What changes

One sentence opens Confined mode (macOS): confined mode does not complete turns yet on CLI 0.1.191, so run the private seat unconfined until a fix ships. The walked line (CLI 0.1.117, re-walked on 0.1.122) stays as written, since the unconfined walk is true.

Lumen's HOLD on 6128c7e named one more sentence. "Check one turn before relying on it." sat under the provider-route limit and implied that a confined turn can complete. It is dropped. The bullet keeps its other text.

Why

  • The D146 prod walk ran dsh unconfined (launch-1028 §D146, row dsh: "plain/unconfined").
  • SRE then ran dsh confined on CLI 0.1.191 with the shape this page documents, {mode: workspace, network: restricted}. The seat boots, and every turn times out because the loopback provider proxy does not deliver inference. Finding: SRE's run (D106). I have not re-run it.

The section's current wording reads as working, so an operator who copies the documented shape gets a seat whose every turn times out.

Scope

Tier 0, docs only. One file: three added lines in the section, and one sentence dropped from the limits list. Head b0dd055. The commit before it (46c33b3) merged two bullets by mistake, and b0dd055 restores the line break.

Gate: Lumen (D138), routed by Lily.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

The D146 prod walk ran dsh unconfined. SRE then ran a confined seat on
CLI 0.1.191 with the shape this page documents, {mode: workspace,
network: restricted}. It boots, and every turn times out because the
loopback provider proxy does not deliver inference. The section now
opens with that and says to run the private seat unconfined until a fix
ships. The walked line is unchanged.

Finding: SRE's confined run on CLI 0.1.191 (D106).

Walkthrough

The confined-mode instructions now state that runs do not complete turns on CLI 0.1.191 and direct users to run the private seat unconfined until a fix ships. The instructions also remove the prior advice to check one turn before relying on a provider route that reports a different model name.

Track the temporary workaround to a concrete removal condition.

“Until a fix ships” does not identify an issue or a condition for removing this notice. Link the tracking issue and state the release or behavior that removes the workaround. Otherwise, the documentation can keep directing users to unconfined mode after the fix.

As per coding guidelines: temporary workarounds require a linked issue and a concrete removal condition.

Clarify that the confined warning is version-specific.

The guide installs and walks CLI 0.1.122, but the warning reports a CLI 0.1.191 failure. The warning already names 0.1.191, so either update the guide to install and validate that version or state explicitly that the warning applies only to 0.1.191 and that the 0.1.122 walk is separate. The confined test does not validate CLI 0.1.191.

D138 gate at 6128c7e. The diff is three added lines in docs/cli/dsh.md and nothing else.

  1. The new sentence (lines 88–89) reads: "Confined mode does not complete turns yet on CLI 0.1.191, so run the private seat unconfined until a fix ships." It makes two claims: confined mode does not complete turns on 0.1.191, and the reader should run unconfined. It does not explain why and makes no other claim. "Until a fix ships" carries the same weight as "yet" and names no date. It sits first in the section, so it governs everything below it. Correct.
  2. The walked line (83–84), "walked … on macOS using CLI 0.1.117, then re-walked on CLI 0.1.122 on 2026-10-23", is untouched. The diff makes no deletions.
  3. No other line implies confined works. I read all six "confined" mentions and the whole section. Lines 55–57 (refusal of other shapes), 91–100 (the declared shape, refusals, no fallback), the "What changes" and "Limits" bullets, and the probe script describe the mechanism and its denials, not a working turn. One line fails:
    • Line 141: "A provider route that reports a different model name … fails every confined turn. Check one turn before relying on it." The second sentence tells the reader to run a confined turn and then rely on it, which implies confined turns complete when the model names match. That contradicts line 88. Drop "Check one turn before relying on it.", or reword it to make no claim about a passing turn.

One defect, a one-sentence fix.

D138 re-stamp at b0dd055. The diff against main is +4/-1 in docs/cli/dsh.md. It adds the confined-mode sentence at lines 88–89, unchanged since my last review, and turns "fails every confined turn. Check one turn before relying on it." into "fails every confined turn." Nothing else changed.

My HOLD defect is resolved. The remaining bullet now only says when confined turns fail. It no longer tells the reader to run a confined turn and rely on it. I re-read the whole Confined mode section at this head: the declared shape, the refusals, "never falls back", "What changes", "Limits to know" and the probe script. Each describes the mechanism or its denials, and nothing implies a confined turn completes. The bullet list still formats correctly. The walked line (83–84) is untouched.

Add a removal condition for the unconfined workaround.

The guidance tells users to bypass Seatbelt confinement “until a fix ships”. Add a tracking issue link and name the exact CLI version or fix condition that restores confined mode. Without that condition, the documentation can remain stale and keep users on the weaker security boundary after the fix.

As per coding guidelines, phrases such as “until X” require a linked issue and concrete removal condition.

Minor · Attribute the CLI 0.1.191 failure to its single SRE run. · dsh.md:88-89

docs/cli/dsh.md:88-89
🔒 Security & Privacy | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Attribute the CLI 0.1.191 failure to its single SRE run.

The docs state this failure as fact. The only support is one SRE run that booted and then timed out on every turn. That run has not been repeated, and the repository does not name CLI 0.1.191 anywhere else. Readers may disable confinement based on an unconfirmed, version-specific result. Add a link to the tracking issue.

Suggested wording
