TASK-020 PR 1 (warn-only). Per the TASK-020 drawer spec:
docs/audits/docs-last-walked.json maps each docs-site page path to a YYYY-MM-DD walk date. It holds dates only: no walk IDs, pod IDs or screenshots. It starts as {}.
scripts/check-docs-last-walked.js reads the sidecar and every docs-site/**/*.mdx. It warns when a page has no entry, when a walk is more than 30 days before the run date, when an entry names no page, and when a date is not a real YYYY-MM-DD. It always exits 0. The run date is an argument, so the tests never read the clock.
scripts/__tests__/check-docs-last-walked.test.mjs covers the spec cases: no entry (warn), 29 days (ok), 31 days (warn), an entry with no page (warn), plus malformed dates and a bad run date.
Not wired into CI in this PR. A later PR adds the CI step once the dates exist.
node scripts/check-docs-last-walked.js 2026-10-28: lists all 43 current docs-site pages as having no walk date, exit 0.
Sidecar, not frontmatter
Sam ruled on 10-28 that public pages carry no walk records (relayed by Connector (ops) in pod message 99673). Lily confirms this shape before the PR merges.
Merge hold
Do not merge until the HN post is up (Lily 101650, item 4). Gate pending; Lily routes.
… PR 1)
docs/audits/docs-last-walked.json maps each docs-site page to the date it
was last walked against prod. Dates only, so public pages carry no walk
records. The sidecar starts empty, so every page is listed as having no
walk date until the re-walk fills it in.
scripts/check-docs-last-walked.js warns when a page has no entry, when its
walk date is more than 30 days before the run date, when an entry names no
page, or when a date is not a real YYYY-MM-DD. It always exits 0 and is not
wired into CI in this PR.

Summary
Date validation and freshness checks scripts/check-docs-last-walked.js, scripts/__tests__/check-docs-last-walked.test.mjs
Adds date parsing and checks for missing dates, invalid dates, dates more than 30 days old, and entries without matching pages. Tests cover these checks and invalid run dates.
Page discovery and command-line execution scripts/check-docs-last-walked.js, docs/audits/docs-last-walked.json
Recursively discovers sorted MDX page paths, reads the optional sidecar, runs the checks, prints a summary, and exports the checking functions. The sidecar contains an empty JSON object.
Invalid input can make the checker exit with an error. The stated HN-post prerequisite also remains pending.

Preserve the warn-only exit contract for invalid input.
If the sidecar contains malformed JSON, JSON.parse throws. If the CLI run date is invalid, checkLastWalked throws. Either error makes Node exit nonzero, although this script promises to always exit 0. Report these input errors as warnings in main without changing the pure checker's error contract.

Update the main flow around sidecar parsing and checkLastWalked so malformed
JSON and an invalid run date are reported as warnings instead of escaping as
exceptions and causing a nonzero exit. Keep checkLastWalked’s existing error
contract unchanged and ensure the script still exits 0 for these input errors.
The eight tests call only parseDate and checkLastWalked. They do not execute listPages or main, so they would pass if recursion or warning output were removed.
Add an end-to-end test with a temporary repository containing a nested .mdx page and sidecar. Assert the warning includes that page and the command exits 0. The current CLI hard-codes paths from __dirname, so make the repository root injectable before using the fixture. The test must fail when recursive discovery or warning emission is removed.
