Fixes the FALSE clauses in frontend/src/content/landing-faq.json that Wren's audit (docs/audits/landing-faq-firstrun-claims.md, PR #2884) marks FALSE, per Lily's scope (pod msg 95321). The launch copy carries walked claims only.

Only landing-faq.json changes. README is in #2885, and the FAQ has no zh-CN copy.

Change table

FAQ Before (clause) After Audit row (#2884) Evidence
1 "Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode join from your own machine" "Claude Code joins from your own machine, Codex from your own Mac" FAQ 1 sentence 2 Connect page offers claude and codex only; README:80 says Codex is macOS, Linux untested
2 "asks a person before acting" "asks a person for a decision" FAQ 2 sentence 2 The only pre-action gate on main is the connector-write approval card
3 "answers @mentions in the pod, in a thread" "answers @mentions in the pod" FAQ 3 sentence 2 A reply is one top-level post (cli/src/lib/enforcement.js:776-780)
5 "Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode from teammates' machines" "Claude Code from teammates' machines, Codex from teammates' Macs" FAQ 5 sentence 1 OpenCode is not on the connect page; Codex has no Windows path
5 "what each agent claimed and finished" "what each agent has updated on the board" FAQ 5 sentence 2 Activity lists a board item only when it has a lastUpdate (V2ActivityPage.tsx)
6 (question) "Anthropic recommends one agent loop over subagents." "Should one agent run as one loop instead of subagents?" FAQ 6 premise No source on main states it
6 "and Commonly doesn't split an agent into subagents" removed FAQ 6 sentence 1 Claude Code adapter cues subagents (cli/src/lib/adapters/claude.js:113-116); gateway caps them at 4 (agentProvisionerService.ts:929-932)
6 "sharing one thread" "sharing the same conversations" FAQ 6 sentence 3 Already in this PR's first commit; row 42 marked fixed
6 "a connector grant gives one agent read access to one tool" "a connector grant lets an agent use the tools you pick, through your account" FAQ 6 sentence 4 RoomGrant.ts:12, 29-30 (writeMode, tools[]); the broker runs on the grant's connection (toolBrokerService.ts, credentialOwnerId)

No-loss table

FAQ Claim the reader keeps Why it survives
1 Claude Code and Codex join from your machine; hosted agent is an option; same chat and task board The true parts are untouched; only the false platform/tool clauses changed
2 A pod has a chat, a claimable task board, and decision cards Unchanged; only "before acting" narrowed to "for a decision"
3 Your Claude Code answers @mentions in the pod Thread wording removed, the claim is intact
5 Shared chat and task board; Activity shows what needs a person Unchanged; agent set narrowed to what the connect page supports
6 One strong loop per expert; teams divide by expertise and owner; shared board; named members; tasks show as taken; connector grant without handing over keys The owner and claim clauses are untouched; the grant clause keeps "without handing over your keys"

Not in this PR: FAQ 4 names OpenCode as a pod member. It is not in the audit's FALSE list, so I did not change it. Flagging for Wren's next pass.

landingFaq.test.tsx compares the rendered FAQ to the JSON verbatim, so it stays green. JSON validated locally.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

A pod is one room with many threads, so "share one thread" and "in one
thread" were false. Swap for "the same conversations" and "in one pod".

- README.md:12 "share one thread and one task board" -> "share the same
  conversations and one task board"
- README.md:42 image alt "in one thread" -> "in one pod"
- landing FAQ 6 (frontend/src/content/landing-faq.json) "sharing one thread
and one board" -> "sharing the same conversations and one board"

No zh-CN change: the FAQ answer is not in en.json or zh-CN.json; it lives
only in landing-faq.json, which has no zh copy.

@lilyshen0722 lilyshen0722 changed the title docs: "one thread" is false; a pod holds many threads (copy fix) docs: landing FAQ 6 "one thread" is false; a pod holds many threads Oct 27, 2026
Each change removes a clause that Wren's audit (#2884) marks FALSE. The
claim the reader gets stays, except where the code does not support it.

- FAQ 1: OpenCode is not offered on the connect page; Codex has no
Windows path. Codex now joins "from your own Mac" (README: macOS).
- FAQ 2: the only pre-action gate on main is the connector-write approval
card, so "asks a person before acting" becomes "asks a person for a
  decision".
- FAQ 3: a reply is one top-level post, so "in a thread" is dropped.
- FAQ 5: OpenCode from teammates' machines and Codex from Windows are
dropped; "what each agent claimed" becomes "has updated on the board"
(Activity lists an item only when it carries a lastUpdate).
- FAQ 6 question: "Anthropic recommends one agent loop" has no source on
main, so the question no longer attributes it.
- FAQ 6 answer: "doesn't split an agent into subagents" is dropped; the
Claude Code adapter cues subagents and the gateway caps them at 4.
- FAQ 6 connector grant: "read access to one tool" becomes "use the tools
you pick, through your account", per RoomGrant.ts (tools[], writeMode)
and the broker running on the grantor's connection (credentialOwnerId).

Align README thread wording with the current pod model.

README.md still describes the same pod as one thread and tells users to mention or answer agents “in the thread.” This conflicts with the FAQ’s “same conversations” and pod-based wording. Update the affected README text, including the additional stale sentence at line 64.

Suggested fix
-Commonly AI is an open-source (Apache-2.0) workspace where people and their agents share one thread and one task board. Each agent is a named member with an owner, so everyone can see who has what.

Add fixed expected values for the changed FAQ answers.

LANDING_FAQ is imported from frontend/src/content/landing-faq.json. The current assertions derive expected answers from that same value. Reverting any changed answer therefore leaves the test passing. Add fixed expected answers or mutation checks for each changed entry.

D138 Opus docs gate, #2886 at 4e4542d (landing-faq.json, FAQ 1/2/3/5/6). CI is green: the CANCELLED "Stale-base merge guard" entry was superseded by a SUCCESS run at 16:26Z.

(1) Each changed clause is TRUE at this head:

  • FAQ 1 and 5. "Claude Code joins from your own machine, Codex from your own Mac": the connect page offers only claude and codex (V2AgentBYO.tsx:73), and README.md:80 says Codex is macOS with Linux untested. OpenCode is gone from both answers.
  • FAQ 2. "asks a person for a decision" no longer implies a gate before every action.
  • FAQ 3. "answers @mentions in the pod": a wrapper reply is one top-level post (cli/src/lib/enforcement.js:776-780). The thread clause is gone.
  • FAQ 5. "what each agent has updated on the board" matches V2ActivityPage.tsx:796-803, which lists a board item only when it has a lastUpdate and attributes it to that update's author.
  • FAQ 6.
    • The "doesn't split an agent into subagents" clause is removed.
    • "sharing the same conversations" replaces "one thread".
    • "a connector grant lets an agent use the tools you pick, through your account": tools[] and writeMode come from RoomGrant.ts:29-30. Only the connection's owner can mint a grant (grants.ts:320, connectionOwnerId(connection) !== userId → 403). The audience defaults to current pod members and is limited to them (grants.ts:371-389). "Without handing over your keys" still holds (toolBrokerService returns no credential).

(2) No-loss: six questions and six answers before, six and six after. No link existed and none was dropped. FAQ 4 is unchanged.

(3) macOS condition: the only reply claim (FAQ 3) follows "run the lines it shows on your Mac", and the Linux/Windows sentence keeps the MCP-only path. That matches README.md:79.

HOLD, for one item: CodeRabbit's finding in review 5670768003 ("Align README thread wording", landing-faq.json:4) has no reply on the PR. There are no issue comments besides CodeRabbit's summary, and no review-comment replies. The finding is substantively covered by #2885 (my PASS at 4c6aaa7, review 5670865496), so a single not fixing: README thread wording is fixed in #2885 reply clears it. That doesn't move the head, and I'll re-stamp at this same SHA.

Non-blocking, for whoever owns the GEO check: this PR rewords the FAQ 6 question. landingFaq.ts:4-6 says the questions are fixed because weekly checks compare them across weeks. Removing a false premise justifies the change, but the GEO tracker needs a re-baseline for that question, and the comment at landingFaq.ts:4-6 should note the exception in a follow-up.

Re: the review-body finding "Align README thread wording" (review 5670768003, landing-faq.json:4). This PR doesn't change it, because #2885 fixes the README thread wording. That PR is approved at 4c6aaa7 and has entered the merge queue. This file's FAQ answers no longer claim "one thread": FAQ 6 now says "sharing the same conversations", and FAQ 3's reply claim is "answers @mentions in the pod" (a wrapper reply is one top-level post, cli/src/lib/enforcement.js:776-780).

Opus docs re-stamp (D138), #2886 at 4e4542d. This is the same head as my HOLD 5670888171, and it replaces that HOLD.

The only blocker is cleared. The CodeRabbit finding in review 5670768003 now has a PR-comment reply (16:42Z) that points the README thread wording to #2885, which I passed at 4c6aaa7.

The content verdict is unchanged from 5670888171. Every changed clause in FAQ 1/2/3/5/6 is TRUE against the code it cites, the no-loss check holds (6 questions and 6 answers, FAQ 4 untouched), and the one reply claim keeps the Mac condition.

Carried forward, non-blocking: the FAQ 6 question is reworded against landingFaq.ts:4-6 ("do not reword them"). The GEO weekly check needs a re-baseline, and the code comment needs an exception note in a follow-up.

Row numbers move when rows are added above them, so the premise row is
named by its label, Landing FAQ 6 (premise, in the question), at the three
places that cited it.

Item 6 said the copy PR drops "we agree". #2886 keeps it
(landing-faq.json:24) and drops the subagent clause in item 7. It also
said the question was fixed text, which #2886 did not keep.
