASK-004 tracks retirement after all late producers are proven fenced.
The distinct pre-existing concurrent admin-demotion count race is named explicitly in the doc/body and tracked as TASK-003. Sable's first review allowed a named follow-up; I requested clarification about the later HOLD wording. This PR only fences target promotion versus deletion, and makes no claim to fix that separate demotion race.
Validation:31/31 service tests on real MongoDB7/PostgreSQL16, source typecheck and targeted lint pass. 224d08d adds the existing probe limiter before auth on the four newly introduced local service-fixture routes. This addresses the five CodeQL annotations from0027085a:
Service31/31 pass after the fixture change. Runtime code is unchanged from0027085a, including the session refusal/recovery bootstrap, credential/user quotas and membership cleanup described above. CI is running on this new head; prior HOLDs remain pending fresh review and there is no press.
@Rhea@Sable Fresh Tier2 review requested at 224d08d. The old58d932dd request is superseded; its HOLDs remain unresolved until your new verdicts.
Workflow CI, including all backend/real-service shards, E2E, frontend, typecheck/lint, coverage and CodeQL, now passes. CodeRabbit's automated review status remains pending; all currently posted threads are answered. No press while that status or either gate remains unresolved.
Please attack the two reproduced fixes:
Pending deletion now refuses ordinary human HTTP, sockets/packets, attachment and hosted access. Only fresh-proof DELETE retry and minimal read-only GET /api/auth/user bootstrap remain. The bootstrap is needed for AuthContext to reopen Settings after OAuth/reload, and grants no pod/profile/refresh access. Service tests pin the exact minimal response and refusal paths; isolated UI proof covers503→reload with other APIs403→retry204/logout.
Credential-digest buckets before auth and stable-user quotas after auth replace proxy-wide buckets. Anonymous exhaustion cannot block an authenticated user. Restoring the shared-peer key fails the regression. Invalid secret rotation remains a disclosed ingress boundary.
Human Mongo/PG memberships are removed, shared pods and opaque creator refs remain, other humans' and agents' memberships survive. TASK-004 tracks receipt retirement after late producers are proven fenced.
Please explicitly state whether the named TASK-003 follow-up for the pre-existing admin-demotion count race is acceptable for this gate. Your first review allowed a named follow-up; later wording called it a blocker. It is documented as unfixed, and this PR claims only atomic target promotion versus deletion.
Runtime is unchanged from0027085a; the last commit only rate-limits the new service-test probes that CodeQL flagged.31 real-DB service cases pass; expanded local337-case run had336 pass and one existing profile-mock404, whose six-case fixture passes isolated. Linux workflow CI is now green. Full response: #2721 (comment). No press or merge.
Tier 2 gate at 224d08d (rhea; incremental diff from 58d932d, plus the full-PR context for the auth path)
H1 closed.sessionRefusal now returns deleting, and auth.ts refuses it on the JWT path and the API-token and device-token paths. The only exemptions are exact DELETE /api/users/me and GET /api/auth/user. Sockets, hosted-owner checks and attachment verifiers all go through the same sessionRefusal. revokeOwnedAccess now disconnects sockets too. The session gap I flagged is closed.
B1 (blocks): deletion leaves 1-member DM pods.revokeOwnedAccess now runs Pod.updateMany({ members: userId }, { $pull: { members: userId } }). That also covers the human's agent-room (1:1 human↔agent) and agent-dm pods. Pulling the human leaves one member, which breaks the strict-1:1 invariant (ADR-001 §3.10, DM_POD_TYPES_GUARD, CLAUDE.md "DM pods are strictly 1:1"). Fix: for DM pod types the human is in, archive or pause the pod and leave membership intact. Only plain pods should be pulled. Add a test that a deleted human's agent-room is not left with one member.
N1 (non-blocking): bootstrap returns email.getCurrentUser returns email and role on the deleting path. The recovery UI needs _id, username, accountDeletionPending and a hasPassword-style flag, not email. Drop email from that response.
N2 (decision for lead): invalid-credential traffic has no per-source bound. The pre-auth bucket keys on a sha256 of the presented secret, so rotating bearers gets a fresh bucket each time. Each rejected request still does a DB read in auth.ts. The doc accepts this. Either add a per-client-IP limiter on failed auth (the cloudflare-aware key), or record the accepted risk in the contract doc.
Quotas: the credential bucket for authenticated traffic plus the per-user post-auth quota looks right. The shared no-credential bucket only affects anonymous requests, which already get 401.
TASK-003 ruling: not a blocker for #2721. Split it out as its own PR. The admin route still does countDocuments then findOneAndUpdate. Two admins can demote each other concurrently and reach zero admins. The marker predicate does not cover that. Fix: serialize admin-role mutations through one lock document, or a transaction that writes a shared doc, and recount inside the lock. Add a test where two concurrent demotions leave at least one admin.
Old HOLDs: H1 and the proxy-bucket blocker are closed. B1 is new at this head. Re-gate after B1.
Exclude strict 1:1 DM types from Mongo and PostgreSQL membership removal.
Retain opaque historical member ids while deleting the human account,
anonymizing its PG author and pausing owned runtime installations.
Add service regressions for agent-room and agent-dm membership in both stores.
The previous cleanup fails both cases. Real Mongo7/PostgreSQL16: 33/33.
Default service: 33/33 before pause assertion; final targeted repeat 2/2.
One intervening targeted run hit the known intermittent route404.
Source typecheck and targeted lint pass.
Reviewer lifecycle clarification remains pending: Pod has no archive field.
This local commit does not claim to satisfy the new HOLD until re-reviewed.

Integration checks pass: backend100/100 across deletion, OAuth, signup source, invite funnel and scheduler lease fixtures; frontend68/68 across deletion/Settings/OAuth/signup/invite UI; backend source typecheck and targeted lint0errors. In the merged tree, comparing the overlapping backend files against newmain shows only the intended deletion bootstrap/marker/index, fresh OAuth proof, member projection and recovery sweep. Main's signup attribution, invite telemetry and scheduler behavior are retained. No production UI edits in this merge.
I will request the current-head delta gate after CI; no press yet.
ddb363c — delta carry of GATE PASS at 60c5670 (Rhea, delta review)
Scope: the only change since 60c5670 is the merge of main (parent 2 = 0fc405c). CI on ddb363c is green (all checks SUCCESS, mergeStateStatus CLEAN).
Method: diffed 60c5670...ddb363c (128 files; 7 overlap PR-owned paths). Checked every removed line in the overlap hunks against the PR's own diff. None of the removed lines (signupRefField, cleanSignupRef, the digest-wake threshold block, the AgentInstallation.exists guard) appear in the PR diff, so the merge reverts none of the PR's lines. PR-added hunks in schedulerService (accountDeletionUploadJob, return list) and podInvites (podMemberPopulate import and populate) are outside the delta hunks and intact.
Verdict: the 60c5670 code verdict carries to ddb363c for the PR-owned paths. The delta itself is main's own change, which is not re-reviewed here; main's gates cover it. Sable's Tier 2 gate on the merge head still applies.
Still open and non-blocking: N2 (invalid-credential pre-auth bound) is recorded as accepted risk.
@Sable Delta gate requested on exact ddb363c. Current workflow CI, CodeQL and thread check pass; CodeRabbit reports PASS / Review paused. Rhea has carried her code-read PASS to this merge head in comment6402910931.
The merge of main0fc405cbe was automatic with no manual resolutions. Backend100/100 and frontend68/68 integration checks, backend typecheck/lint pass. Please confirm the main overlap preserves the deletion marker/promotion guard, fresh OAuth proof, minimal pending bootstrap and historical DM projection alongside signup attribution/invite changes. Detail: #2721 (comment). Your old60c56709 PASS remains superseded for press. No new production edits since the merge. No press until your current-head verdict.
Checked: git diff 60c567092 ddb363c74 -- <the PR's 2721 file list> is empty. The only delta is the main merge (128 files), which the PR does not own. Those files come from PRs already on main. The main-side interaction is covered by CI, which is green at this head: backend tests, typecheck and lint, frontend, service tier 1, CodeQL, and the stale-base guard. Mergeable is CLEAN.
The #2742 condition still stands: whichever of #2721 and #2742 lands second keeps the admin-role lock and #2721's deletion-marker guard on the role PATCH.
@lily-shen Press requested for #2721 at exact ddb363c. Both current-head code-read carries are PASS: Rhea #2721 (comment) and Sable #2721 (comment). Current workflow CI, CodeQL and thread check pass; CodeRabbit reports PASS / Review paused. These verdicts do not claim independent test execution.
Merge only one of #2721 and #2742 at its currently reviewed head. #2742 also has a pending press request. Whichever lands second must first integrate and test BOTH the shared administrator mutation lock and the atomic deletion-marker promotion predicate, then obtain fresh current-head gates. Do not merge both unchanged branches. If #2742 lands first, this #2721 press request is superseded until that integration.
Settings UI and isolated mocked desktop/mobile proofs are included. Live deletion and Stripe cancellation remain unverified; the privacy page self-serve claim stays held until deployed verification. Follow-ups TASK-004 (safe receipt retirement) and TASK-005 (pre-existing synthetic-purge DM scope) remain open. No rollout or live-data operation is requested here.
Lily ruled in https://commonly.me/v2/pods/6addd4d47f8fc798a6f66bbb#message-87217 that #2742 lands first. My ddb363c press request6403667811 is retired. After that merge I will integrate both the shared administrator lock and the atomic deletion-marker guard, validate the composed races, and obtain fresh current-head gates before a new press.
#2721 deploys separately after the batch with its own live deletion/Stripe walk. Current mocked proofs and CI do not certify either live operation. No review re-ping: Lily is already coordinating review-format corrections on #2742.
Integrate main b1b311e, including merged #2742. Resolve the admin role conflict by keeping shared mutation serialization/recount and the atomic target deletion-marker predicate. Self-deletion claims do not take the global lock, so both guards remain necessary.
Add actual-handler tests for both promotion/deletion orders, update role-query concurrency hooks, and document the composed contract. Capture nested deletion responses outside the issuer backfill catch in service probes.
Validation: real Mongo7/PG16 combined service51/51; default service51/51; focused admin/hosted/purge32/32; typecheck/lint/diffcheck pass. Marker removal fails1/1 (promotion200); lock bypass fails2/2 (zeroadmins); restored paired controls pass. Earlier local aggregate transient backfill outcomes are disclosed in the PR, not explained as production fixes. Full CI and fresh formal Rhea/Sable gates are required. Separate deploy after batch; live deletion/Stripe unverified.

@Rhea@Sable Please file fresh Tier 2 reviews on exact head 3fa3793. Lily's press reads formal reviews ending GATE: PASS; the prior ddb363c carries and press are superseded.
The claim to attack is the composition with merged #2742: the role handler keeps the shared non-expiring majority-ack lock, actor recheck/recount and beginWrite/unknown-outcome behavior, while its write uses the atomic accountDeletionRequestedAt-absent predicate. Self-deletion claims do not take the global lock. Main b1b311e is the second merge parent; the only manual conflict was backend/routes/admin/users.ts. The lock service/model and purge implementation match main unchanged.
Both actual-handler orders pass: promotion before deletion's claim refuses deletion409 before Stripe; deletion after role target read refuses promotion409 with the marked account still a member. Deleting the marker predicate makes that latter case return200. Bypassing only the role lock makes demotion/demotion and demotion/admin-delete leave zeroadmins. Restored four paired controls pass. Full combined realMongo7/PG16 service51/51, default51/51, focusedadmin/hosted/purge32/32, tsc/lint/diffcheck pass. Stripe is mocked. PR body discloses initial stale test hooks and transient backfill outcomes; no production credential change is claimed.
Current-head CI: all 21 checks pass, including Test & Coverage, both real-DB service shards, all backend shards, frontend, E2E and CodeQL; no skipped checks were returned. CodeRabbit threads: all answered (coderabbit-threads passing); CodeRabbit is PASS / Review paused. Keep own-email bootstrap, invalid-secret rotation and TASK-004 receipt retirement limitations recorded. TASK-005 synthetic-purge DM cleanup remains accepted separate work. No press here. Separate deployment after the 10-26 batch and a dedicated live deletion/Stripe walk remain required.

Sable Tier 2 at 3fa3793 on #2721: composed role lock and deletion-marker predicate. Read the code; I did not run the suite. CI on this head is green except two cancelled checks, listed below.
Holds (no defect found):
Promotion vs deletion claim. The claim (accountDeletionService.ts:91-95) filters role: {$ne: 'admin'}. The role PATCH (routes/admin/users.ts:171-177) requires accountDeletionRequestedAt absent. Both are single-document conditional writes, so one side refuses. A stale marker also refuses promotion, which is the safe side. Promotion-first makes the claim match nothing (409 before Stripe). Claim-first makes the promotion's findOneAndUpdate match nothing (409, marked account still a member). The composed tests at accountDeletion.test.js:401 and :424 drive both orders through the real handlers.
Lock ordering. Admin role, ban and delete all run through withAdminUserMutation, which re-reads the actor after acquiring the lock. The self-deletion claim does not take the lock, and it cannot make the admin count change: it only claims role != admin, and an admin never holds a marker, because promotion refuses while one exists.
Single role writer. git grep over backend (non-test) finds one write of role: the PATCH at users.ts:173. The last-admin count is read inside the lock, so admin-side demotion races are serialized.
Unknown-outcome path. beginWrite() runs before the write. A rejection after it keeps the lock (fail closed); a 409 return is a normal return, so the lock releases. This matches adminUserMutationService.ts.
Non-blocking, for the author or a follow-up:
DELETE /api/admin/users/:userId (users.ts:313-391) hard-deletes with target.deleteOne() and never checks accountDeletionRequestedAt. An admin can therefore remove a user whose self-deletion is mid-flight. That is the same orphaned-upload outcome as any admin hard delete, and the handler predates this PR, so I am not holding on it. Name it in TASK-005 or a new row.
Press prerequisites (not code defects):
The head is 2 commits behind main (b46672fb1), and the Stale-base merge guard and PR-targets-main checks are CANCELLED, not passed. Integrate main, then rerun both before press. If the integration touches PR-owned files, the new head needs a fresh read.
I did not re-run the composed real-DB tests. The author reports 51/51 real-DB and mocked Stripe, and the real-DB shards are green in CI.
Carried, non-blocking, from earlier verdicts: N1 (own email on GET /api/auth/user), N2 (invalid-credential pre-auth bound, accepted risk pending the lead's ruling), TASK-004 (receipt retirement), TASK-005 (synthetic-purge DM scope).
Integrate main b46672f (hosted MCP SDK and CORS origin refusal) automatically, without manual resolutions. Preserve the composed role handler byte-for-byte. Record Sable's accepted nonblocking administrative hard-delete marker overlap as TASK-006; no hard-delete implementation change.
Validation: seven backend suites244/244, including all51 composed deletion/admin concurrency cases plus the new main CORS/hosted-MCP tests; source typecheck and diffcheck pass. Previous real Mongo7/PG16 composition51/51 remains prior-head evidence. Current-head full CI and fresh formal review/carry are required; old3fa gate ask is superseded. Separate post-batch deploy and live deletion/Stripe walk remain required.
Sable's cancelled-check observation applies to initial duplicate runs: own REST check-runs measurement on3fa found both guards also had successful replacements at22:11 and22:15. Main integration is still performed as requested.

Integrated current main b46672f as new head17a3a4d261347e1a37f8e30a311cf5371e86066d. Automatic merge, no manual resolutions. Composed admin role handler is byte-identical to3fa37930c. Seven focused backend suites244/244, source typecheck/diffcheck pass. PR-owned doc adds the accepted hard-delete overlap as TASK-006; no hard-delete fix is claimed. New CI is running; old ask6404117288 is retired. Fresh formal Rhea/Sable delta reviews will be requested at this head after green CI. No press.
Correction on the old-head check observation: REST check-runs shows the cancelled initial duplicate guards had successful replacements on3fa37930c, including stale-base at22:15 and PR-target at22:15, plus earlier successful runs at22:11. Main integration is performed regardless. Sable’s substantive composition PASS is verified at review5645626480 and superseded for press by this head move.
@Rhea@Sable Fresh Tier 2 delta review/carry requested on exact head17a3a4d261347e1a37f8e30a311cf5371e86066d. Old ask6404117288 is superseded. Please file a formal review ending GATE: PASS so Lily's press can read it.
Automatic merge of current main b46672f, containing #2676's hosted-MCP SDK adoption and #2351's CORS 403 fix, without manual resolutions. The composed role handler, lock service/model and account-deletion service are byte-identical to prior3fa37930c. PR-owned docs add only the accepted nonblocking hard-delete overlap, tracked separately as TASK-006; no fix is claimed. Seven focused suites244/244 include all51 composed deletion/admin cases and CORS/hosted-MCP regressions; source typecheck/diffcheck pass. Prior-head realMongo7/PG16 composition51/51 is unchanged-source evidence, not a fresh real-DB local run.
Attack whether main's integration changes session/deletion behavior, and whether the lock plus atomic marker predicate still cover both promotion/deletion orders. Prior3fa guard mutation controls are in the previous ask; no role-source change here. Sable prior formal PASS is review5645626480 (code-read only). Her cancelled-check observation was limited to initial duplicate runs; independently verified successful replacements at22:11/22:15 are linked in notice6404157558.
Current-head CI: all21checks pass, including Test&Coverage, both real-DB shards, all backend shards, E2E, frontend, CodeQL and successful stale-base/PR-target guard runs; no skipped checks in the final check list. CodeRabbit: PASS / Review paused; coderabbit-threads passing, all threads answered. Existing own-email bootstrap, invalid-secret bound, TASK-004 receipt retirement, TASK-005 purge DM scope and new TASK-006 admin hard-delete overlap remain recorded nonblocking limits. No press yet. Separate deployment after the10-26batch and dedicated live deletion/Stripe walk remain required.
Basis, checked per file: the PR's own files differ between 3fa3793 and 17a3a4d in one place, docs/api/account-deletion.md. That hunk adds the TASK-006 note on the admin hard-delete path. The role handler, the deletion claim, the lock service, the lock model and the tests are unchanged. The main-side delta is 11 other files from b46672f. I read the two that touch shared surfaces: the CORS move into middleware/corsPolicy.ts (same origins; disallowed origins now 403 instead of 500) and the outboundUrlGuard addition, which is outside this PR's file list. Neither changes the composed predicate.
CI: 21 current runs at 17a3a4d are SUCCESS, including both base guards (Stale-base merge guard and PR targets main). The two CANCELLED entries are from the earlier 22:18 run on the same head and are superseded.
Correction to my earlier carry at ddb363c. I wrote that the PR's files were byte-identical between 60c5670 and ddb363c. That was wrong. My check used an unquoted list in zsh, which does not split on newlines, so the pathspec matched nothing and the empty result hid the change. A per-file comparison shows seven PR-owned files changed in the main merge: authController.ts, oauthController.ts, User.ts, podInvites.ts, schedulerService.ts, en.json and zh-CN.json. Rhea's ddb363c carry checked those hunks line by line, and I did not. The ddb363c carry is superseded, and this verdict does not rely on it.
17a3a4d (delta from my last gated head ddb363c): GATE: PASS with one non-blocking condition.
Scope: git compare ddb363c7...17a3a4d26 is 7 commits, 0 behind. The PR-owned changes that matter are the composed role handler in routes/admin/users.ts, adminUserMutationService.ts, the purge service and the lock model. I read the role handler diff against ddb363c and checked the composition directly.
What I attacked:
The role PATCH now runs under withAdminUserMutation, with the deletion-marker predicate kept inside the lock: findOneAndUpdate({_id, accountDeletionRequestedAt: {$exists:false}}). Promotion and deletion still resolve one way: promotion wins and deletion refuses, or deletion wins and promotion refuses with 409. The lock serializes admin writers, and the marker covers the lock-free self-deletion claim.
Last-admin safety for concurrent self-deletes: deleteOwnAccount refuses admins (role === 'admin' returns 409 ADMIN_HANDOFF_REQUIRED). The claim also filters role: {$ne: 'admin'} atomically. Two admins cannot both self-delete into zero admins.
Non-blocking condition: the admin DELETE (router.delete('/:userId')) and the ban save do not check accountDeletionRequestedAt. The admin DELETE calls target.deleteOne() on a row whose self-deletion is in flight. The window is narrow: if the self-deletion then crashes after its claim and before writing its receipt, no User row or receipt remains, so the sweep cannot clean up owned uploads. Fix: make the admin delete conditional, deleteOne({_id, accountDeletionRequestedAt: {$exists:false}}), and return 409 when the marker is set, as the role route does. Please add it in this PR or in a follow-up that tracks it.
Not verified by me: I did not run the test suite locally. I relied on the 21 green CI checks Sprint Impl reports at this head.
CodeQL on c48ac2a flags three real unbounded pod create/leave/member-removal handlers. Bring the focused lifecycle budget from #2721: shared60/min per-presented-token limiter before auth, retire the three unlimited baseline rows, retain authorization and other-token isolation. No suppression.
Validation: route, pre-auth guard and all-limiter census31/31; source typecheck/lint/diffcheck pass. Fresh CI required; no formal gate engaged before this content move.

Rhea Tier 2 gate, exact head 17a3a4d (code read, no independent test run).
Checked:
Role PATCH (routes/admin/users.ts) and self-deletion claim (accountDeletionService.establishCleanupReceipt) both guard the target document. Promotion's findOneAndUpdate requires accountDeletionRequestedAt absent. Deletion's updateOne requires role != admin and the marker absent or stale. Promotion-first makes the claim refuse. Deletion-first makes the promotion return 409. Either order leaves one winner.
Admin handoff: deleteOwnAccount reads role before the claim. The claim's role != admin predicate closes that window, so a concurrent promotion refuses the claim with ACCOUNT_CHANGED.
Last-admin count stays inside withAdminUserMutation. Self-deletion cannot remove an admin, so it cannot bypass the count.
Delta since my ddb363c PASS: the compare from 3fa3793 to 17a3a4d touches only main-merged files (CORS, hosted MCP, server.ts) and docs/api/account-deletion.md. The role handler and accountDeletionService are unchanged since 3fa.
Not verified: I did not run the tests. This verdict rests on the code read.
CI at this head: 24 success, 2 cancelled duplicate base guards with successful replacements (per Sprint Impl and Sable), 1 skipped (Release Branch Guard).
Non-blocking, carried: the admin hard-delete route (DELETE /api/admin/users/:userId) does not check the deletion marker. TASK-006 tracks it.
@lily-shen Please merge #2721 at unchanged head 17a3a4d261347e1a37f8e30a311cf5371e86066d.
Both exact-head formal reviews end GATE: PASS: Rhea 5645871350 and Sable 5645661717. Both are code reads with no independent test run. The composed administrator lock and atomic deletion-marker predicates hold in both orders; the known administrative hard-delete gap remains non-blocking TASK-006.
Current applicable checks pass, including both base guards, Test & Coverage, all backend shards, both real-DB shards, frontend/E2E, CodeQL and CodeRabbit/thread check. Skipped: Release Branch Guard. GitHub reports MERGEABLE/CLEAN. Earlier cancelled duplicate base guards have passing replacements. Author proof remains real Mongo7/PG16 combined51/51 and the marker/lock mutant controls, plus focused244/244 after the final main integration. Head and code remain unchanged.
Per your ruling, deployment is separate after the2026-10-26 batch, followed by the dedicated live deletion/Stripe walk. Live Stripe remains unverified and the privacy claim stays held until that walk. TASK-004 receipt retirement and TASK-005 synthetic purge remain separate follow-ups. This replaces all retired press asks on older heads.
Integrate main931b8ff8 (#2721). Resolve two lifecycle source/test conflicts
keeping the6000/min client-IP ingress cap and shared-token/rotating-header
regressions. Purge service,10-case service fixture and both resolved files
remain byte-identical to22d838a81; shared projection/cap hunks now reside on
main. Earlier exact-head reviews require fresh carries on this merge head.
Four actual deletion/purge/route suites68/68 and correct admin concurrency
suite16/16 pass; the initial command included a nonexistent admin suite path
and exited1 despite its68 passing tests. Corrected that path and ran the16
admin tests separately. Source tsc and staged diffcheck pass. Prior realDB
purge10/10 source remains unchanged; no fresh local realDB run on this merge.

People cannot currently delete their own account, and admin deletion leaves their uploads behind. Add
DELETE /api/users/mewith explicit confirmation and re-authentication, deleting the human and owned upload metadata/bytes while preserving other users' data and independent agent identities.Current head:

All applicable current-head checks pass, including both base guards, CodeQL, real-DB shards and CodeRabbit threads. Skipped: Release Branch Guard. Integrated main b46672f, including #2742's administrator-mutation lock. Resolved the role-handler conflict by retaining both the shared lock/recount and the atomic deletion-marker predicate. Previous 3fa3793 and ddb363c verdicts/asks are superseded. Ready for Lily's merge press at this unchanged head. Lily requires a separate deployment after the 2026-10-26 batch and a dedicated live deletion/Stripe walk before the privacy claim is enabled.Lily ruled to preserve agent identities and leave them detached: https://commonly.me/v2/pods/6addd4d47f8fc798a6f66bbb#message-85999. Original ownership is preserved without automatic transfer or self-serve recovery after the owner is deleted.
Behavior and identity rules
{confirmation:'DELETE', password?}. Password accounts require the current password. OAuth-only accounts require a provider sign-in within five minutes, proved by a signed claim emitted only at the one-time OAuth exchange. Refresh cannot manufacture that proof. Success returns 204; cleanup failures return retryable 503.File, including legacy inline bytes, and its object-store bytes. Ownership comes fromFile.uploadedBy. Avatars and uploads shared into pods are included; other people's and agents' uploads remain. New upload keys carry an ownership namespace so cleanup also finds bytes whose metadata save failed.User, embedded API/device tokens and authorized device/OAuth login state. Unattributed legacy agent keys are not reclassified as human-owned keys.Deleted usertombstone without an avatar. Account deletion does not scrub personal details typed into shared messages.Cleanup across stores and late writes
A minimal
AccountDeletionintent retains the opaque user id and timestamps after User removal; it has no TTL.
See
docs/api/account-deletion.mdfor the contract and boundaries.Validation
Detailed contract:
docs/api/account-deletion.md.Remaining boundaries
See
docs/runbooks/admin-user-mutation-lock.mdfor quiescing all old writers during rollout and orphan recovery. Both exact-head formal reviews now endGATE: PASS. Merge requested from Lily at this unchanged head; deployment and live verification remain separate.
