chore: Structured diff chunks: parse a unified diff into typed per-file hunks with both-side line numbers - #942
Conversation
…de line numbers review::changed_lines collapsed a diff to the new-side line numbers it touches — enough to verify a finding against a diff, not enough to show one, anchor a comment on it, or render it side by side. src/review/diff.rs keeps the whole shape instead: files → hunks → typed lines, with the old and the new line number of every line kept side by side. A deleted line has an old number and no new one, an added line the reverse, and a deletion paired with the addition that replaced it becomes one Changed line carrying both texts — which is what makes a side-by-side view possible. review::changed_lines now reads through the parser, so the line set and the structured view of the same diff cannot drift. Its output is unchanged for every existing fixture. The parser is also more careful than the scanner it replaces: a line inside a hunk whose text starts with "-- " or "++ " looks exactly like a file header and is no longer mistaken for one, and a malformed hunk header loses its numbers rather than the lines that follow it. Ported from baz-cli's parsePatch (.refs/baz-cli/src/lib/clients/github.ts:819). Agentflare-Agent: opencode Agentflare-Branch: task/386-structured-diff-chunks-parse-a-unified-d Agentflare-Item: 386

whether the header parsed instead of treating a missing header as numbered

A hunk whose `@@` header does not parse used to number its lines from zero. Those numbers reached `review::changed_lines`, so a finding citing line 1 of such a hunk was marked verified — against a line the file does not have. The structured view kept the lines, which is right; the numbers they were given were not. Lines of a hunk with no readable header now carry no line number at all, and so count toward nothing. Verified against the diff: a finding pointing into that hunk is unverified, as it should be. Found by CodeRabbit on PR #942. Risk areas
review::changed_linesis the one existing caller, and it is used to decide whether a review finding is verified. Its output is unchanged for every existing fixture, but it is now derived from a different parser, so it is the place to look first.src/review/diff.rsis new and self-contained; nothing else in the tree depends on it yet (item fix(item): clean up the worktree on a plain release, not just done/check_merge #388 consumes the chunk accessors).Edge cases covered by tests
