Fix the identifier boundary.
\bValue\b matches inside the valid JavaScript identifier $Value. The exact-definition stage can classify that partial match as a definition and skip the partial-name stage. Use an identifier-aware boundary or compare the matched declaration name in both implementations.

Implement exact-name selection before pagination. Sorting one page does not create the stated exact-name stage. A partial definition remains in the response when an exact definition exists, and a partial definition on an earlier page can precede an exact definition on a later page.

Select exact declarations before pagination. Both tools sort only results already present on a page. A partial declaration on the first page therefore precedes an exact declaration on a later page.

Rank exact declarations within each file.
The sort moves files, not matches. If one file contains ArgValueCompletion before Value, the partial declaration still appears first. Order matches within each file by exact-name status while retaining file grouping.

Include $ in JavaScript identifier boundaries.
For a Value match in a declaration named Value$, isWordByte treats the following $ as a boundary. The helper therefore ranks that partial name as exact. Include $ in the boundary check, using the identifier rules applicable to the matched source. Based on learnings, $ is an identifier character that \w boundaries miss.

MCP and Pi move files whose declaration names the query word to the top of each grep page. In MCP, that declaration also leads its file, so it gets the expanded body. The order changes only inside a page, so the search does the same work and returns the same matches.
Position of the exact declaration among the matches on page 1 (0 is first), #932 vs this PR,
definitions_only:ValuePipelineDataPtySurfaceWorktreeAVFrameenum AVFrameSideDataTypegets the bodytypedef struct AVFrame {gets the bodyNote
MCP confirms the declared name with the definition classifier, so
function mergeSession(..., session: Session)does not promote its file forSession. Pi has no access to the classifier, so it approximates: the whole word must come before any(,<,=or:. The order applies in every MCP output mode, including explicit context andfiles_with_matches.Measured on 25 queries: no match line lost, none duplicated, and later pages unchanged, because the cursor is fixed before the reorder. Interleaved latency medians are equal within 1 ms.
An earlier version of this PR added an exact-name regex stage. On Chromium it made
definitions_only17–46x slower (CommandLine32 → 1494 ms) and hid struct bodies behind typedef aliases, so it was removed.Stacked on #932.
Stack merge order: #924, #925, #927, #928, #930, #931, #932, #933, #934.
