- ECCpy was developed for Anaconda distribution 2020.7 and python 3.8, and therefore requires older versions of packages such as pandas and matplotlib
- open the command prompt
- navigate to the "eccpy" folder where the program is installed. This should contain a file "setup.py".
- create a new python environment for eccpy that uses python 3.8, e.g.
conda create -n eccpy python=3.8 - activate environment
conda activate eccpy - install exact packages defined in requirements.txt
pip install -r requirements.txt - install ECCpy
pip install --editable .(don't forget the dot!) - run the automatic tests
python -m pytest --disable-warnings. The tests should pass, with some dependency warnings. - if successful, in python, you should now be able to use the
import eccpystatement from python, when the eccpy environment is activated
