docs: set the minimal experiment format and cut remaining overstatements - #33
Conversation
- experiments/README.md now says an experiment's record is its code and output files, with a README under about 200 words, generated results in results/, and deletion once superseded. - docs/00 records the coverage colours as a decision (gray unseen, yellow incomplete, green enough evidence but not approval), so the client code no longer needs docs/05 for it, and gives the source of each constant in its conventions list. - Say "a search found 7 usable photos" rather than "only 7 exist", and "none of the products above" rather than "nobody else". - how-it-works drops its copy of the repository map and points to the README. README no longer lists the parked web page or panel-label PR. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

The evidence section said every result came from public datasets, but PR #23 has since run the app on a real phone. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

fence-ray height from the 1 ft horizontal headroom offset; describe the latter
as an offset from the wall, not a height.

updating the overview’s “Evidence so far” references to cite the superseding
experiment before deleting the old one; preserve the instruction to keep the

* Fix harness scoring defects and add offline gates. Vendor the store harness into server/eval, project GT taps through the reconstruction intrinsics, clamp 90.2° incidence, order spans, and keep a meter on a short jamb and a dense wall in one segment. Add the replay planner, gates.yaml, and the offline table. The next commit records harness_sha. * Record the re-baseline harness SHA. Point gates.yaml and the three reference-score files at 42daee3137379bbffff2d8c257ecad1000e6199d, the commit that measured them. Geometry bars stay at the brief's values. * Fix tar replay, missing clouds, and the e2e exit code. The replay CLI extracts a tar before reading packet.json. A missing PLY is skipped instead of stacked. make e2e with CAPTURE_API_URL set returns the offline table exit code, so a passing table is not forced to 2. * Recompute gate scores and fail closed without coverage. The offline gate scores a verdict copy itself, so flipping a candidate in C.json exits non-zero. Stripped coverage rejects any pass, meter taps are not rescaled by image width, and a missing occluder PLY is an error unless the debug flag marks the report provisional. * Give import-linter real modules for the eval adapter edges. server.criteria.run and server.poses.run stay the stage callables. The new modules exist so the SD-60 ignore lines match grimp, and they omit the engine names until WS-09 and WS-04 land. * Fail closed when a declared laser, recon, or occluder PLY is missing. Eval scoring raises MissingOccluderError instead of running visibility against an empty blocker set. The debug flag marks the report provisional and skips that score. * Treat a missing tar packet as an unrecognised path. The archive branch required the path to be a file, so a missing .tar exits 2 with PacketLayoutError instead of an uncaught FileNotFoundError. * Score committed fixture verdicts against their labels. The offline gate reads c1-3d and the hs11 references against the labels from main. Facade demo start agreement is 1.0. Packet geometry still waits for a geomscore. * Reproduce the facade golden with run-hs11. The brief's command writes a verdict that matches gt.C1.g80.json aside from runtime and scene sha. The coverage method label stays the golden's producer name. * Fix the round-2 eval gates, replay client, and stage imports. SD-84 drops the criteria and poses stubs and skips with not_merged when evaluate_scene or run_poses is absent. A missing laser fails even if an occluders PLY exists. Replay reads nested fixture tars and runs the full upload, commit, retry, poll, and download flow. Evidence-backed passes are not unsafe, and make e2e exits 2 when it replays nothing. * Restamp the reference scores on the current harness. Stored facade, electro, and delivery scenes were rescored with the laser present. The inches match the previous table and false_observed_claims is empty, so the geometry bars stay. A7's 1.73/4.11 cloud is not in the store. * Score GT poses on the facade laser at about 2.4 in. Cropped fixture clicks already use the recon camera's K. Meter rays were still landing on a low sheet and on the side wall's extended plane, so that control collapsed to one key distance. Ignore those sheets. Observed p90 is 2.47 in (n 26). Committed reference scores are unchanged. * Read decidability from each profile share. WS-09 writes decidability.<profile>.share. The gate was looking for a single decidability.share, so a real criteria report skipped. One row per profile; facade C at 0.6054 passes the 0.38 bar. * Restamp the oracle re-extract and fail closed on an unreachable API. The refreshed scene_from_recon --oracle row is observed p90 1.31 in (n 26) on harness 55e7f52. Gate inches are unchanged. A short --timeout that never connects exits 2. * Use WS-09's criteria API now that it is on main. The adapter still SKIPs with not_merged:ws-09 when server.criteria is absent, and it now calls the real CriteriaConfig and evaluate_scene. The gate test reads decidability.<profile>.share from that report. * Keep the criteria adapter test inside the eval import boundary. The test resolves CriteriaConfig and evaluate_scene through pipeline_adapters.criteria_engine(), matches scene_invalid by message, and builds the flat wall locally. * Fix replay uploads and verdict downloads against the real API (#84) * Align replay uploads and verdict downloads with the capture API * Keep criteria adapter integration coverage outside the eval package --------- Co-authored-by: hss-cloud-agent <hss-cloud-agent@users.noreply.github.com>
What changed
After #14,
main's docs still overstated two facts and kept a second copy of the repository map. Nothing said how short an experiment write-up should be, and open experiment PRs add about 90,000 words of Markdown between them. This PR sets the minimal format and fixes the rest:experiments/README.mdsets the format for any experiment that merges. The record is the experiment's code and the files it produced. The README stays under about 200 words: the question and pass criteria, the command, the result with its numbers, and what it changed. Generated results go inresults/with the command that made them, and an experiment is deleted once a later one supersedes it.docs/00records the coverage colours as a decision: gray unseen, yellow seen but incomplete, green enough evidence but not approval. The client code no longer needsdocs/05for that. The conventions list now gives the source of each constant.how-it-works.htmldrops its copy of the repository map and points to the README. The README no longer lists the parked web page (web: placement review page #15) or the panel-label PR (experiments: panel label reading stopped at the gate; field-day photo list #17), both being closed. Why
Sam asked for the minimum documentation the project needs, with experiments recorded by their code and outputs rather than long write-ups. Astra (High) and Fable (architecture counsel) reviewed the plan read-only. Both agreed on the closes and on leaving Hunter's files to Hunter. Astra's catches are in: #6's scoring protocol is still cited by #4, and the two overstatements. Fable's catches are in: the experiment format, the coverage-colour decision and the duplicate map.

git diff --checkpasses, anddocs/how-it-works.htmlparses with Python'shtml.parser.main's docs no longer cite docs: add research notes on capture, lane reviews and scoring #6, web: placement review page #15 or experiments: panel label reading stopped at the gate; field-day photo list #17.Risk
docs/05stays until Hunter agrees to delete it. The request is on Research handoff: live survey findings, options and tested prototypes #18.Checklist
