Zenkai Opcode WalkToPosition

WalkToPosition

Walks an entity toward a specific position (ground pathing) — distinct from FlyToPosition's direct/airborne move.

Syntax

WalkToPosition(charIdx, y, x)

Parameters

charIdx
Integer
Popped last — the entity to command, resolved via Entity_GetByCharIndex.

y
Integer
Popped second.

x
Integer
Popped first.

Remarks

CONFIRMED 2026-09. Resolves an entity by character index, builds a move-command via sub_8026620(0, {x,y}), and enqueues it. Walks the entity toward the target position using ground pathing, as opposed to opcode 54 (FlyToPosition), which moves the entity directly/airborne. Previously logged low-confidence as sub_8009D4A; renamed once its behavior was confirmed.

Examples

Minimal illustrative encoding (synthetic, not from a real ROM script):

0x00, N // PushByte(charIdx)
0x00, N // PushByte(y)
0x00, N // PushByte(x)
0x02, 0x35        // Step -> BytecodeVM_WalkToPosition
