docs(site): match the user guides to prod after a fresh-reader re-walk - #2931
A fresh-reader re-walk of the user guides on prod (image 8e0b7ae) found steps and images that no longer match what a reader sees. These are first-touch pages for launch-day readers, so they go in now as docs only.
Changes
Images:start-agent-desktop/mobile and connectors-desktop/mobile were re-shot on prod as a test account, with sample names only (maya-claude, pod docs walk 10-27). The old frames showed an internal agent and pod name, and connector tiles that are now inactive. The BYO frames get re-shot again once the D150 helper-text cut ships.
Claude Code / Codex guides, step 2: prod asks only for the name and pod before Get my connect command. The system (Setting up on) and the Codex switch (I use Codex instead) come after it, so step 2 now says that. The source is V2AgentBYO.tsx: listen.osLabel and listen.switchToCodex render on the command page. The link text says Bring your own agent, which is the page's title.
Pods page: "room" becomes "pod" or "DM" on 13 lines. Only the type literal agent-room keeps the word.
Task board: status Claimed becomes In Progress, the board's column name (board.col.inProgress).
BYO index: DeepSeek Harness stays (prod walk 10-27, PASS). It now links docs/cli/dsh.md#confined-mode-macos, because confined mode doesn't complete turns yet.
Checks
docsSiteFacts.test.js and runtimeClaims.test.ts pin none of the changed sentences. The BYO "A listener is needed… @mentions" line is unchanged.
The image frames were read back before commit: no tokens, emails or real users.
- BYO and Connectors images re-shot on prod with sample names. The old
frames showed internal agent and pod names and connector tiles that
are now inactive.
- Claude Code and Codex guides: the runtime and system choice now comes
after "Get my connect command", so step 2 says so. The page is titled
"Bring your own agent".
- Pods page says pod, not room. The board doc names the In Progress
column.
- Introduction names Codex on a Mac, and the Linux/Windows line states
only what is walked (MCP for the pod's tools).
- BYO index links dsh's confined-mode caveat.

Walkthrough
The documentation updates agent setup instructions, pod and task terminology, platform connection guidance, and when the “On my computer” option appears.
Setup instructions defer agent and platform selection to the command page. The overview adds a note that DeepSeek Harness can run confined on CLI 0.1.196 and later.
Pod and task terminology docs-site/concepts/pods.mdx, docs-site/concepts/task-board.mdx
The pod guide uses pod and DM terminology. The task board renames Claimed to In Progress and describes work by an agent or person.
Two documentation claims remain potentially misleading for users, but the impact is limited to setup and workflow guidance.

I checked each changed claim against the source at this head.
Every UI string the guides now name is in en.json: page title Bring your own agent, Use my own agent, Get my connect command, Setting up on:, I use Codex instead, and the board column In Progress.
Step 2 now matches the flow. The OS picker and the Codex switch render on the command page (listen.osLabel, listen.switchToCodex), not before it.
The intro's "On my computer (it appears once you've added a computer)" is true. The card is gated on machines.length > 0 in V2AgentBYO.tsx.
The dsh link resolves. docs/cli/dsh.md has ## Confined mode (macOS), which says confined mode doesn't complete turns yet, and that matches "runs unconfined for now".
The task-board API literals (pending, claimed, the claimed enum) are unchanged. That's correct, since they're the wire values.
I read all four images. They show only sample names (maya-claude, pod docs walk 10-27), the connector page shows the current active and inactive split, and there are no tokens, emails or internal pod names.

Do not equate claiming with work already started.
The claim route treats claimed as a renewable lease, and the documented lifecycle separates commonly_claim_task from doing the work. A claimed task can therefore be reserved before work begins. Replace “and being worked on” with wording that does not promise active work.

Re-stamp at 99bb090. This supersedes my PASS at the same head.
One line becomes false tonight. docs-site/bring-your-own/index.mdx adds "DeepSeek Harness runs unconfined for now: see confined mode…". #2939 (merging tonight) documents confined mode working on CLI 0.1.196, backed by SRE's live PASS on 10-28: a reply in ~35 s, with off-allowlist egress refused. Once both land, the public docs tell readers to run unconfined when they don't need to. Fix: "DeepSeek Harness can run confined on CLI 0.1.196 and later: see confined mode". Dropping the sentence also works. Everything else from my earlier PASS stands.
The one changed line now reads "can run confined on CLI 0.1.196 and later" and links dsh.md#confined-mode-macos. That heading is on main and stays at the #2939 head. It matches SRE's live 0.1.196 walk, and 0.1.196 is npm latest. Nothing else changed since my PASS at 99bb090.

Align the confined-mode version claim with the linked guide.
index.mdx claims that confined mode works on CLI 0.1.196 and later. The linked guide still installs CLI 0.1.122, records walks only on 0.1.117 and 0.1.122, and states that confined mode does not complete turns on CLI 0.1.191. The repository provides no supporting evidence for a 0.1.196 fix or later-version compatibility. Update the sentence and guide together, or remove the claim until it is documented and walked.

Update the confined-mode version claim in the DeepSeek Harness sentence to match
compatibility evidence documented and walked in the linked guide; unless the
guide establishes a verified fix and later-version compatibility, remove the
unsupported 0.1.196-and-later assertion.

Re-gate at e90935f (since my PASS at df28864: one paragraph in introduction.mdx changed).
The intro now says "Claude Code on Linux answers @mentions in invite-only pods, with bubblewrap, and on Windows it can connect over MCP". That matches the scope passed in #2946 and #2820. It leaves out the CLI 0.1.196 floor, which is fine for an intro, because the bring-your-own page carries it. The CodeRabbit thread is answered. Nothing else changed.
This verdict covers this head only. The planned rebase onto #2936 needs a re-stamp at the new head.
Merging main took main's whole intro file when resolving the daemon-paragraph
conflict. This puts back the branch's paragraph and keeps #2936's cut.

git diff origin/main...f508d29f touches 10 paths: the same 9 I reviewed plus introduction.mdx. For each of the 9, the hunk content matches base...e90935f exactly, and the 4 PNGs are the same blobs.
introduction.mdx against main is one hunk: the "Everyone brings their own agent" paragraph (Claude Code or Codex from a Mac; Linux @mentions scoped to invite-only pods with bubblewrap; Windows over MCP). It is the same text I passed at e90935f.
#2936's cut holds. The daemon / "On my computer" paragraph is absent from both main and the branch, so the merge took the cut, and the branch's "(it appears once you've added a computer)" rewording is gone with it.
#2946: the PR doesn't touch README.md, so nothing from it can be lost.
