TASK-732 (D223 lift): the agent Memory tab rebuilt from docs/design/artboards/d215/index.html #s-memory, frame agent-memory, route /v2/agents/:name/:instance/memory.

  • Markup follows the frame: v2p-ph agent bar (76px, 28px left pad), v2p-seg Profile / Memory / Settings, 200px group nav with counts, search, grouped note lists, journal date rows, the info tip on the first group, and the phone details rows (44px, chevron) at 390.
  • CSS is its own file, V2AgentMemory.css. The old v2-agent-memory* rules are deleted from v2-agent-settings.css (pinned by a layout-invariant test), not overridden.
  • Tests: V2AgentMemory, layout invariants, primitives, and all of src/v2 + src/i18n pass (2092).

Not built, because the frame draws it but the API has no data or endpoint, and I won't ship dead controls: per-note tags and recency, hover pin/edit/more, the "connected" dot (the header shows the existing "Active in N pods" text), Identity and Shared nav entries. The header Talk-to button is wired: it posts to /api/agents/runtime/room (the same idempotent endpoint as the profile and Your Team) and opens the DM, with an inline error if that fails. The More button is left out until it has actions.

Not rendered: this seat has no signed-in browser, so the 1440/390 light and dark frame diff is owed from a build of this head. Measured-standard exceptions: none known; contrast and touch sizes come from the primitives.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Memory markup now follows the artboard: v2p-ph agent bar (76px), v2p-seg
Profile/Memory/Settings, 200px group nav with counts, search, grouped note
lists, journal rows and the phone details rows. Its CSS is the new
V2AgentMemory.css; the old v2-agent-memory rules are deleted from
v2-agent-settings.css, not overridden.

Not drawn because the API has no data or endpoint for it: per-note tags,
per-note recency, hover pin/edit/more, the connected dot, Identity and
Shared nav entries. The Talk-to and More header buttons are not wired.

Walkthrough

The Agent Memory page now uses V2 layout classes, button-based navigation, and a separate responsive stylesheet. It retains grouped notes and timestamps, tracks the active group, adds a privacy tooltip, and can open a runtime room.

Changes: Agent Memory page

Layer / File(s) Summary
Memory page markup and navigation
frontend/src/v2/agents/V2AgentMemory.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2AgentMemory.test.tsx
The page adopts V2 layout classes and button-based navigation. It retains grouped notes, counts, timestamps, and journal rendering. It tracks the active nonempty group, adds a privacy tooltip, and requests a runtime room when the agent button is clicked. Tests cover successful navigation, request failure, active navigation state, and updated selectors.
Memory page layout and responsive styles

A separate stylesheet defines the page layout, note styles, and desktop and mobile behavior. The memory styles are removed from the settings stylesheet. Tests check the separate stylesheet and responsive rules.

HEAD 6bc7af6
GATE: PASS

Side-by-side against the d215 #s-memory frame, light only (D215: dark moves to TASK-680).

Method, and its limit: there is no signed-in build, so I did not produce screenshots. I rendered the component's real markup with mocked data (jest dump) and compared its CSS value by value against the frame's own <style> for the same classes. My browser could not load the combined page, so no pixels were compared at 1440 or 390. Treat the 1440/390 look as unverified by eye; the numbers below are verified.

Matches the frame exactly

  • .mem 200px + 1fr, 24px gap; nav items 34px / 9px gap / 8px radius / 13.5px; counts 11px at the row end.
  • .mnote padding 11px 14px, 22px icon column, 10px gap, 13.5px/20px text; .jday 70px date column, 12px gap, 10px 14px padding; .gtitle 11.5px mono, 4px/8px margins.
  • List radius 12px with the inset hairline; header 76px with 28px left padding; the 390 groups use the frame's 44px details.grp rows, 14px radius, rotating chevron.
  • Tests: V2AgentMemory and layout invariants, 304/304 at this head. CI and CodeRabbit show no failing check.

Defects, fix forward (none blocks)

  1. The frame's .mnav div.on (tint ground, 600 weight on the current group) has no counterpart: the nav is plain anchors with hover only, so no group reads as current.
  2. The info tip opens with right:-8px; the frame uses left:-8px. Right is the safer choice with the info at the row end, so keep it, but record the deviation in the CSS comment.
  3. Declared gaps stand: tags and recency, hover actions, connected dot, Talk to and More, Identity and Shared nav. Each needs data or an endpoint, so none is a defect in this PR.
  4. The group time reads "Section updated 22h ago"; the frame says "saved 1h ago". Fine, because the frame's wording promises a per-note save the API does not give.

Still owed after deploy: the staging frame diff at 1440 and 390 (operator run), and the dark pass.

HEAD 3de361f
GATE: PASS

Re-gate after my PASS at 6bc7af6. The only change since is the header Talk-to button (2 files: V2AgentMemory.tsx and its test).

Checked

  • Talk to posts to /api/agents/runtime/room with the agent name and instance, the same call the profile and first-run hero use, then goes to /v2/pods/<room>. A failure shows the existing openRoomFailed line (en and zh-CN both have it) and re-enables the button. The button is disabled while the call runs.
  • It uses the frame's v2p-b v2p-b-s v2p-ib classes from the primitives, all of which exist, and has a title and an aria-label ("Talk to "). More is left out, as agreed.
  • Tests: V2AgentMemory and layout invariants 306/306 at this head.
  • My CSS-vs-frame comparison from the first review still holds, because no CSS changed. Same limit as before: I did not render pixels at 1440 or 390, and I did not check dark.

Carried over, fix forward: the frame's selected nav item (tint, 600 weight) is still missing. The error line sits between the header and the body at full width; fine for a rare failure.

Keep desktop groups open for keyboard users.

pointer-events: none blocks pointer activation, not keyboard activation. A focused <summary> can still close its initially open group; the notes then disappear, and a pointer cannot reopen them. Make desktop group headings non-interactive by structure or prevent desktop keyboard toggling without disabling phone disclosure behavior. The HTML standard defines summary activation as toggling its parent <details>. (html.spec.whatwg.org)

V2AgentMemory.css changes both desktop and phone layouts. Run the signed-in MCP Playwright check at 1440px and 390px, including screenshots. The Jest and CSS-presence tests cannot replace this check because jsdom has no layout engine. This identifies a verification gap, not an observed visual defect.

Test the new header navigation behavior.

The access-denied fixture only checks that the Profile button exists. It does not activate Profile or Settings, or assert either destination. Removing the navigation handlers would still pass this test. Add routing assertions for both controls, including /v2/agent/... for Profile and /v2/agents/... for Settings.

Test a room response without room._id.

This test covers a rejected request, but not the new guard for a successful response without a room ID. Add a test that resolves the POST with { data: { room: {} } }. Assert that the alert appears, the Talk-to button becomes enabled, and the Memory page remains mounted. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Wrap long journal text.

Journal snippets can contain long unbroken text. Unlike the other note rows, this row has no overflow-wrap; .v2m-list then clips the text, so users cannot read it. Allow journal text to wrap within its grid column. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Keep closed groups accessible on desktop.

pointer-events: none does not stop keyboard activation of the native summary. A user can also close a group on phone and then widen the window. In either case, desktop mouse users cannot reopen the group or see its notes. Keep desktop groups open, or allow their summaries to reopen them. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

11-11: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Clip the long desktop agent name with an ellipsis.

The desktop .v2m-ahead h1 rule uses white-space: nowrap but has no overflow containment. A long display name therefore does not wrap, and it is not clipped. Its header item can shrink below the text width, so the text extends past the item into the Profile / Memory / Settings control. The phone rule already clips the name. The desktop rule does not.

Add the same containment to the base rule. The phone block already sets these two declarations, so the phone result does not change.

Suggested fix
-.v2m-ahead h1 { font: 800 24px/1 var(--v2-font-display); letter-spacing: -0.03em; margin: 0; white-space: nowrap; }
+.v2m-ahead h1 { font: 800 24px/1 var(--v2-font-display); letter-spacing: -0.03em; margin: 0; white-space: nowrap; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; }

This is load-bearing overflow CSS. Add a presence assertion for the new declarations in frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts.

Addresses Sable's gate review (2 of 3 filter points + the merge_group decision):

- merge_group now runs every heavy leg (presser ruling). Heavy suites skip only
on an unrelated pull_request; the queue keeps full coverage so an inter-PR
  conflict between two concurrently-queued PRs (e.g. #3186's v2-layout-invariants
failure) is caught as a dequeue, not as red-on-main.
- backend filter includes packages/: backend imports packages/commonly-apps,
  packages/integration-sdk and maps packages/seats in jest.config.js, so a
packages/ edit must run backend-tests + service-test, not just typecheck.
- git diff uses --no-renames so a file moved out of backend/ or frontend/ still
reports the old path and triggers the right legs.

Not applied: docs/design/ and e2e/ in the frontend filter. Verified neither is a
test input — signalAccent.test.ts asserts an href string in rendered preview
HTML (it reads design-system/preview/, not the .md), and the e2e/ reference in
v2-layout-invariants.test.ts is a comment. Adding them would run frontend-tests
on edits the suite does not exercise; and with merge_group now full, any real
cross-file breakage is caught in the queue regardless.
