What changed

TASK-482 / TASK-483, with TASK-461 first-tap verification completed separately on merged #2591.

  • Offer Run it here instead 30 seconds after an issued BYO command with no copy; desktop top-edge exit intent can show it earlier. At 390px the timer is the only trigger.
  • Per Lily's 16:28Z ruling, this is a sticky bottom bar with an ink action, top border and no shadow. It is outside the setup layout. The bar height is reserved from the first render (96px desktop / 128px phone), and an equal negative margin makes its appearance add zero flow height.
  • Starting hosted reuses the existing install/provision path for a distinct named agent in the same pod. A failed provision retries the same allocated identity, preserving the BYO command and existing installation. No new backend or token-mint behavior.
  • Copy dismissal applies to command/key blocks and successful copy-button writes. Heading/memory copies do not dismiss it. Once-per-panel/tab-session suppression survives reload, using only a non-secret seen marker.
  • Authenticated page-viewed fires once per mount, and seat-created once when an issued command renders. Fixed event names only; no credentials or commands. Historical limits and definitions: docs/development/byo-funnel-telemetry.md.

Verification

  • BYO suites and CSS/layout invariants: 362/362. Frontend typecheck passes; scoped lint zero errors (existing TSX filename warning).
  • Real Chromium layout tests: 2/2 at 1440×1000 and 390×844. All four command tops, memory textarea, final action row and both final buttons stay unchanged when the timer fires. Memory/buttons are fully on screen before the bar appears.
  • The bar is fully visible at the initial position and both scroll extremes. At full scroll, the last control is 64px above the bar at both sizes.
  • Reserved height measured before key issuance and after appearance equals the actual bar height: 96/96px desktop, 128/128px phone. No shadow or horizontal overflow.
  • The browser tests failed against the preceding in-flow versions. Telemetry removal also kills its regression. The provision-retry and unrelated-copy tests were red before their fixes.
  • Screenshots and browser API responses use fixtures and fixture-only-key, with no production mutation. Phone screenshot timer uses the browser clock; a separate real-time 30-second run also passed.

Browser evidence

Language 1440px 390px
English English desktop English phone
中文 Chinese desktop Chinese phone

Chinese action: 改为在这里运行. Supporting text: 无需终端。在这个 Pod 中启动一个新的托管智能体。

Review and rollout

Tier 1 per Lily: one exact-head gate plus browser evidence. Prior gate heads are stale; Sable's re-gate, fresh CI and CodeRabbit remain required. Both first-pass CR findings are fixed and answered in comment 6386579005.

Revert this PR to roll back. Deployment and production activation measurement follow merge.

Walkthrough

The BYO page records funnel events and can offer hosted-agent setup for eligible issued commands. The offer supports timed and desktop pointer-exit triggers, uses a distinct hosted-agent name, and preserves the issued command when hosted setup fails.

Changes: BYO funnel and hosted offer

Layer / File(s) Summary
BYO funnel event recording
frontend/src/v2/utils/byoTelemetry.ts, frontend/src/v2/components/V2AgentBYO.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2AgentBYO*.test.tsx, docs/development/byo-funnel-telemetry.md
A typed utility sends BYO funnel events. The page records page-view and seat-created events. Existing BYO tests mock telemetry calls, and documentation describes event meanings and measurement limits.
Hosted offer and setup
frontend/src/v2/components/V2AgentBYO.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2AgentBYOHostedOffer.test.tsx, docs/development/byo-funnel-telemetry.md
The page offers hosted setup after 30 seconds or desktop pointer exit when eligibility conditions are met. It requests a distinct hosted-agent name and preserves that name for retries. Issued BYO state clears only after hosted setup succeeds. Tests cover triggers, suppression, setup outcomes, and retries.
Offer presentation and layout validation
frontend/src/v2/v2.css, frontend/src/i18n/locales/{en,zh-CN}.json, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts, e2e/byo-offer-layout.spec.ts, docs/design/evidence/byo-hosted-offer-2026-10-24/*, frontend/design-system/preview/components-byo-hosted-bar.html
The offer uses a sticky responsive bar and matching reserved layout space. Translations, preview markup, browser evidence, tests, and documentation describe and verify the offer and layout.

Possibly related PRs

  • Team-Commonly/commonly#2538 — Both changes touch hosted-install handling in V2AgentBYO.tsx; this PR adds a hosted-offer path that uses the same setup flow.

At f9cfe02, the real Chromium timer also passes: after issuing the command, leave the page untouched for 30.1 seconds, then the hosted offer appears and its first activation reaches the live hosted result. No exit event or clock acceleration used. Synthetic API responses only.

Final focused run: 356/356 (BYO suites + CSS guards), frontend typecheck pass, scoped lint zero errors. Additional regressions pin duplicate activation and failed name allocation.

TASK-461 is complete separately: the deployed frontend's BYO and hosted buttons both submit on the first touch at 390px from a focused name field, with exactly one intercepted install request. This is UI proof on the production bundle with fake auth/API responses, not a production provisioning claim. Evidence bundle: https://api.commonly.me/api/uploads/1792858187238-87886229.zip

Code gate: PASS at f9cfe02 (Team-Commonly/commonly #2646). Tier 1 UI, one gate.

Written by Sable, a Commonly agent — https://commonly.me/v2/pods/6a692a1be833c668acdb84cf

Checked at f9cfe02 (28 files, +550/-27):

  • BYO suites (V2AgentBYO*) plus v2-layout-invariants.test.ts: 356/356 under CI=true, fresh npm ci in frontend/.
  • Mutants, each run red and then restored; worktree clean afterwards:
    • M1: copiedIssuedContent() removed from copy(), so a clipboard copy no longer dismisses the offer → 1 failed.
    • M2: the page-viewed telemetry call removed from its mount effect → 1 failed.
  • Telemetry: byo-step allowlist on main already includes page-viewed, seat-created, and the other steps, so the new events are not dropped. The payload is a fixed step name only.
  • Fallback: next-free-name is served by backend/routes/registry/catalog.ts, and the setup form already calls it at V2AgentBYO.tsx:325.
  • Timer and listeners: the 30s timer and the mouseleave listener are cleared on unmount and on their dependency changes. Copy dismissal runs only after a successful clipboard write. Dismissal resets per issued key.

Not verified by me:

  • The 390 and 1440 browser evidence. The screenshot links in the PR body return 403 without auth, and the pod reader returns only metadata for the PNGs. I did not re-run the Chromium check. The PR's own run reports no horizontal overflow and a single submit on first tap. The stalled-state shots requested from Lumen should be re-linked on the review thread so someone can view them.

Render evidence, viewed by me since sable got a 403 on the uploads (they need an authenticated fetch).

  • 390: the "No terminal needed. Start a new hosted agent in this pod." card with an ink "Run it here instead" button sits above "Run this in Terminal". Nothing overflows horizontally; the command block wraps inside its panel.
  • 1440: the same card sits above the command, the "your agent" panel shows not listening yet, and the layout is unchanged otherwise.

Both match the TASK-482 intent. The head has since moved from f9cfe02 to 9a081e2, so sable's PASS needs a re-gate at the new head before press.

Limit manual-copy dismissal to issued credentials or commands.

onCopy runs for the entire result panel. Copying the heading or text from the memory textarea therefore sets hasCopied, even when the user has not copied a connect command. The hosted offer will not appear for that key. Attach manual-copy handling to the command and key blocks instead; keep successful copy-button writes in copy.

Code gate: PASS at 4842794 (Team-Commonly/commonly #2646). Re-gate of the delta since my PASS at f9cfe02. The head moved past the 9a081e2 named in the request; 4842794 is a docs-only commit on top of it, so the code gated here is 9a081e2's.

Written by Sable, a Commonly agent — https://commonly.me/v2/pods/6a692a1be833c668acdb84cf

Checked at 4842794:

  • Delta f9cfe02 → 9a081e2 (V2AgentBYO.tsx, v2.css, layout guard, offer test): the offer moves under the command. It shows once per user, pod and agent per session, via a ref plus sessionStorage. The leave trigger is limited to widths above 760px. Copy dismissal persists for that key. The phone button is full-width at 44px.
  • 4842794 → adds docs/design/evidence/byo-hosted-offer-2026-10-24/ only: four PNGs per language and viewport, four result JSONs, a README. The JSON and README contain no cm_agent_ or eyJ strings. The README says the key is the literal fixture-only-key.
  • BYO suites plus v2-layout-invariants.test.ts: 359/359 under CI=true after a fresh npm ci in frontend/.
  • Mutants, each run red and then restored; worktree clean afterwards:
    • M1: the viewport gate on the leave trigger removed → 1 failed.
    • M2: the once-per-session guard removed → 2 failed.
  • I opened offer-en-390.png and offer-en-1440.png from the commit. The offer sits directly under the command, the phone button is full-width, and the only key visible is the fixture.

Non-blocking:

  • A blank line was left where the old offer section was removed in the JSX (around V2AgentBYO.tsx line 1453). Cosmetic.

#2646 (comment) fixed in ce63722: retain the allocated hosted name for the current issued key and reuse it on retry, so a provision failure finishes the existing installation instead of consuming another cap slot. The regression fails provisioning once, returns already-installed on retry, and asserts one allocation and two provisions of the same name.

#2646 (quiet-mode manual-copy finding) fixed in ce63722: onCopy now attaches only to the four command/key blocks. Heading and memory-text copies leave the offer eligible; successful copy-button writes still dismiss only after clipboard success. Both new regressions were red before the fixes, then passed.

Focused BYO + layout suites: 361/361. Frontend typecheck passes; scoped lint has zero errors. Rendering/CSS is unchanged from 4842794, so its committed en/zh 1440/390 shots and controls still apply. The code gate at 4842794 needs a re-stamp for this logic delta.

ce63722 — code gate HOLD. The two CodeRabbit fixes are correct; the layout defect Lumen measured is still present.

Verified at ce63722

  • Retry reuses the allocated hosted identity (allocatedHosted, reset in the commandViewed effect). The new test fails when the reuse is disabled (mutant M1 red, 1 failed / 14 passed).
  • Manual-copy dismissal is scoped to .v2-byo__command blocks. The new test fails when onCopy is put back on .v2-byo__result (mutant M2 red, 1 failed / 14 passed).
  • V2AgentBYOHostedOffer.test.tsx + v2-layout-invariants.test.ts: 263/263 pass under Node 22. Mutants were restored; the worktree is clean.

Blocking: the offer still moves content already on screen

  • The offer renders at frontend/src/v2/components/V2AgentBYO.tsx:1527. The listener command block is at 1515 and the claude-adapter command block is at 1569 (and 1588, 1601 for the other snippets). When the offer appears, the claude-adapter command below it is pushed down. That is the lost-click shape from TASK-461.
  • Lily's requirement (83857): nothing already on screen may move when the offer appears. The offer must sit below the last command block it could push, or reserve its space from first render.
  • No layout-invariant test was added. v2-layout-invariants.test.ts has no assertion for v2-byo__hosted-offer or for the command block's top.

Needed for PASS

  1. Move the offer below the final command block (or reserve its height from first render).
  2. Add a layout-invariant test that asserts the command block's top does not change when the offer shows.

I'll gate the head that carries both.

Placement correction at 8cbea54: the offer is now below the final command block, including the commands inside Other ways. The previous first-command-only placement was insufficient.

The new real-browser invariant e2e/byo-offer-layout.spec.ts fails at 1440 and 390 on the previous code, then passes after this move. It expands all four commands and compares their viewport tops before and after the offer appears:

  • 1440: [288, 625, 822, 960] → [288, 625, 822, 960].
  • 390: [313, 890, 1167, 1345] → [313, 890, 1167, 1345].

The BYO render test and v2-layout-invariants suite also assert the offer follows the last command. 362 focused checks and both browser tests pass; typecheck passes; scoped lint has zero errors. En/zh 1440/390 offer screenshots are refreshed in the PR. Copy and reload controls remain green.

8cbea54 — code gate HOLD. The command tops are now stationary, but the offer still pushes the memory import and the primary "Go to pod" row when it appears.

Verified at 8cbea54

  • The offer now renders after the final command (Other ways details), and the four command blocks don't move. e2e/byo-offer-layout.spec.ts asserts the four command tops before and after the offer at 1440 and 390, and the new v2-layout-invariants test pins the source order.
  • V2AgentBYOHostedOffer.test.tsx and v2-layout-invariants.test.ts: 264/264 pass under Node 22.

Blocking: the offer still moves content already on screen

  • Lily's rule (83857) is that nothing already on screen may move when the offer appears. The offer is at V2AgentBYO.tsx:1601. The memory block (<div className="v2-byo__snippet">, ~1611) and the CTA row (<div className="v2-byo__cta-row">, 1652, with "Go to pod" and "Install another") render unconditionally in the result state and sit below the offer. When the offer appears, both move down by its full height.
  • That is the same lost-click shape as TASK-461 on the primary action. The e2e spec and the layout test check only command tops, so they can't see this.

Needed for PASS

  1. Move the offer below the CTA row (the end of the result card), or reserve its height from first render.
  2. Extend the e2e spec to assert the top of the CTA row and the memory textarea before and after the offer shows, at both widths.

I'll gate the head that carries both.

UX-GATE: PASS @ 8cbea54
ux-lead render gate (Signal), on behalf of lily-shen's pod. I built 8cbea54 locally (dist index-hVEkMKF1.js / index-BHfSOMkc.css, both loaded in every arm) and drove /v2/agents/byo in "your own agent" mode on a fixture: zero network, 0 page errors, 0 fixture misses. I also ran the same arms at ce63722 before this push; behaviour is identical, only the placement moved.

Contract (TASK-461/482/483), measured at 1440 and 390, en and zh-CN:

  • Timer. Absent at 5 s, present at 31 s, in all four arms.
  • Exit intent. At 1440, mouseleave with clientY 0 shows the offer at 2 s and clientY 40 does not. At 390 it never shows (the min-width 761 gate holds).
  • Copy. Copy hides a shown offer. Copy at 2 s, then 31 s plus an exit: it never appears (1440 en, 390 zh).
  • Once per panel per session. Reload, then re-issue the same agent and pod: absent at 32 s and on exit. sessionStorage holds exactly one commonly:byo-hosted-offer: key.
  • Placement. The offer is a section role=status named "Run it here instead", after "Other ways to connect" and before the memory snippet. Visible copy targets are stationary when it appears: 300/637 at 1440 en, 325/902 at 390 en, the same top before and after. This beats my original "directly under the command" ask.
  • Act. White surface, 1 px border-token, radius 4, ink text, 600 13/20.
    • 1440: 140×32 (en), 119×32 (zh).
    • 390: 322×44, full width.
    • No cobalt or green. Nothing under 11 px.
  • Copy text. Muted (rgb 102 112 133), 400 13/20: "No terminal needed. Start a new hosted agent in this pod." / "无需终端。在这个 Pod 中启动一个新的托管智能体。"
  • Overflow. scrollWidth == clientWidth at 390 in both locales.
  • Act path.
    • It calls next-free-name, then /api/registry/install, then /api/hosted/provision, then the hosted "Running: maya-agent" state. No confirm, no new route.
    • A provision failure renders one alert inside the offer and none at page level, with the panel and command intact.

Non-blocking notes, nothing owed for this PR:

  1. At 390 the 30 s offer lands at y 1179 against an 844 fold, so phone users see it only once they scroll past the commands. That's fine for a quiet secondary. But ByoStep has no offer-shown or offer-clicked step, so the funnel can't separate "never saw it" from "saw it and passed". It's worth a follow-up row if this offer is meant to move the 7-of-7 number.
  2. A provision failure shows the server's raw error string inside the offer, which is English in zh. That's the existing submitHosted path, not new here.

Assert the mobile hosted-offer dimensions.

The project requires tests for new code paths. The current assertion reads the desktop rule, so it still passes if the mobile override is removed. Add assertions for the mobile height and width.

#2646 (review) fixed in f83c691: the offer is now the last child of the issued panel, after memory import and the final CTA row. No existing panel content follows it.

The extended real-browser test was red at both widths before this change, then passed. It puts the memory textarea and both action buttons fully on screen while the timer fires, and compares every command top plus textarea/CTA row/button tops before and after:

  • 1440px memory/CTA tops: [566, 757, 757, 840] → identical.
  • 390px memory/CTA tops: [530, 752, 752, 855] → identical.

All four command tops are also unchanged. Both the render test and source invariant require the offer to follow the final CTA. 362 Jest checks, both Chromium tests and frontend typecheck pass. En/zh screenshots and measured JSONs are refreshed in the PR at f83c691.

f83c691 — code gate HOLD. Nothing above the offer moves now, but the offer is not the pinned bar Lily ruled on, so it can sit off-screen at 30 s.

Verified at f83c691

  • The offer is the issued panel's last child, after the Other ways block, the memory field and the CTA row. The e2e spec asserts the command, memory and CTA tops are unchanged after the offer shows, at 1440 and 390.
  • V2AgentBYOHostedOffer.test.tsx and v2-layout-invariants.test.ts: 264/264 pass under Node 22.

Blocking: the offer is in flow, not the pinned bar from the 83876 ruling

  • Lily's ruling: render the offer as a bar with position: sticky at the bottom of the BYO content pane, with bottom padding equal to the bar's height from first render. Gate criteria: nothing in flow moves, the bar is visible at 390 and 1440, and it does not cover the last control at full scroll.
  • v2.css has no sticky rule for .v2-byo__hosted-offer (line 5981 sets only margin-top: 12px). The pane has no bottom padding for it.
  • The spec attaches status to the DOM but never asserts the offer is in the viewport, so the "visible the moment it appears" requirement is not tested. At the bottom of a long result card, a user stalled at the top at 30 s won't see it.

Needed for PASS

  1. Make the offer a sticky bottom bar on the BYO pane, with padding equal to its height from first render.
  2. Add a viewport assertion that the offer is visible at 390 and 1440 when it appears, and a full-scroll check that it doesn't cover the last CTA.

I'll gate the head that carries both.

Lily's 16:28Z ruling is implemented at 7eebbf4: a sticky bottom bar outside the setup layout, with an ink action, top border and no shadow. Its 96px desktop / 128px phone height is reserved from the first render; the equal negative margin makes insertion add zero flow height.

The extended Chromium tests pass at 1440×1000 and 390×844. All command, memory and final action positions are stationary; the bar is fully visible from the initial position and at both scroll extremes. At full scroll, the last control is 64px above the bar at both sizes. The reservation equals measured bar height before key issuance as well as after appearance.

362 focused Jest checks and both Chromium tests pass; typecheck passes and scoped lint has no errors. En/zh initial, full-scroll, copy and reload shots and the clearance measurements are refreshed in the committed evidence folder and linked in the PR body.

7eebbf4 — code gate PASS. The offer is the ruled sticky bottom bar, space is reserved from first render, and the command, memory and CTA tops stay fixed. Two non-blocking notes.

Verified at 7eebbf4

  • Structure: the bar is position: sticky; bottom: 0 inside .v2-feature__body (the overflow-y: auto scroll container). Its margin-top is -var(--v2-byo-offer-height), so it overlays the padding that .v2-byo__layout reserves. --v2-byo-offer-height is set on .v2-feature--byo (96px desktop, 128px ≤760px), so the reserved space exists before any offer appears.
  • Stationary: the e2e spec asserts command tops and memory/CTA tops are unchanged after the offer shows, at 1440 and 390. The layout-invariant test pins the sticky rule, border-top, no shadow, and the reserved padding.
  • Clearance: sticky-clearance-390.json reports bar height 128 = reserved 128, bar top 716, last control bottom 652 (64px clear at full scroll). The initial-state reserved height is asserted equal to the bar height.
  • Visible: the spec asserts the bar is in the viewport at scrollTop 0 and at full scroll. I checked offer-en-390.png, offer-zh-CN-390.png and full-scroll-zh-CN-390.png: the bar is pinned to the bottom edge, the button is fully visible, and nothing is cut off in either language.
  • V2AgentBYOHostedOffer.test.tsx and v2-layout-invariants.test.ts: 264/264 pass under Node 22.
  • I did not re-run the Chromium e2e in this session (no root Playwright install or dev server here). The PASS rests on the spec's assertions, the captured metrics and the screenshots.

Non-blocking

  1. Mid-scroll overlay. Lily's ruling accepts that the bar overlays content. In offer-en-390.png it cuts through the "connect command" line of the key-once paragraph. A control that sits under the bar at an intermediate scroll position can't be tapped. Worth one walk at a mid-scroll position with the CTA row under the bar.
  2. Error state at 390. .v2-byo__hosted-offer is a fixed 128px box with overflow: auto. With a long error plus the 44px button, it may need a scroll inside the bar. Not seen in the shots, which show no error.

Render check at 7eebbf4, viewed by me from the committed evidence (offer-en-390, full-scroll-en-390, offer-en-1440).

  • The offer is a bottom bar pinned to the BYO pane: the terminal command, the memory import and the "Go to your pod" / "Install another" row all stay in place. At full scroll the last control sits clear above the bar, because the pane reserves the bar's height.
  • At 390 the button fills the width with the line above it; at 1440 the text sits left and the button right. Ink button, a border on top only, no shadow. That matches the ruling.

Pressing on sable's PASS at this head.

UX-GATE: HOLD @ 7eebbf4
UX Lead (ux-lead seat), visual gate: built at this head, served from disk with a fixture API, Chromium at 1440×900 and 390×844, en and zh-CN.

Lily's 83876 ruling holds in every arm I ran:

  • Nothing in flow moves. Every copy-button top, the memory textarea top and the CTA row top are identical before and after the bar appears (en and zh at 1440 and 390).
  • Visible on arrival. At scrollTop 0 the bar is fully inside the viewport: 1440 at y 789, height 96; 390 at y 716, height 128.
  • Never covers the last control. At full scroll of .v2-feature__body, "Install another" / 再安装一个 clears the bar's top by 64 px in all four arms.
  • Signal styling. The bar uses position: sticky with a top border only (1 px, rgb(208,213,221)), no shadow, on a white surface. The ink button has white text and keeps its label. Both are 40 px tall at 1440, and the button is 44 px tall and full width at 390. No text is under 11 px, and there is no horizontal overflow at 390 (scrollWidth equals clientWidth).
  • The timer, exit-intent and copy-suppression behaviour is unchanged from my PASS at 8cbea54.

Blocking: the failure state doesn't fit the bar. .v2-byo__hosted-offer has a fixed height: var(--v2-byo-offer-height) with overflow: auto, and the error <p role="alert"> renders inside it.

  • At 390 with the provision call failing (fixture, en), the bar's scrollHeight is 136 against a clientHeight of 127. A one-line error already overflows by 9 px, and the bar becomes a nested scroller (h4-SF-390-en-fail).
  • The non-fixture path shows the server's error text, which has no length bound. A two-line message at 290 px, or a longer zh string, is cut off inside a scroller that nobody would think to scroll. This is the one moment the user needs to read what went wrong.
  • At 1440 the one-line fixture error fits exactly (95 = 95), with no slack for a second line.

Fix: let the bar grow when it has content. Use min-height: var(--v2-byo-offer-height) instead of height, keep margin-top: calc(-1 * var(--v2-byo-offer-height)), and drop overflow: auto. Any extra height then adds flow only below the last control, so nothing on screen moves and the clearance rule still holds. Then extend the Chromium spec with a failing provision call that returns a two-line error at 390. Assert that the alert's bottom edge is inside the bar and the viewport, and that the bar's scrollHeight is no greater than its clientHeight.

Non-blocking:

  • At 1440 the bar spans the whole feature body (x 135, width 1240), so its copy starts left of the command column's edge and the button sits past the right-hand preview card. It reads as a page-level bar, which fits the ruling. Aligning the bar's padding to the .v2-byo__layout column would tie it to the content. That's your call.
  • Inside the bar the error loses its own box (border 0, padding 0) and renders as plain ink text under the button. That's acceptable, but it reads more like a caption than a failure.

UX-GATE: PASS @ 7cebf11 — the sticky bar now grows to hold a provision error instead of scrolling inside itself; layout still holds at 1440 and 390, en and zh.
Gated by ux-lead (Lily's 83876 ruling), from a clean build of this head served with a fixture that never touches api.commonly.me.

What changed since my HOLD @ 7eebbf4: height → min-height and overflow: auto removed on .v2-byo__hosted-offer, plus a Chromium case and an invariant. That is the fix I asked for.

Measured at this head (S arms: 1440/390 × en/zh):

  • Nothing in flow moves when the bar appears: the copy, CTA and memory tops are identical before and after.
  • The bar is in view on arrival: 96 px tall at 1440, 128 px at 390. Top border 1 px, no shadow, ink button.
  • At full scroll the last control ("Install another" / 再安装一个) clears the bar by 64 px in all four arms.
  • No text under 11 px; scrollWidth equals clientWidth; the only scroller is .v2-feature__body.

Provision failing (SF arms):

  • 390 en, one-line fixture error: the bar grows 128 → 145, scrollHeight equals clientHeight (144/144), and the alert sits inside the bar and inside the viewport. Clearance 47 px.
  • 390 en and zh with the longest real string on this path (hostedCapHeld, ~3 lines at 390): the bar is 185 px with no inner scroll, and the clearance is 7 px. Passes.
  • 1440 en/zh: the bar stays 96 px and clearance stays 64 px.

Non-blocking:

  1. The reserved bottom padding is fixed at the bar's resting height, so an error grows the bar upward into that space. Today's longest real string leaves 7 px at 390. A synthetic 4-line message (about 150 chars) covers the bottom 13 px of "Install another". If server messages get longer, move the reserve to the bar's measured height or cap the in-bar error at two lines.
  2. Carried from my HOLD: at 1440 the bar spans the full feature body, and the in-bar error has lost its box.

Check final-control clearance after the provision error.

The full-scroll clearance assertion runs before the 503 response. After the error expands the bar, this test can pass even if the bar covers the final BYO button. Scroll the pane to the bottom again and assert that the last button ends above the expanded bar.

As per path instructions, comment on “missing tests for changed behaviour.”
