"Powered by goblog": link goblog.live, render from a shared partial, add a setting to hide it - #644
Conversation
The footer and the three wizard pages linked to the old github.com/compscidr/goblog URL. Link the official site instead, so every install's footer points at it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

What changed in this PR
This PR updates the "Powered by goblog" attribution links in the default theme to point at the official site, https://www.goblog.live, instead of the old source-repo URL https://github.com/compscidr/goblog. This helps drive inbound links to the official site, which appears on every GoBlog install's footer and install-wizard pages. The change is template-only and matches the canonical www.goblog.live domain already used throughout the repository (README, installer constants, and settings seeds).
Changes:
- Updated the footer attribution link in the default theme.
- Updated the attribution links on the three install-wizard pages (auth, db, settings).

…etting to hide it The link was written out in the default theme's footer, the wizard pages and every theme with its own footer. Move it to templates/shared as _powered_by, which themes include with one line, and add a show_powered_by checkbox setting (Appearance, on by default) that hides it. Sites upgraded before the setting is seeded, and the wizard pages, which have no settings, keep showing it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Why
The "Powered by goblog" link pointed at the old
github.com/compscidr/goblogURL, was written out separately in the default footer, the three wizard pages and every theme that ships its own footer, and could not be turned off. What
templates/shared/_powered_by.htmldefines_powered_by:<span class="powered-by">Powered by <a href="https://www.goblog.live">goblog <version></a></span>. A theme includes it with{{ template "_powered_by" . }}inside whatever element it styles the line with.show_powered_bycheckbox setting, seeded on, under Admin → Settings → Appearance. When off, the partial renders nothing.footer.htmlandwizard_auth.html/wizard_db.html/wizard_settings.htmlnow call the partial.writing-a-theme.mddocuments the partial.Testing
go test ./...passes. NewTestPoweredBycovers the partial with the setting on, off, unseeded and absent, and thatfooter.htmlhonours it. Not checked in a browser.Follow-up (not in this PR)
goblog-theme-forest,goblog-theme-minimalandgoblog-site-themeeach hardcode their own "Powered by" line linking to the GitHub repo. Until they switch to{{ template "_powered_by" . }}, the setting has no effect on sites using them. A theme that uses the partial needs a goblog release that includes it.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
