What

Adds hostedMcp.hiddenEntryUserAllowlist to values-dev.yaml so the designated walk user lily-shen (6a47891ee025ce2e0ca1d30b) can see the hidden Sentry hosted-MCP connector for the connector walk, while Sentry stays hidden for every other account. hiddenEntries is unchanged.

Why

#2649 wires HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRY_USER_ALLOWLIST from values.hostedMcp.hiddenEntryUserAllowlist, but neither values.yaml (base {}) nor values-dev.yaml set it. Without this the next deploy renders the allowlist empty, and isHostedMcpEntryHidden('sentry', …) (backend/integrations/hostedMcp/visibility.ts L43–44) returns true for every user — so the walk user could not see Sentry either.

Tier

Tier 2 (hosted-MCP visibility config). Two gates; CTO presses before the 00:30Z deploy.

Verification

  • js-yaml parse: hiddenEntryUserAllowlist = {"sentry":["6a47891ee025ce2e0ca1d30b"]}; hiddenEntries intact incl. sentry.
  • Template {{ .Values.hostedMcp.hiddenEntryUserAllowlist | default dict | toJson | quote }} renders HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRY_USER_ALLOWLIST={"sentry":["6a47891ee025ce2e0ca1d30b"]}.
  • Post-cutover check (b): confirm lily-shen sees Sentry and a second account does not.

#2649 wires HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRY_USER_ALLOWLIST from
values.hostedMcp.hiddenEntryUserAllowlist, but neither values.yaml (base {})
nor values-dev.yaml set it. Without this the next deploy renders the allowlist
empty and isHostedMcpEntryHidden('sentry', ...) returns true for every user, so
the designated walk user could not see the hidden Sentry connector.

Sets the allowlist so lily-shen (6a47891ee025ce2e0ca1d30b) can walk the hidden
Sentry hosted-MCP entry while it stays hidden for every other account.
hiddenEntries is unchanged.

The allowlist wiring is present, but a focused render test is needed to prevent future chart edits from silently hiding Sentry from the designated walk user.

SECURITY gate for #2655 (values: per-user walk allowlist for hidden hosted-MCP entries, TASK-485 / #2649) at c376e59. Requested by Lily (pod message 84019; Rivet holds the claim and declined it). Live head check: headRefOid = c376e59, OPEN, not draft, base main. Diff: one file, k8s/helm/commonly/values-dev.yaml, +6 lines. Read at that head: the values diff, the hostedMcp block in values-dev.yaml, and the rendering in k8s/helm/commonly/templates/core/backend-deployment.yaml:69-72 and templates/ops/ops-runner-deployment.yaml:49-52. Not run: helm template, the test suites, or any live request.

Verdict: PASS. The change does what Lily asked and nothing else.

Checked against the three points in the request.

  1. Rendering. Both deployments render HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRY_USER_ALLOWLIST as {{ .Values.hostedMcp.hiddenEntryUserAllowlist | default dict | toJson | quote }}, the same toJson-and-quote pattern as HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRIES. The map renders as JSON in both places. The default dict guard means an absent key renders {}, which the #2649 parser treats as no exceptions, so an unset value fails closed.
  2. hiddenEntries untouched. The diff adds lines after the supabase entry and changes nothing above it. sentry remains in hiddenEntries, so the exception has something to except from.
  3. Only the listed user sees Sentry. The allowlist has one key, sentry, with one value, 6a47891ee025ce2e0ca1d30b. That is the User _id of lily-shen (it is the userId on her message 84009, and it is 24 hex). Every other account gets the same hidden result as before, which the #2649 tests pin: exceptions are exact user-and-entry pairs and malformed values void all exceptions. No other entry is exposed.

Notes, not blocking.

  • The allowlist ID is an operator-local Mongo _id, committed to a values file. Sam's values-dev notes say real IDs are operator-local values, so Lily or the press should confirm this one is an accepted dev value before merge. It is a user ID, not a credential, and it grants only the Sentry offer.
  • The same allowlist reaches ops-runner as well as the backend. That is intended if ops-runner serves the same catalogue; I did not verify that path here.

Not covered: helm template output (I read the templates, I did not render them), the test suites, CI, and the live walk.

Sable code gate for #2655 at c376e59: PASS. This is the Sable half of the Tier 2 gate; Rhea gates security separately.

Scope: k8s/helm/commonly/values-dev.yaml, 6 inserted lines. hiddenEntries is untouched. The new hiddenEntryUserAllowlist block maps sentry to the single user id 6a47891ee025ce2e0ca1d30b, which matches lily-shen's _id in the pod's message records.

What I checked:

  • The template renders the value as JSON. helm template on the PR head with values-dev.yaml puts HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRY_USER_ALLOWLIST in both backend-deployment.yaml and ops-runner-deployment.yaml as {"sentry":["6a47891ee025ce2e0ca1d30b"]}. HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRIES renders the six entries unchanged.
  • Visibility with the rendered env, through isHostedMcpEntryHidden on the merged #2649 code: lily's id sees Sentry; any other canonical id gets it hidden; an undefined, null or non-canonical id stays hidden. Notion, GitLab, Supabase, Atlassian and Google Calendar stay hidden for lily, since they are not in the allowlist.
  • The existing hostedMcpVisibility.test.js suite passes alongside (21/21 with a temporary render test, which I removed).

The allowlist key sentry is in hiddenEntries, which the parser requires, so the map is not dropped as malformed.

Not checked here: the 00:30Z deploy and the walk itself. Both are outside the code gate.

Add a semantic Helm regression test for the hosted-MCP mapping.

The existing chart-lint job renders values-dev.yaml, but it only validates the manifests with kubeconform. It does not assert the rendered environment values. Add a test that asserts HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRY_USER_ALLOWLIST contains the Sentry user ID and HOSTED_MCP_HIDDEN_ENTRIES contains sentry. These assertions will fail if the allowlist is removed or moved outside hostedMcp.
