and missing-fields at the top of the grep classification spec, before the
require statements, so the test assertion helpers and partial vim.g.fff table
pass the language-server check.

classify_definitions = truenow uses one grep call and stably groups definitions before usages within the returned page, as in #905. The separate definition and usage scans are removed; explicitdefinition_onlymode still filters declarations before pagination.Local native Neovim benchmark:
fnacross 2,000 Rust files with two matching lines each, returning 50 results. Medians from 100 warm, interleaved runs using the same release library; the before case uses the merged Lua search code.Page boundaries and file cursors match classification-off. A later page can contain more definitions after an earlier page's usages. Files with both match types retain a header in each section, and the divider appears only on mixed pages.

Core fix found by CI
Important
A replaced picker could install its bigram index into the picker that replaced it. After
:cd(orcontent_search { cwd = ... }) while the old root was still building its index, grep in the new root used the old index and searched 0 files until the next rescan. The post-scan install now checks the scan's cancellation flag and base path, like the watcher install below it.scan::tests::replaced_picker_does_not_install_its_bigram_index_into_the_successorreplays the interleaving and fails without the guard. The bug exists on
main. On CI it surfaced as the intermittentprogrammatic_search_specubuntu failure (filtered_file_count = 0for the new root); the spec now prints the index state if it fails again.Stack merge order: #924, #925, #927, #928, #930, #931, #932, #933, #934.
