feat(v2): pod chat matches the D215 artboard (TASK-734) - #3148
This brings pod chat to the D215 artboard's #s-chat frame at 1440 and 390, in light and dark (TASK-734, D223). The pod header and the Pod | Threads segment are part of it.
Pod header
It's 64px tall now (52px on a phone), and the title uses the display face at 18/700 (16/700 on a phone). Walk-1 ruling (b) had moved the title to sans 15/600; D215 moves it back.
The "3 members · 4 agents" text is gone. In its place: the board chip, three member faces stacked and overlapped, and "+N" for everyone else. The faces carry both counts as their accessible name.
The panel toggle shows only while the panel is hidden. When the panel is open, it has its own Hide key.
Invite stays (TASK-702). On desktop it's a secondary key; on a phone it's a ghost icon, like the phone frame's other keys.
On a phone the header holds back, title, board chip and panel. The member count moved into the panel.
Panel head
A Pod | Threads segment, then members, manage and Hide panel.
Threads lists the pod's threads that are already loaded, newest activity first. Clicking one opens the pod at that root (#message-<id>), the same path Needs-you items use.
A root outside the loaded history isn't listed until scrolling reaches it, because there's no text to show for it yet.
The phone sheet keeps its close X. Hide is desktop-only; I checked it in a browser at 390 and 1440, because the key also carries .v2-icon-button, which ties a one-class hide rule.
Messages
Faces are 36px at radius 9 with the avatar ring, 12px from the text.
The runtime is plain mono joined to the time ("claude · 1:16 AM"), not a boxed chip.
The side-row slot (delivery cue, no-agent row, Scout's starts), the system action line and the thread block all move to the new text column: 36 + 12 = 48px. The layout test still derives that indent from the grid.
Composer
A floating card at radius 14 with the pop shadow and no border. Focus adds a darker hairline.
The plus is a ghost key, and Send is the filled primary key. Both are 32px.
Where it differs from the frame, on purpose
Phone faces stay 36px; the artboard draws 30. The side-row slot is one indent at every width, and a layout test forbids restating it in the phone block. Following the artboard here would knock the phone side rows off the text column.
The segment says "Threads"; the artboard says "Thread". The view is a list.
Phone keys take touches at 44px. Back, Invite, the panel toggle, plus and Send all draw at the artboard's 32px. A pseudo-element extends each one's hit area to 44px, and the phone header gap goes from 8px to 12px so neighbouring areas meet without overlapping. I measured this in a browser at 390.
Per the Cofounder's standing rule (follow the artboard unless a value fails a measured standard), I checked the new text too. Muted mono measures 4.97:1 on white and 4.51:1 on the light tint, and 5.04–5.77:1 in dark. Secondary text is 7.69:1.
Before and after
There are four side-by-side sheets, each showing artboard, then before (staging main), then after (this branch over dev:live against staging, signed in as the seeded non-admin seat on the D215 sample pod). They're uploaded to the Sharpen pod's Files as task-734-chat-frame-diff-{1440-light,1440-dark,390-light,390-dark}.png.
Tests
v2-layout-invariants now pins the new header, avatar, time, runtime label, composer and Send values, and the 48px indent derivation.
V2Inspector tests cover Threads ordering, a root outside the loaded window, the empty state and Hide panel.
The typing line's faces are pinned at 20px, so they don't inherit the 36px message size.
The header tests now check the faces' accessible name.
The v2 suite passes in a container: 169 suites, 1970 tests. tsc is clean for frontend/.
New strings in en and zh-CN: 话题 matches the existing thread term, and 收起面板 is Hide panel.
Pod header 64px with the display title, board chip and member faces; the
panel toggle shows only while the panel is hidden, and the open panel
carries Pod | Threads and a Hide panel key. Messages take 36px faces at
radius 9 with the runtime as plain mono before the time; the side-row
indent follows to 48px. The composer is a floating card with ghost plus
and a filled Send.

…ASK-734)
Self-review: the Hide key also carries .v2-icon-button, whose later display
rule tied the one-class hide selector, so the phone showed Hide beside the
sheet's close X. The typing line inherited the 36px message face. The
Threads view resets per pod, and its empty copy says what it measured.

The V2 workspace adds a Pod/Threads inspector with thread-root navigation and a Hide panel control. Pod headers display member avatars and counts. Chat, thread, and composer dimensions and styling change, with English and Chinese translations and updated tests.
The inspector adds Pod and Threads views. Thread rows come from loaded messages, sort by latest activity, and navigate to their root message. An empty state appears when no loaded roots are available. The optional Hide panel button calls onClose. Message cards receive anchors used for root navigation. Translations and tests cover these changes.
Pod-header member display frontend/src/v2/components/V2Thread.tsx, frontend/src/v2/v2.css, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2Composer.test.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2ThreadStarter.test.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-copy-budget.test.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts
The pod header displays up to three member avatars and an overflow count. Its accessible label includes member and agent counts. The compact phone header no longer displays the member count. Header and control dimensions are updated.
Transcript and composer layout frontend/src/v2/v2.css, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts
Message columns and thread indents increase. Runtime labels move before message times. The composer and its controls receive updated dimensions and styling. Tests check the revised layout values and phone hit areas.

For migrated messages, replies use the PostgreSQL root ID in thread_root_id, while the root’s legacy ID is its id. Index both id and pgId to find the root. Set the row’s rootId to root.id; the transcript hash lookup uses the message’s id, not its PostgreSQL thread_root_id.

Separate the board and Invite hit areas.
On phones, the compact board target extends 10px beyond its button, and Invite extends 6px. A 12px gap leaves a 4px overlap. Invite has the higher stacking order, so a tap intended for the board can open Invite instead. Both controls can appear together in V2Thread.tsx Lines 1881–1896. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

The phone board chip's hit area reached 10px sideways. With the 12px header gap, the next key's 44px area already reaches 6px toward it, so the two overlapped. It now reaches 6px (inset: -14px -6px), and the test moved with it.
The layout test now pins the 12px phone header gap. It also checks that all five phone keys (back, Invite, panel toggle, plus, Send) carry position: relative; z-index: 1, not only Send.
Added a header test with six members, bots listed first. It checks that people come first in the three faces, that the rest show as +3, and that the label reads "4 members, 1 agent".
Added an inspector test: switch to Threads, rerender with a different pod, and the panel is back on Pod.

Map reply thread_root_id values to the root's PostgreSQL ID.
For a migrated root, formatMessage exposes id as legacy_mongo_id. Replies keep the root's PostgreSQL ID in thread_root_id. threadRowsFrom looks up roots only by id, so byId.get(rootId) misses and the thread row is dropped. Add the PostgreSQL alias to the lookup. Keep the exposed id as the group key so #message-<id> still matches the DOM anchor.

Add a message anchor to delegated card roots.
When a loaded approval, BYO handoff, or gig card is a thread root, the inspector navigates to #message-${thread.rootId}. The thread wrappers do not provide that ID. Expanded replies use their own IDs for data-source-message-id, not the root ID. The delegated branches return before V2MessageRow renders its standard anchor, so landOnMessage finds no target and cannot scroll to or focus the root.

No existing header test asserts that a bot occupies a visible face. The current fixture has four people, so all three visible faces are people. A change that filters bots from faceMembers would still pass. Add a case with fewer than three people and assert the bot’s visible face.

…d cards carry the message anchor
A reconciled root exposes its old Mongo id as id while its replies carry the
Postgres id in thread_root_id, so threadRowsFrom dropped the thread. Roots now
answer to pgId too, and rows keep the exposed id the #message-<id> anchor uses.
Approval, BYO handoff and gig cards returned before the row's anchor, so a
Threads row rooted on one could not land. Each now sits in a message-<id>
wrapper with tabIndex -1, as the decision row does.

Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_015AKgpQmb6BbxDrAtw45bgN
Both findings outside the diff were real. Fixed in the new head.
pgId. I skipped this last round with "the message shape has no pgId field", and that was wrong. formatMessage (backend/models/pg/Message.ts) sends pgId, and for a reconciled row id is the old Mongo id. Replies carry the Postgres id in thread_root_id, and normalizeMessage spreads the raw message, so pgId reaches the client. threadRowsFrom now indexes each root by both ids and keys the row on the exposed id, the one the anchor uses. A new test covers a reconciled root. It fails without the fix.
Card anchors. Approval, BYO handoff and gig cards returned before V2MessageRow rendered its anchor, so a Threads row rooted on one couldn't land. Each card now sits in a message-<id> wrapper with tabIndex={-1}, the same pattern the decision row uses, and a test asserts it for the approval card.
There's a separate, older instance of the same id gap in utils/threadView.ts, which matches roots by m.id only. It's outside this PR, so I'm leaving it for a follow-up rather than widening this one.

The chat frame matches D215 at 1440 and 390, light and dark: header 64/52 with display title, faces with +N, a floating composer with 32px keys, the Pod | Threads panel head, and 36px faces with the 48px side-row indent derived from the grid. Side-by-sides are on TASK-734.
Deviations follow the standing rule and are listed in the PR body: phone faces 36, "Threads", and 44px phone hit areas with a 12px gap (measured in a browser at 390).
Two CodeRabbit rounds are triaged on the PR. Round two turned up two real defects, both fixed here: the reconciled-root pgId lookup in Threads, and the missing message-<id> anchor on approval, BYO handoff and gig cards. Each comes with a test.
Skipped the nitpick asking for anchor tests on the BYO and gig cards. They use the same wrapper line as the approval card, which is tested.

Where it differs from the frame, on purpose
Per the Cofounder's standing rule (follow the artboard unless a value fails a measured standard), I checked the new text too. Muted mono measures 4.97:1 on white and 4.51:1 on the light tint, and 5.04–5.77:1 in dark. Secondary text is 7.69:1.
Before and after
There are four side-by-side sheets, each showing artboard, then before (staging main), then after (this branch over dev:live against staging, signed in as the seeded non-admin seat on the D215 sample pod). They're uploaded to the Sharpen pod's Files as
