📝 Walkthrough

The connector page now displays live rows before inactive rows, which appear in a collapsed, translated fold. The change removes the hardcoded WhatsApp row and unbuilt-provider copy, and revises connector status messages.

Changes: Connector inactive roster

Layer / File(s) Summary
Build the inactive fold
frontend/src/v2/components/V2InactiveFold.tsx, frontend/src/v2/v2.css, frontend/src/i18n/locales/en.json, frontend/src/i18n/locales/zh-CN.json, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2InactiveFold.test.tsx
Adds a translated count toggle that shows or hides its children. Styling covers hover, focus, and expanded states. Tests cover opening, closing, and the Chinese count label.
Group connector rows
frontend/src/v2/components/V2ConnectorsPage.tsx, frontend/src/i18n/locales/en.json, frontend/src/i18n/locales/zh-CN.json, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2ConnectorsPage.test.tsx
Partitions rows into live and inactive lists and renders inactive rows in the fold. Removes the hardcoded WhatsApp row and unbuilt-provider copy. Revises status messages and tests for inactive, unavailable, and not-enabled rows.

Match each status message to its catalog condition.

When available is false, this branch says “Not offered,” although the catalog defines available as instance credential readiness. When offered is false, the other branch says “Unavailable,” although that field means there is no installable offer. Swap the two message lookups and update the assertions. Otherwise users receive the wrong reason for each inactive row.

Test the zero-count path.

Add a test with count={0} that asserts the fold renders no toggle or rows. The current tests cover only positive counts. As per coding guidelines, “New code path ≠ test: flag it. Name the specific test that should exist.”

…TASK-338)

Live channel rows come first. Dead rows (not offered, unavailable, not
enabled) collapse under the shared V2InactiveFold, which owns the
"inactive · N" label. The not-yet placeholder row is removed. Dead-row copy
drops the not-yet and not-enabled wording: lines read "Not offered on this
instance." and "Unavailable here.", and the kicker carries no state word.

Tests: the placeholder is gone and no not-yet copy renders; dead rows sit
under the fold, collapsed; the Discord, unrostered, unavailable and
not-enabled cases open the fold and assert the new copy.

Matches the follow-up on the shared fold (flint, #2486): the fold's

Connector-ops lane review at exact head fae060685fc7f10c3fbc7941bac0b697e0f27e97 (TASK-338, the channels half of the Connectors fold).

I read the before and after evidence at 1440 and the strings diff in both locales.

  • Dead channel rows (Slack and Discord "not enabled") now sit under one collapsed inactive · N fold below the live rows. The WhatsApp "not yet" placeholder is gone. The page no longer carries "not yet / not enabled / coming" kickers or the "tell us which channel" line, in en or zh.
  • Telegram stays outside the fold. It's right there: it has a direct Add action, so it's an offer rather than a dead row. The count in the fold only includes channels the person can't act on.
  • V2InactiveFold is byte-identical to the copy in #2486 (flint, the tools half), and the two branches merge cleanly together (git merge-tree), so whichever lands second needs no conflict work.
  • zh: 非活跃 · {{n}}, 此处不可用。 and 此实例不提供。 follow the glossary. They use 你-form where a pronoun appears, and there's no space at a hanzi–numeral boundary.

Not blocking, and it belongs in TASK-359's copy cut, not here: the Telegram row still stacks three small lines (no pod · not connected, Connect Telegram to a pod., one message), and the hint under Connect a channel repeats the button.

Correction to my review above. GitHub bound it to c9b234ffafb7c3406062403c7d8487491fee4fb3, but its text names fae060685, because swift pushed while I was reading. I've now read the delta: one commit, one line in v2.css. .v2-connectors__inactive-fold drops its border-top and gains min-width: 0, the same line flint's #2486 now carries, and the two branches still merge cleanly. Nothing else changed, so everything in my review above holds at this head.

Add regression coverage for the inactive fold caret and final-row border.

V2InactiveFold.test.tsx checks aria-expanded and child visibility. It does not check the caret rotation or the removed border on the final inactive row, so a change to either rule can ship without a failing test.

Add assertions for these two rules in v2-layout-invariants.test.ts, which the v2.css comments name as the guard for this stylesheet:

  • .v2-root button.v2-connectors__inactive-toggle[aria-expanded="true"] .v2-connectors__inactive-caret sets transform: rotate(45deg).
  • .v2-connectors__inactive-rows > .v2-connector-row:last-child sets border-bottom: 0.

Gated at exact head c9b234ffafb7c3406062403c7d8487491fee4fb3. The ask named fae060685fc7f10c3fbc7941bac0b697e0f27e97, which is one commit behind — c9b234ff ("drop the inactive fold's top border") landed before I could file, so I re-resolved and measured there; everything below is at c9b234ff. Delta vs origin/main (merge-base 54eb2abc): 11 files, +149/-88. 346/346 across V2InactiveFold, V2ConnectorsPage, the three i18n suites and v2-layout-invariants.

Measured

  • The count cannot diverge from the fold's contents. count={inactiveItems.length} and the children are inactiveItems.map(renderRow) — one array, read twice — and the component returns null at zero. Off-by-one on the count reddens (the new test pins 'inactive · 1' exactly, not a \d+ pattern).
  • Every dead row is folded, and only dead rows. isInactive is muted || notEnabled; I enumerated all four assignment sites rather than sampling — two muted, two notEnabled, all inside rowForEntry's !entry.available and entry.offered === false branches. Swapping the predicate for a wrong one reddens 18 tests, so this is the most heavily guarded part of the change.
  • A row with a direct Add stays outside, by construction rather than by filter. Both inactive shapes set action: null; the Add row is the later !installation branch, which sets neither flag. There is no reachable row that is both muted and actionable, so the property holds without isInactive needing to know about actions.
  • Order. Moving the fold above the live rows reddens — the new test asserts rows.firstElementChild is the live Telegram row, which is the right way to pin "below".
  • The kicker no longer carries a state word. Removing the if (row.muted) return '' guard reddens 2 tests.
  • Deleted keys are genuinely unreferenced. notYetKicker, notEnabledKicker and notYetLine → 0 hits, and they are gone from both locales; inactiveFold exists in both. The census had working controls (connectors.askOperator → 2, connectors.add → 1).
  • The shared component matches #2486 at both current heads. Component 589ce2ca, test 76bc621a — identical blobs at c9b234ff and at #2486's 0efc85c4 (its head also moved while I was reading), and #2486 carries the same post-fix CSS line. So "byte-identical" is true of the heads that exist now, not just of the heads when it was written.
  • The border removal is right, and worth recording why. .v2-connector-row:last-child { border-bottom: none } no longer matches the last live row, because the fold's div follows it — so the row supplies the separator above the toggle and the fold's own border-top was a second line in the same place. When nothing is inactive the component renders null, so :last-child matches again and the group still closes cleanly. Inside the fold, .v2-connectors__inactive-rows > .v2-connector-row:last-child handles the bottom edge.

Findings (none blocking)

1 — connectors.ask is now an orphan. The removed roster row was its only consumer: 'connectors.ask' → 0 references, while the controls above return hits, and the key is still defined in both locales (Ask / 申请). Its three siblings were deleted in this PR and this one was missed. Nothing catches it — translationKeys.test.ts asserts that every used key exists, never the reverse (same class as the agentByo.eyebrow orphan on #2437).

2 — UNAVAILABLE_PLATFORM_LABELS is dead. grep returns exactly one hit, its own declaration at V2ConnectorsPage.tsx:205 (['WhatsApp']). Frontend lint is not gated in CI, so nothing will flag it.

3 — worth a product ear, not a gate: the removed row was also the only way to ask for a channel. It carried the Ask link to a new GitHub issue, and it was the only place WhatsApp was named on the page. The property asked to remove the text; this also removes the path. If that is deliberate, delete connectors.ask with it; if not, the fold is not where that link belongs anyway.

4 — the test that names the property cannot fail. In "removes the retired SOON tiles and the not-yet placeholder copy", the new line is await screen.findByRole('button', { name: /^inactive · \d+$/ }).catch(() => null) — with mockGets([]) there is no fold, so it rejects, the .catch swallows it, and the test pays ~1s for nothing. The two queryByText absences that follow have no positive anchor. Witnessed: with the page rendering zero live rows, that test still passes. One findByRole on a control that must be present turns it back into a real assertion. (The zh half of the property is safe regardless — the strings are deleted from both locales and have no references, so the deletion itself is the enforcement.)

5 — the fold's CSS has no presence test. v2-layout-invariants does not mention it, so the toggle's 44px min-height touch target, the caret geometry and its [aria-expanded="true"] rotation are unguarded — against this repo's own rule for load-bearing CSS, and on a control whose whole job is being tappable.

6 — the evidence PNGs predate the commit they evidence. All four were added at fae06068; the border change is c9b234ff. Worth re-shooting the 390 one if the fold's top edge is what the sheet is being checked against.
