feat(v2): agent room and agent DM states follow the d215 frame - #3241
The 1:1 rooms (agent-room, and agent-dm for an observer) now take their state rows, read-only note and header from the d215 frame ("Agent room and agent DM", docs/design/artboards/d215/index.html, #3195).
State rows above the composer (.v2-chat__agent-room-status, frame .rstat)
Never connected: alert icon and the line. The owner also gets "To connect it, run:" and the command as a mono block with a copy key (frame .rcmd). Everyone else gets the line alone.
Gone dark: info icon, no command.
Unknown reach state: no row. Live showed "availability is unknown. A reply may take longer." The frame rules that out, so a failed status read never reads as offline. The group-pod rows already worked this way. The now-unused agentRoomLiveness.unknown string is removed.
Waiting: mono, with an ink pulse dot (live used the success green; a reply that hasn't come is not a success). It reuses the presence pulse and drops it under reduced motion.
Timed out: info icon, no dot, not mono.
A group pod's not-running agent rows take the same row shape and icons.
Read-only note (.v2-chat__readonly, frame .rro): the lock sits in a 28px circle, a bold title and the text below it, and an inset hairline in place of the border. There's still no composer.
Header: a 1:1 room shows a mono "DM" chip and drops the board count and member stack. An observer of an agent DM also gets a "read only" chip, so the state shows before the note. zh-CN: 私信 / 只读 / 复制命令.
CSS is lifted into chat/chat-states.css (state rows, read-only) and chat/chat-pane.css (header chip), with frame tokens mapped to v2 tokens. The old rules are replaced, not kept beside the new ones. New shell glyphs: copy, check, info, alert (the frame's paths).
Exceptions to the lifted frame
The copy key is 44px on a phone (32px on desktop, as drawn).
On a phone the read-only note's bottom margin is 66px: the frame's 12px plus the fixed 54px tab bar. The composer clears the bar the same way. Without this the bar covered the lower half of the note. That clip is on main today too: measured at 390, the note ran to y 828 under a bar starting at 786. It now ends at 778.
Not lifted in this PR: the runtime chip in the header (the frame draws "claude" in mono) and the 56px avatar on the empty states. Both need a decision on what the runtime label says. They'll follow as their own row.
Tests (V2ThreadStarter.test.tsx, v2-layout-invariants.test.ts), each reverse-verified: the fix removed, the test fails; restored, it passes.
An unknown reach state shows no row.
Gone dark shows no command, even to the owner.
The copy key writes the command and confirms with "Copied!".
Timed out drops the dot and the mono face.
The 1:1 header shows "DM" with no faces or board; an observer sees "read only", the lock note and no composer.
CSS invariants: row margin, ink dot, the 44px phone copy key, and the phone note clearing the tab bar.
V2ThreadStarter, V2ThreadHeaderInvite and the layout invariants pass 350/350.
Browser check against staging, with the pod shape and reach states mocked by route interception (the staging test account has no DM pod): never connected, gone dark, unknown, waiting and read-only, at 1440 and 390, en and zh-CN, light, plus dark for never connected, waiting and read-only. No horizontal overflow and no page errors. The copy key measured 32px on desktop and 44px on a phone, and the clipboard received the command.
The 1:1 rooms take their state rows, read-only note and header from the
frame:
- Reach rows carry an icon (alert for never connected, info for gone dark).
The owner's fix command is a mono block with a copy key. An unknown reach
state shows no row, so a failed status read never reads as offline.
- The reply wait is mono with an ink pulse dot, not the success green.
Timed out drops the dot and the mono face.
- The read-only note uses the lock in a 28px circle; the header carries a
"DM" chip and, for an observer, a "read only" chip, with no board count
or member stack.
Old rules are replaced in chat-states.css. Exception to the lifted frame:
the copy key is 44px on a phone.

On a phone the note replaced the composer but kept a 12px bottom margin,
so the fixed 54px tab bar covered its lower half. It now clears the bar the
way the composer does.

The thread UI now labels direct pods and read-only access with header chips. Agent liveness rows show selected reach states and, when available, an owner’s copyable fix command. Reply-wait states, related styling, translations, and tests are updated.

Agent rooms and agent DMs show DM and applicable read-only chips instead of board, member-face, and channel metadata. Read-only notes use updated layout and styling. Tests cover direct-pod headers and observer read-only behavior.

Direct-room liveness rows appear for never-connected and gone-dark states. Owners can copy an available fix command and see a copied confirmation. Group-agent and reply-wait rows use updated icons and status styling; timed-out waits no longer retain the wait modifier. Tests cover reach states, copying, timeout behavior, and layout.
Add the focused clipboard rejection test before relying on this UI change; the remaining classification concern is not established.

The phone head carries the DM chip alone; the frame draws "read only"
only at 1440. Group-pod liveness rows take the row shape but not the
status icon, which the frame never draws for them.

Single review round (Opus, fresh context) at cd9572e, plus two fixes from its notes at 0afaf7f.
Defects: none.
Checked
Behaviour. A direct-agent row appears only for never-connected and gone-dark; unknown, listening, reachable and a missing state show none. The fix command shows only to the owner on never-connected. The copy key writes to the clipboard, resets after 2s, clears its timer on cleanup, and a failed write leaves the command selectable. Waiting carries --wait and the dot; timed out has the info icon, no dot, no mono. isReadOnly is unchanged. Board, faces and channels drop only for agent-room/agent-dm; group pods take the original branches.
Hooks. The new useState and useEffect sit above the if (!pod) early return.
Leftovers. Old rules are replaced in place. agentRoomLiveness.unknown has no references left; REACH_IS_ACTIVE is still used. Removed classes appear only in the updated tests.
Tokens, dark mode, motion. Every token used exists with dark values; the pulse stops under reduced motion.
zh-CN. 私信 / 只读 / 复制命令 follow the glossary; no 您.
Fidelity. Every value in .rstat, .rcmd, .rcmd code, .rro, .rro-i, .rro b/span and .chip matches the frame once tokens are mapped; phone margins and the 44px copy key match. The 66px read-only bottom margin is the noted tab-bar exception.
Tests. 23 suites that touch V2Thread, agent rooms or read-only: 597/597 pass.
The phone header carried "read only", which the frame draws only at 1440. The compact meta now renders "DM" alone. New assertion, reverse-verified: with directChips restored in the compact meta, the observer test fails; with the fix, V2ThreadStarter, V2PodAgentLiveness and the layout invariants pass 362/362.
Group-pod liveness rows had gained a status icon the frame never draws for them. The icon is removed; they keep the lifted row shape.
Noted, not changed
Copy-key hover uses --v2-surface-hover. The frame's .b-g:hover is --t, the same fill as the .rcmd block behind the key, so the hover would be invisible (a 3:1 marks exception).
The frame's CSS draws the key at 28px (.ib.b-sm); its note says 32 at 1440. This follows the note.
The waiting dot reuses v2-presence-pulse (scale 0.6, opacity 0.6) rather than the frame's own keyframes (0.5, 0.55). The frame's note says it pulses like the "is thinking" presence.
"Copied" is an aria-label change inside a role="status" row; some screen readers may not announce it.

Add presence assertions for the command-row layout rules.
The frontend/src/v2/** guidance requires presence tests for load-bearing flex sizing and overflow rules. The new command row adds .v2-chat__agent-room-command flex layout and .v2-chat__agent-room-command code rules for flex: 1, min-width: 0, and overflow-wrap: anywhere. The layout test does not assert these rules.

Withdrawn. This review named d11eef2, which was never pushed: #3241 was already in the merge queue at 0afaf7f, where its gate stands. The command-row guard CodeRabbit asked for follows in a separate PR.
@coderabbitai Correction: the guard was not added to this PR. #3241 was already queued at 0afaf7f when I pushed, so the push was refused. The layout invariant pinning the command row's display: flex and the code cell's flex: 1, min-width: 0 and overflow-wrap: anywhere will land in a follow-up PR.
Add a rejection-path test for the clipboard handler.
When navigator.clipboard.writeText rejects, copyFixCommand catches the error and does not set fixCommandCopied. Test this path for the fix-command control. Assert that the UI does not show Copied! and that the click does not throw. The test must fail if the rejection handling is removed.

Add a rejection-path test for the fix-command control that makes
navigator.clipboard.writeText reject, clicks the control, and verifies the click
does not throw and the UI does not show “Copied!”. Ensure the test depends on
the rejection handling in copyFixCommand so it fails if that handling is

Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Use the shared direct-pod classification for header metadata.
V2PodsSidebar.isDirectPod at frontend/src/v2/components/V2PodsSidebar.tsx:126-128 treats every DM_POD_TYPES value and eligible two-human chat pod as direct. This predicate recognizes only agent-room and agent-dm. Human 1:1 pods and other DM types can therefore show board, member-face, and channel metadata instead of the DM header.
Reuse the shared classification, or move it to a shared helper. Add regression coverage for a human two-member chat pod and another DM_POD_TYPES value.

@lilyshen0722 Thanks for the correction. The layout invariant guard is not included in #3241 at 0afaf7f2. It remains pending, not addressed.
The follow-up PR should pin:
Command row: display: flex.
Code cell: flex: 1, min-width: 0, and overflow-wrap: anywhere.
Would you like me to open a GitHub issue to track the guard?
