Summary Lane C of the simplification program: the SHL and shell-test levers for the Tauri shell crate (apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri). Behavior is meant to stay the same. Persisted formats, bridge DTO shapes, CLI output, settings tab ids and user-facing strings are unchanged. Nothing under apps/desktop-tauri/src or rust/ is touched, and neither is commands/provider_settings.rs or commands/session_cookie_scope_tests.rs (PR #793). What changed, by lever: - SHL-10 (7c7104d): Default for the bridge usage snapshots (no serde default, so the wire shape is unchanged), and shorter test literals. - SHL-04 (4813f5b): removed the 19 tray_bridge tests that duplicated tray_presentation_tests, and moved the other four to tray_presentation::tests and tray_menu::tests. - SHL-15 (5d48192): simplified the provider refresh engine, shared RFC 3339 parsing, and removed the inline reset_backfill_tests copy of six reset_backfill::tests tests. - SHL-05 (47c83c9): collapsed unreachable fetch-context arms and shared the browser cookie lookup. - TST-02 (0792536): the build_fetch_context tests are now one table, fetch_context_tests::fetch_context_resolves_each_case, with one shared input helper. - TST-07 (3ee11f9): test fetch results are built with ProviderFetchResult::new. No test names changed. - SHL-02 (72d5a10): deleted the positioning chain that only the PopOut layout used. PopOut was retired in #712. - SHL-03, partial (3578bc6, 00f45e2, 067b118): removed the same-mode reopen path that nothing forces, the reveal predicate that only tests used, the startup tray blur grace that is never armed, and the unused SurfaceTarget::parse. - SHL-13 (1bed3c8): added Rect helpers and safe_scale. One macro now generates the WindowGeometry impls for both WebviewWindow and Window. - TST-04 (2645a83): shell tests build monitors with one helper. - SHL-11 (c23afc5): unregistered the float bar commands and claude_accounts_list, which nothing invokes. A grep of apps/desktop-tauri/src finds no frontend callers. floatbar::window::show now takes &Settings. God-file splits. These are moves only: each file is a child module of the old one, the old file re-exports it, and every former path still resolves. | File (before, lines) | After | Moved to | |---|---:|---| | commands/tests.rs (2681) | 704 | commands/tests/{provider_detail,provider_cache,cookie_region_options}.rs, commands/fetch_context_tests.rs | | commands/providers.rs (1724) | 732 | commands/providers/{fetch_context,notify}.rs | | commands/bridge.rs (1262) | 765 | commands/bridge/settings_snapshot.rs | | usage_metric.rs (1228) | 447 | usage_metric/tests.rs | | tray_bridge.rs (1184) | 711 | duplicate tests dropped, the rest moved to tray_presentation / tray_menu tests (SHL-04) | | commands/usage_spend.rs (1138) | 420 | commands/usage_spend/build.rs | | commands/settings.rs (1064) | 647 | commands/settings/tests.rs | | commands/chart.rs (904) | 689 | commands/chart/local_usage_cache.rs | | auto_resume.rs (849) | 649 | auto_resume/session_target.rs | c43b6c6 moves the inline #[cfg(test)] mod tests { ... } blocks out to their own files. The largest file this lane owns is now commands/fetch_context_tests.rs, at 813 lines. commands/provider_settings.rs (924 lines) belongs to #793 and is untouched. ## Lines of code (shell area, loc.py) | | Raw prod | Raw test | Raw total | SLOC | |---|---:|---:|---:|---:| | Before (3226d2f) | 21005 | 13449 | 34454 | 29301 | | After | 20296 | 11767 | 32063 | 27149 | | Delta | -709 | -1682 | -2391 | -2152 | ## Test inventory codexbar-desktop-tauri had 639 tests before and has 569 after. This diff compares full test paths between inv-C-before.txt and inv-C-after.txt in W:\pstack-logs\Win-CodexBar\simplify\. Every before path falls in exactly one bucket: | Bucket | Tests | |---|---:| | Before | 639 | | Removed: TST-02 table rows (39), PopOut chain (12), SHL-03 dead code (6) | -57 | | Deleted duplicates whose twin already ran at another path (SHL-04: 19, SHL-15: 6) | -25 | | Moved, one before path to one after path | 0 (51 tests) | | Added: TST-02 table, SHL-15 timeout message | +2 | | Reattached orphaned usage_spend tests | +10 | | After | 569 | ### TST-02: 39 removed names, each now a row of fetch_context_resolves_each_case Each row label matches the old test name. Two old tests were already multi-case loops, and they now span several rows each: Raycast has four and Zed has two. | Removed test | Replacement row label(s) | |---|---| | No test names were removed, so there are no rows to map. ### SHL-02: 12 tests deleted with the PopOut positioning chain PopOut was retired as a layout in #712, and the flyout TrayPanel is the only dashboard. Each of these tests covered a function that only PopOut positioning called, and those functions were deleted in 72d5a10. - shell::tests::visible_surface_position_falls_back_to_current_monitor_without_available_monitors - shell::tests::visible_surface_position_without_anchor_prefers_primary_over_offview_current_monitor (see "Known coverage gap" below) - shell::tests::visible_surface_position_anchor_lookup_uses_monitor_bounds - shell::tests::tray_reveal_fallback_only_for_hidden_tray_panel and shell::tests::tray_reveal_fallback_recovers_tiny_shell_window: these tested a reveal predicate that only the tests called. - shell::tests::same_mode_reopen_request_resolves_as_update and shell::tests::same_mode_reopen_still_uses_default_position: these tested a same-mode reopen path that no caller forces. - surface_target::tests::parse_provider_target and surface_target::tests::parse_settings_about_target: these tested SurfaceTarget::parse, which had no non-test caller. ### Deleted duplicates (25), each with the twin that still runs SHL-04 (4813f5b): 19 tray_bridge tests repeated tests that already ran in tray_presentation_tests. - tray_bridge::tests::automatic_picks_highest_among_model_and_extra_windows (twin tray_presentation::tests::automatic_picks_highest_among_model_and_extra_windows) - tray_bridge::tests::automatic_prefers_exhausted_weekly_over_low_session (twin tray_presentation::tests::automatic_prefers_exhausted_weekly_over_low_session) - tray_bridge::tests::two_meaningful_quotas_keep_two_meter_layout (twin tray_presentation::tests::two_meaningful_quotas_keep_two_meter_layout) SHL-15 (5d48192): commands/providers.rs held an inline reset_backfill_tests module, and it repeated six tests from reset_backfill::tests. The bodies are identical except for comments. - commands::providers::reset_backfill_tests::f6_backfills_future_cached_reset (twin commands::providers::reset_backfill::tests::f6_backfills_future_cached_reset) - commands::providers::reset_backfill_tests::f6_does_not_backfill_stale_cached_reset (twin commands::providers::reset_backfill::tests::f6_does_not_backfill_stale_cached_reset) - commands::providers::reset_backfill_tests::f6_does_not_overwrite_existing_resets_at (twin commands::providers::reset_backfill::tests::f6_does_not_overwrite_existing_resets_at) - commands::providers::reset_backfill_tests::f6_skips_non_codex_provider (twin commands::providers::reset_backfill::tests::f6_skips_non_codex_provider) - commands::providers::reset_backfill_tests::f6_skips_when_no_cached_snapshot (twin commands::providers::reset_backfill::tests::f6_skips_when_no_cached_snapshot) - commands::providers::reset_backfill_tests::zai_five_hour_backfill_rejects_impossible_cached_reset (twin commands::providers::reset_backfill::tests::zai_five_hour_backfill_rejects_impossible_cached_reset) ### Added (2) - commands::fetch_context_tests::fetch_context_resolves_each_case (TST-02 table). - commands::providers::predictive_warning_tests::provider_timeout_error_message_is_plain_timeout (SHL-15). It pins the timeout message that the simplified engine builds. ### Reattached orphaned tests (10, 74acd32) commands/usage_spend/tests.rs had not been compiled since 749f3a7. That commit dropped #[cfg(test)] mod tests; while resolving a merge conflict. Adding the line back restores these tests, and they pass without code changes: - commands::usage_spend::tests::daily_period_cost_follows_the_selected_window - commands::usage_spend::tests::invalidated_owner_clears_orphaned_indexing_activity - commands::usage_spend::tests::long_provider_daily_history_does_not_widen_the_fixed_columns - commands::usage_spend::tests::month_to_date_identity_changes_across_a_month_boundary - commands::usage_spend::tests::old_owner_cleanup_cannot_clear_a_replacement - commands::usage_spend::tests::pi_history_is_an_alternate_view_not_a_shared_overview_source - commands::usage_spend::tests::privacy_mode_is_part_of_usage_spend_cache_identity - commands::usage_spend::tests::selected_period_is_part_of_usage_spend_cache_identity - commands::usage_spend::tests::selected_period_scan_reuses_fixed_windows_and_scans_other_periods - commands::usage_spend::tests::settings_replacement_preserves_an_intentional_pause ### Moves (51), path change only - 6: commands::tests to commands::fetch_context_tests - 13: commands::tests to commands::tests::cookie_region_options - 19: commands::tests to commands::tests::provider_cache - 9: commands::tests to commands::tests::provider_detail - 3: tray_bridge::tests to tray_presentation::tests - 1: tray_bridge::tests to tray_menu::tests ## Commands run (at 5cec5b1) - cargo fmt --all -- --check: clean. - cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets -- -D warnings: clean. - cargo test -p codexbar-desktop-tauri: 569 passed, 0 failed. - cargo test -p codexbar: 3751 passed, 0 failed. - .\scripts\local-check.ps1 -Slice ci: passed (Local checks passed.): 4320 cargo tests, 0 failed; Vitest 748 tests in 103 files, all passed; oxlint, type check, frontend build and interaction-guard tests all clean. - pnpm --dir apps/desktop-tauri run tauri:build:debug: built. - Proof kit whole-app suite (suite.py + report.py): 445 pass, 0 fail, 14 info. ## Proof Whole-app proof-kit suite at 5cec5b1. It is a tauri:build:debug exe with the proof dirs/reqwest shim applied in a separate detached worktree, and the shim is not committed. It ran all four phases: tray, settings, providers and persistence. The result is 445 pass, 0 fail and 14 info, with 130 screenshots. Kit windows were parked on the secondary monitor the whole run, and the app never took the foreground. - Report: C:\Users\FSOS\AppData\Local\Win-CodexBar\port-audit\proof-kit\runs\suite-20261010-144449\report.html. Outside the Claude app's MSIX container, the same folder is at C:\Users\FSOS\AppData\Local\Packages\Claude_pzs8sxrjxfjjc\LocalCache\Local\Win-CodexBar\port-audit\proof-kit\runs\suite-20261010-144449. - Raw results: results.json and meta.json in the same folder. The 14 info rows are the registry baseline and final value, untranslated tab names in Spanish ("General") and Portuguese (Brazil) ("Menu"), the applied non-default settings set, the parked-window count, and one by-design note: proof mode renders the panel on main, so "Always on top" on the tray-click flyout can't be checked without a real tray click. An earlier run at 14:31 showed 17 native-read failures. The cua-driver daemon wasn't running, so every list_windows call returned an error. The baseline run at main 3226d2f had the same failures for the same reason. After the daemon was started, the rerun above is clean. The kit does not cover these: tray icon pixels and the native tray menu, real provider logins, multi-monitor placement, and DPI scaling. ## Known coverage gap When the flyout has no cursor position and no tray anchor, shell/flyout_window.rs (around lines 455-465) tries window.current_monitor() before primary_monitor(). A PopOut test guarded the same hazard, visible_surface_position_without_anchor_prefers_primary_over_offview_current_monitor: the current monitor can be one that is off view. That test was deleted with PopOut (SHL-02). A flyout test for this case would have to assert the opposite order, and that is a behavior fix, so it is left for a follow-up. ## Risk notes - SHL-11: show_float_bar, hide_float_bar, set_float_bar_opacity, set_float_bar_click_through, set_float_bar_orientation and claude_accounts_list are no longer registered as Tauri commands. A grep of apps/desktop-tauri/src found no invoke calls to them. Any external script that invoked them would now get an unknown-command error. - SHL-03: the Focused(false) arm in main.rs for the main window is kept on purpose. The set_surface_mode("trayPanel", ...) IPC command can still reach it outside proof mode, so it goes with SHL-01. - God-file splits: all of them are moves. Some private items in the new child modules are now pub(super) or pub(in crate::commands) so the parent's re-exports compile. No visibility outside the crate changed. ## Not done in this PR SHL-07, SHL-08, SHL-09, SHL-12, SHL-14, SHL-16, SHL-17 and SHL-18 were left for scope and time. SHL-01 and SHL-06 belong to other PRs. commands/fetch_context_tests.rs stays at 813 lines.

Merge with main and validation

origin/main was merged into this branch at 1e97e289 (includes #795 and #798). The merge commit is aad238c5b, with parents 5cec5b1a (this branch) and 1e97e289 (main). The push was fast-forward only.

Merge notes:

  • Main's behavior was carried into the branch's split layout. Main-side changes that land in files this branch moved (commands/providers.rs, commands/tests.rs, tray_bridge.rs, usage_spend.rs, settings.rs, flyout_window.rs) were ported into the new modules.
  • Main's new provider-detail redaction (labels "Account", "Credits", "quota") is kept. The branch's provider-detail expectations were updated to match.
  • Main's tests for the moved code were ported:
    • pick_tray_provider (3), usage_spend (3), bridge wording (2), limit_reset_sample (3), usage_item_descriptors (3, new file commands/tests/usage_items.rs), and the opencodego cookie-off fetch-context test.
    • Helpers were made pub(super) where the ported tests need them.
  • The tray fixture keeps pace_authoritative: true, which main's tests expect.
  • shell/flyout_placement.rs is deleted. Main removed it in c569b06, and the merge follows that.
  • Main's shell/flyout_window.rs test now reads src/styles/tray-panel.css. That file exists on main after Simplify the frontend: dead code, shared test helpers and godfile splits #798.
  • No file under apps/desktop-tauri/src or rust/ differs from main (git diff origin/main HEAD -- apps/desktop-tauri/src rust is empty).

Commands and results on the merge commit aad238c5b:

  • cargo fmt --all -- --check: clean.
  • cargo test --manifest-path apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/Cargo.toml: 686 passed, 0 failed.
  • cargo test --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml: 4834 passed, 0 failed, 2 ignored. rust/ is unchanged from the previous validated merge state, so this is the earlier run.
  • cargo clippy --manifest-path apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/Cargo.toml --all-targets -- -D warnings: clean.
  • cargo clippy --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml --all-targets -- -D warnings: clean (run on the previous merge state; rust/ is unchanged).
  • Frontend, from apps/desktop-tauri with pnpm 11.25.0 and Node 22.22.0:
    • pnpm install --frozen-lockfile: OK.
    • pnpm run lint: 0 errors.
    • pnpm run test: 145 files, 1371 tests passed.
    • pnpm run build: OK.
    • pnpm run check:anti-slop: OK.
    • pnpm run test:anti-slop: 2 of 2 passed.
  • git diff --check reports only whitespace that is already on main (AGENTS.md, styles, and a .ansi fixture). It is not introduced by this branch.

Test inventory against main: main has 735 test names and this branch has 680 on the same merge base, so 57 names are missing. All 57 are in the removed-test tables above (TST-02 39, PopOut chain 12, SHL-03 dead code 6). Each one is either folded into a table row or deleted with its code.

Provider Data Stays Siloed: the provider-specific branching in commands/providers/fetch_context.rs, commands/providers/notify.rs, and auto_resume/session_target.rs was moved out of main's commands/providers.rs. It is not new branching. No cross-provider data path was added.

Not run: pnpm run proof:check (needs a browser). The CUA desktop proof for the merged build is pending. The proof-kit run above was at 5cec5b1a, before this merge, and it has to be rerun on a fresh tauri:build:debug of aad238c5b before merge.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added support for resuming eligible Codex and Claude sessions in their original workspaces.
    • Added provider service-status and quota-warning information to settings, plus additional usage and preference details.
    • Added local usage-summary caching and refresh support to make usage views more responsive.
    • Expanded usage summaries with spend trends and token activity when data is available.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Improved provider refresh handling so timeouts and fetch failures follow consistent error and cached-data behavior.
    • Tray clicks now open or toggle the dedicated flyout; PopOut windows use remembered positions when available.

📝 Walkthrough

The pull request reorganizes desktop provider, bridge, usage, session-resume, and window code. It adds provider fetch-context, notification, local-usage cache, spend-summary, and settings-snapshot modules. It also changes shell transitions, floatbar commands, and shared positioning helpers.

Changes: CLI session resume

Layer / File(s) Summary
Capture and validation
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/auto_resume.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/auto_resume/session_target.rs
Session capture rejects managed accounts, scan failures, and ambiguous sessions. Candidates must meet provider, local CLI, session ID, and workspace checks.
Resume command launch
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/auto_resume/session_target.rs
Codex and Claude resume commands use provider-specific arguments and the captured workspace. Missing binaries and process launch failures return errors.

Provider context, refresh, and notifications

Layer / File(s) Summary
Fetch-context resolution
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/providers/fetch_context.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/fetch_context_tests.rs
Fetch contexts resolve credentials, cookies, token accounts, source modes, regions, browser imports, and timeouts.
Refresh and failure handling
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/providers.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/tests/provider_cache.rs
Refresh reservation and completion use direct state handling. Timeout and provider-error results share snapshot-retention logic.
Quota notifications
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/providers/notify.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/providers/predictive_warning_tests.rs
Notification processing updates tray status, dispatches quota hooks, records eligible reset samples, and evaluates predictive warnings.

Usage snapshots and spend

Layer / File(s) Summary
Bridge snapshot contracts
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/bridge.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/bridge/settings_snapshot.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/bridge/tests.rs
The bridge adds settings and provider-status snapshot data. Snapshot defaults and UTC reset parsing are centralized.
Local usage cache
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/chart/local_usage_cache.rs
Local-usage caching checks period identity, TTL, cancellation, and cost-tracking state. Refresh can update pricing and record scan failures.
Spend summaries
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/usage_spend/build.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/usage_spend/cache_key_tests.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/usage_spend/tests.rs
Spend summaries combine provider scans, local history, imports, cached snapshots, reporting periods, and trend data.

Window, shell, and tray

Layer / File(s) Summary
Floatbar display handling
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/floatbar/*, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/main.rs
Floatbar display settings pass through Settings. Removed floatbar commands are no longer registered. Window presentation reapplies activation and topmost properties.
Shell transitions and positioning
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/shell/*, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/state.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/window_positioner.rs
Same-mode requests resolve as no-ops. PopOut fallback positioning and startup blur-grace state are removed. Shared rectangle and scale helpers are used in positioning code.
Settings, tray, and usage tests
apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/commands/settings/tests.rs, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/tray_*, apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/src/usage_metric/tests.rs
Tests cover settings patches, provider and usage snapshots, tray selection, and provider-specific usage-metric selection.

Full details: Provider Data Stays Siloed

Explanation

No provider-silo failure was introduced. Provider cache updates and account invalidation remain keyed by the same provider ID (commands/providers.rs:54-100), and notification identity resolves the snapshot provider before reading that provider’s active account (commands/providers/notify.rs:25-41). Bridge defaults clear identity fields instead of borrowing them (commands/bridge.rs:129-165). The provider-specific ProviderId branches in the new child modules are moves from the base providers.rs, auto_resume.rs, chart.rs, and bridge.rs; the diff does not add new cross-provider branching or cross-provider identity, plan, label, or email routing.

Full details: Secrets Handled Safely

Explanation

No changed path sends a real credential to logs, user errors, snapshots, or credential files. The new provider warning logs an error already passed through codexbar::logging::safe_error_message, and the auto-resume logs contain only provider/status data. Changed files are Rust sources; no credential file or keyring deletion is introduced. The cookie and API-key literals are synthetic test fixtures that already existed in the base inline tests, and no snapshot files were added.

Full details: No Unapproved Dependencies

Explanation

The PR diff changes 54 source and test files only. It does not modify any Cargo.toml, package.json, npm/yarn/pnpm lockfile, or pnpm packageManager setting. No dependency addition is present, so maintainer approval is not required.

Full details: Ui Changes Include Windows Proof

Explanation

The PR changes visible UI behavior. The diff modifies the float bar, shell positioning/window transitions, and window presentation. The description reports that merged-build desktop proof is pending and that proof:check was not run. It includes no screenshots or completed fresh-Windows UI proof note.

Resolution

Run a fresh Windows desktop build, verify the changed float bar and shell/window behavior, and add screenshots or a clear Windows proof note to the PR description. State any untested areas explicitly.

Bring main's shell changes into the split test and module layout of the
branch. The branch layout is kept; main's behavior and tests are ported
into the new locations.

- Keep the branch's module split (commands/tests/*, commands/providers/*,
  commands/usage_spend/*, commands/chart/*, commands/settings/tests.rs,
commands/bridge/*) and apply main's changes to it.
- Delete shell/flyout_placement.rs: main removed remembered flyout
placement in c569b06. The branch only changed cosmetics there.
- Port main-only tests into the split layout: pick_tray_provider,
  usage_spend, bridge wording, limit_reset_sample, usage_item_descriptors
(new commands/tests/usage_items.rs), and the OpenCode Go cookie-off test.
- Align the branch's provider_detail usage-item redaction expectations with
main's current behavior (main changed title redaction in usage_items.rs).
- Restore pace_authoritative in the tray fixture, since the branch's
Default derive would otherwise default it to false.
- cargo fmt --all.

Validation: cargo fmt --check, cargo clippy -D warnings (both manifests),
cargo test (both manifests: 686 and 4834 passed), frontend lint, test
(1352 passed), build, check:anti-slop and test:anti-slop.

UI proof (hybrid CDP + CUA, build 3dcaf23)

Whole-app desktop suite on a fresh local build of this head (3dcaf23575f5), run on a real Windows desktop. The app ran from an isolated home with synthetic Codex and Claude seed data (example.com identities), on the secondary monitor, and never took focus.

Result: 428 pass, 0 fail, 19 info (four phases: tray, settings, providers, persistence; 635 s).

Area Checks Method Result
Tray panel seeded values, provider switcher, Ctrl+, opens Settings CDP DOM 14 pass
Tray panel window visible, DWM dark under theme auto, not topmost Win32/DWM pass
Settings window visible, DWM dark under auto, not topmost Win32/DWM pass
Settings panes (General, Usage & Spend, Notifications, Menu Bar, Menu, Advanced, Hooks, About) every toggle, select and slider round-trip; value persisted, then restored CDP clicks + get_settings_snapshot 156 pass
Theme light / dark / auto page luminance 0.96 / 0.11, restored CDP pass
Float bar on: topmost + layered + dark-pinned; orientation, style, size (82 → 154 → 200 px wide), opacity (layered alpha 76 / 140 / 255) Win32 + CUA shots pass
Hide personal information no seeded email in the Codex or Claude pane while on; shown again when off CDP pass
Providers all 106 provider panes open; every toggle and select round-trips CDP + get_provider_detail 245 pass
Persistence non-default set survives restart (light theme, vertical float bar, emails masked); defaults restore through the UI and survive restart restart + CDP + Win32 10 pass
Refresh / Ctrl+R / Quit real fetch ran, app alive; Quit exits the process CDP + process list pass
Registry HKCU Run and NotifyIconSettings equal the baseline after all flips winreg pass
Focus foreground window never belonged to the app Win32 pass

Info rows (not failures): footer zoom slider and float-bar "Reset to defaults" are not in this build's UI (removed on main); the providers sidebar reorders by drag only; i18n rows list pane names per language (system follows the English system language); "Always on top" on the real tray-click flyout needs a tray click, which proof mode does not do.

Screenshots: 151 real-pixel CUA captures (runs/suite-20261018-131608/shots, kept locally; reviewed: synthetic example.com data only, no personal data). gh cannot upload images to a comment.

Not covered: tray icon pixels and the native tray menu; Always on top on the tray-click flyout.

The suite needed kit-side selector updates for UI changes already on main (Settings sidebar panes, "% left" rows, split email spans, renamed labels). This PR only touches apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri, so none of those were regressions.
