192-193: 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAssert the placed bot’s owner.
The placement route already requires
botMetadata.instanceIdto match the requested instance, so a wrong instance causes the request to fail. However, ownership checks useAgentInstallation.installedByand do not validatebotMetadata.ownerUserId. A bot with the wrong durable owner can therefore satisfy this test.🐛 Suggested fix
- const bot = await User.findOne({ isBot: true, 'botMetadata.agentName': 'my-machine-agent' }).lean(); + const bot = await User.findOne({ + isBot: true, + 'botMetadata.agentName': 'my-machine-agent', + 'botMetadata.instanceId': 'default', + }).lean(); expect(bot.botMetadata.requestedMachineId).toBe(machine.machineId); + expect(bot.botMetadata.ownerUserId).toBe(podMember._id.toString());This remains a low-priority test coverage improvement, not a production failure.

Classify wrapper installs as BYO in deriveAgentState.
Hostless self-serve wrapper installs derive unknown instead of token-based liveness. The work sweep does not use a separate heartbeat signal: it defers only for LIVE_STATES, so an unknown holder can have its lapsed task rescued while the wrapper is polling.

#2516 TASK-388 @ a4fdc4c — CODE GATE: PASS
The self-serve runtime allowlist now admits wrapper, so a new “Run on my computer” name creates an ephemeral private registry row before identity creation. The existing pod-access, reserved-name, owner, username-collision, and unsupported-runtime guards still apply; the machine form sends explicit instanceId: default, including the persona path. The service test walks install into the machine placement request and asserts the durable binding request; separate cases cover reserved and foreign-owned names. Exact-head E2E, service, frontend, backend lint/typecheck, CodeRabbit and security checks are green.
Credit: Flint supplied the service and UI regressions for the failed first-install flow.

TASK-388
A new “Run on my computer” agent failed at
/api/registry/installwith 404 because the self-serve ephemeral registry branch admitted webhook and hosted runtimes, while the page sendswrapper.wrapperthrough the existing self-serve runtime allowlist, preserving the same reserved-name, ephemeral-owner, identity-collision, and pod membership gates. Hosted metering remains hosted-only.instanceId: 'default'for machine installs. A persona display name otherwise derived a different ID from the subsequent placement request.Verification: the new wrapper service tests failed with the original 404 before the fix; 14 service tests and 15 machine UI tests pass after. Backend and frontend TypeScript checks, backend TS lint, and
git diff --checkpass.
