Figure axes missing (in pdf files)

  • some pdf-viewers have problems reading the pdfs created by ECCpy in python.
  • try another PDF viewer.

Int is not subscriptable

  • this error occurs when you use numbers as sample names
  • add an underscore to your sample names to convert them to text (e.g. 32 -> 32_)

ValueError: bottom cannot be >= top

  • this is caused by extremely long sample names
  • it only affects the automated figure creation
  • shorten sample names by adding a short name to the "samplenames" tab of the settings excel file.

RuntimeWarning: overflow encountered in power

  • this is only a warning. It should not have any effect.
  • It's recommended to check check the fitting for this sample.

ECCpy says the data is good, but the fit is terrible

  • Very rarely, the combination of the Hill equation and python's least-squares fitting algorithm fails completely.
  • This can occur where there is a large gap between the secondlast and last dose
  • Try deleting the offending first or last datapoints from your input data (they are invariably outside the range of the LD50)
