feat(v2): sidebar matches the d215 artboard frame (TASK-735) - #3139
TASK-735 (D223). #3072 shipped the D215 sidebar controls but was never checked against the artboard frame. This PR diffs the sidebar against the s-sidebar frame in docs/design/artboards/d215 at 1440 and 390, in light and dark, and fixes the gaps it found. In scope: the pods list, nav rail, pod panel and the phone pods page.
Frame diff
There are four side-by-side sheets, each showing artboard, then before (staging on main fd2c0bb4), then after (this branch over dev:live against staging, signed in as the seeded non-admin seat on the D215 sample pod). They're uploaded to the Sharpen pod's Files as task-735-sidebar-frame-diff-{1440-light,1440-dark,390-light,390-dark}.png.
What changed, matched to the artboard:
Pods pane. It's now a 14px card with a shadow ring instead of a border, and the rows are inset by 10px. Search has its glyph and the 34px tinted field. The + is the 32px raised key with a plus glyph.
Rows. Rows are 36px with 8px corners, a 24px mark, a 13.5px name and an 18px ink pill. The selected row is the neutral tint with a cobalt mark in both themes. The full-row cobalt block (light) and the accent bar (dark) are gone.
Rail. The logo is a 36px cobalt key. Glyphs at rest are bare 38px with no box behind them, and the active item is filled. The needs-you badge is filled cobalt with a ring, and the account avatar is 36px.
Panel. Group cards are 14px with the pane shadow and no border, with 13.5px titles, 24px avatars and 10px between cards.
Phone pods page. It now has a 52px title bar with the display title. Search sits behind an icon next to the new-pod key, and the Recent / All / Pinned segment is full size. The tab bar is 58px with placeholder-grey glyphs at rest.
The new radius, shadow, fill and key values use TASK-730's token names (--v2-r-*, --v2-shadow-pane, --v2-fill-*, --v2-key-*), with fallbacks so they render correctly before those tokens land.
Left as is, for UX Lead to rule on
The artboard draws mono text at 9.5–10.5px (marks, pill, ⌘K hint, badges). This PR keeps the 11px mono floor (ruling h, guarded by v2-type-floors.test.ts).
Phone rows keep a 44px touch target. The artboard draws them at 36px.
Rail glyph colour stays on the TASK-701 token, so dark keeps its lift.
In light mode the selected row's tint alone is below 3:1 against the pane. Selection is carried by the cobalt mark and the weight change, as the artboard draws it.
Not in this PR
Pod header (display-font title, member avatar stack, rename pencil, panel toggle). The chat frame owns these.
Panel's Pod / Thread segment. This is a new mode, not a restyle.
Rail sign-out. The artboard doesn't show it, but it stays because it's the only sign-out entry point.
Checks
One review round (D218): a Sonnet subagent read the diff and the four sheets and found nothing blocking. I fixed two of its points: ⌘K now opens the folded phone search, and closing search returns focus to its toggle. Both are covered by new tests.
Frontend Jest: 200 suites, 2,096 tests passing in a node:22 container. The layout-invariant tests now pin the artboard values.
D223. #3072 shipped the D215 sidebar controls without a frame diff. This
diffs staging against the artboard's s-sidebar frame at 1440 and 390, in
light and dark, and closes the gaps in the pods list, rail, panel and the
phone pods page.
- Pods pane: the artboard's 14px card ringed by the pane shadow, rows
inset 10px. Search gets its glyph and the 34px tinted field; + is the
32px raised key with a plus glyph.
- Rows: 36px, 8px corners, 24px mark, 13.5px name, 18px ink pill. The
selected row is the neutral tint with a cobalt mark in both themes; the
full-row cobalt block and the accent bar are gone.
- Rail: 36px cobalt logo, bare 38px glyphs at rest, a filled active key,
the filled cobalt needs-you badge, a 36px account avatar.
- Panel: group cards are 14px with the pane shadow, 13.5px titles, 24px
avatars, 10px between cards.
- Phone pods page: a 52px title bar with the display title, search behind
an icon beside the new-pod key, and the full-size segment. Tab bar 58px
with placeholder glyphs at rest.
New radius, shadow, fill and key values read TASK-730's token names with
fallbacks, so they pick up wisp's tokens when those land.

…close (TASK-735)
From the review round: the folded phone search left the field unrendered,
so ⌘K focused nothing, and closing it dropped focus to the body.

Keep enabled phone-tab labels readable.

Keep enabled phone-tab labels readable.
The 11px labels are normal text in enabled <button> elements. Their effective contrast is about 2.6:1 in light mode and 3.2:1 in dark mode, below WCAG’s 4.5:1 minimum. The active selector changes only the selected tab to --v2-text-primary.
This is a localized accessibility issue. The buttons remain usable through their existing icons and click targets, so the impact is minor rather than major. Use the higher-contrast secondary text token:

Update the enabled phone-tab label color in the relevant button styles from the
placeholder text token to the higher-contrast secondary text token; preserve the
active-tab styling.

CodeRabbit on #3139: the placeholder grey put the 11px labels under 4.5:1.
The glyphs keep the artboard grey; the labels stay muted.

@coderabbitai Agreed, thanks. This change had moved the inactive labels from muted to placeholder grey, so it was a regression. Fixed in the latest commit: the glyphs keep the artboard's placeholder grey, and the inactive labels use --v2-text-muted (about 4.8:1 light, 6:1 dark). A presence test pins the rule.
For best results, initiate chat on the files or code changes.
@lilyshen0722 Thanks for fixing the regression and adding the presence test. Using --v2-text-muted for inactive labels preserves readability while the glyphs retain the artboard’s placeholder grey.

Pin the inactive glyph color in this test.
The test name covers both inactive labels and glyphs, but Line 460 checks only the label selector. If the color: var(--v2-text-placeholder) declaration for .v2-mobile-tabs__item is reverted, this test still passes. Add an assertion for the inactive item or glyph color.
As per path instructions, a changed test must fail when the behavior under test is reverted; this assertion does not cover the inactive-icon mutation.

@coderabbitai Fair point. The test is named for both and only pins the label. I'll add the inactive-glyph assertion (color: var(--v2-text-placeholder) on the inactive tab item) in the follow-up that carries UX Lead's rulings on this surface, rather than moving this head for a test-only line.
Frame diff: the sidebar against the d215 s-sidebar frame at 1440 and 390, light and dark, as artboard / before / after sheets in the Sharpen pod's Files (task-735-sidebar-frame-diff-*.png). After matches the frame for the pods list, rail, panel and phone pods page. The deviations for UX Lead to rule on are listed in the PR body.
Writer's Sonnet subagent review: nothing blocking. Two keyboard fixes went in with tests (⌘K opens the folded phone search, and closing it returns focus to its toggle).
CodeRabbit: the phone-tab label contrast regression is fixed at this head. The remaining test-only nit is answered as a follow-up.
CI green at this head: Test & Coverage passing, nothing failed. Locally, frontend Jest passes 200 suites / 2,096 tests (v2: 1,939 at this head).

@lilyshen0722 Understood. You plan to add the inactive-glyph assertion with the UX Lead follow-up, so it remains unresolved in this PR. The supplied repository review rubric requires tests in the same change; the follow-up plan does not satisfy that requirement.
Would you like me to open a GitHub issue to track the deferred assertion?

…deways (TASK-735)
#3139 widened the nav glyph to the artboard's 38px inside a 56px rail with
10px side padding, a 35px content box. The staging smoke failed on it
(rail no h-scroll @1440px, over+2). 8px padding gives 39px; measured 0 on
staging with the rule injected. The test now derives the fit from the rail
width, padding and glyph width.
